Selskar Strings is a professional, experienced string ensemble providing beautiful live ceremony and drinks reception music for weddings across Leinster, Munster and nationwide across Ireland. We perform mainly as a String Trio, with options for a String Quartet, our popular Violin and Piano Duo, or additional singers and instrumentalists on request.
Our repertoire ranges from classical favourites and romantic film themes to modern pop, folk and bespoke requests, creating the perfect atmosphere for your ceremony and drinks reception. We make the whole process easy, relaxed and stress-free, helping your day feel effortless and memorable.

Wonderful Atmosphere
We were delighted to have Selskar Strings perform on our wedding day. They created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening and were extremely professional and easy to deal. Their broad repertoire meant there was something to suit all tastes and the quality of their music added a really special touch to the occasion. Amazing Part of Our Day
Selskar Strings performed at our wedding in Johnstown Castle Wexford in May 2026. We cannot recommend them highly enough, from their music repertoire, their helpfulness in suggesting music at particular junctures in the ceremony to the beautiful to how much guests commented on how fabulous there were. They really made the day so special.

I wanted to reach out thank you so much the music on Friday was so very special it sounded fantastic. I can’t thank you enough especially the accompaniment with Sarah wow it sounded like you all were so use to eachother (that’s professionalism). Both Shane & I loved it and although we didn’t get to enjoy reception music as much as we would of liked we heard great feedback and the next time you guys have a showcase we will be the first two there!

Incredible
We got married in August 2026 and Selskar Strings performed at our ceremony. From start to finish, they were absolutely incredible. They were really easy to get in touch with, and were quick to respond to any emails/requests from us. On the day, they were professional and played so beautifully. We absolutely loved having them, and all of our guests commented on the lovely music. They were also willing to accompany one of our family members who was singing during our ceremony, which was an amazing extra touch. We can't recommend them enough.

Easy to work with
Rebecca from Selskar Strings discussed our choices of music, suitable places in the ceremony to introduce them, and made wonderful suggestions. On the day, Rebecca and Josipa added immensely to the atmosphere of the ceremony and the reception. They were also open and friendly with our guests. We have no hesitation in recommending them to any couple getting married.

I had the pleasure of hearing Selskar Strings at a wedding recently and they were absolutely excellent, they played so beautifully and such a wide variety of music. I've also attended their candlelight concerts and again have thoroughly enjoyed every minute! Would highly recommend them.

Excellent group
I hired Selskar Strings as a surprise for my (now) wife, and they went above and beyond to help me choose the perfect music for our ceremony. We’re big into games and films, and they helped me every step of the way, arranging a number of game theme songs especially for us. Rebecca went above and beyond in helping us choose our music and the communication throughout was really great. It added such a personal and emotional touch to the day. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the moment they started playing the Zelda theme as my wife walked up the aisle. Couldn’t recommend them enough, especially if you want something a bit different but still classy.

We booked Selskar Strings for our drinks reception as our guests were arriving to the hotel and they completely stole the show. Their music had the whole place buzzing, and everyone loved trying to guess the songs! It was such a lovely way to keep guests entertained while we were off taking photos. Perfect
We wanted something elegant for our wedding ceremony music, but also wanted it to feel like ‘us’. Selskar Strings were the perfect choice as they played all the traditional pieces beautifully but also included some other songs that meant so much to us. Rebecca was so warm and helpful throughout the whole planning process, we felt like we were in safe hands the entire time. I actually cried the second I heard them start to play, it was just perfect.

Couldn’t recommend them enough 🥰
We seen this wonderful group playing at the wedding showcase in the riverside park hotel Enniscorthy and we knew we had to have them for our wedding 🥰 from meeting them there and speaking to them and then emailing back and forth with Rebecca , they made it so easy to choose our music from there extensive repertoire and any ideas we had for music they happily and easily accommodated us , we had so many people saying they’ve never cried to the Jurassic park theme tune , and walking out of our ceremony to the legend of Zelda theme tune was something else 😂 we couldn’t recommend this trio enough , they are so down to earth and wonderful musicians and so professional from start to finish! They really made the ceremony and drinks reception extra special for us and all of our guests are still raving about them including ourselves!!

Just magical
Selskar Strings were absolutely magical. We wanted a modern but classy feel for our garden ceremony and they delivered it perfectly playing modern pop songs with elegance and charm, it felt like we were in the middle of a Bridgerton scene! Rebecca was amazing to work with and made planning the music so easy. Our guests are still talking about hearing Taylor Swift and Queen done on strings! We’re so grateful for what they added to our day to make it so extra special.

Fantastic musicians
Rebecca and the team at Selskar Strings were such a huge part of what made our wedding feel so special. We had a mix of classical and pop music, from Vivaldi to Ed Sheeran, and every piece was played so beautifully. The sound in the house was just stunning. They even learned a special song from a film that means a lot to us. So many of our guests came up to us during the reception to say how much they loved the music. A total highlight of the day!

We hired Selskar Strings for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. Nothing was too much trouble. We went for a string quartet for the ceremony and I can still remember how beautiful the music was. I found it hard to choose songs and they helped us out by offering a list of suggestions but also they can play anything! They were great at communicating also to make sure everything was in order for the wedding. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly talented professional musicians. I can’t praise them enough and they made our day one we won’t forget! Thank you Selskar Strings!

From the very beginning, Rebecca was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We first spoke over the phone, and she kept in touch throughout the lead up to the wedding. We also had an online call where she took the time to understand the atmosphere we wanted to create and the type of music we loved. We wanted a mix of classical and cinematic music, and Rebecca made brilliant recommendations that suited our style perfectly.
Rebecca also went above and beyond for us by helping us find a harpist for our separate legal wedding ceremony. She didn’t have to do this, but was so kind and helpful, and it really showed how genuine she is and how much she cares about the couples she works with.
Working with Selskar Strings was genuinely one of the easiest and most stress free parts of organising our wedding. We always felt that everything was completely under control, which meant we could simply look forward to hearing them play on the day.
And the music itself... we were absolutely blown away. It was so beautiful and elegant and created exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for during our ceremony. It completely set the tone and made the moment feel incredibly special. Our guests were equally blown away and really felt the emotion of the music.
We also had Selskar Strings play during our reception after the ceremony, and once again they were incredible. So many of our guests came up to us asking, “Who are they? They’re so good!” We heard nothing but wonderful things about them throughout the day.
