We are Tara & Dave, a husband-and-wife wedding photography team based in Kerry, photographing weddings throughout Ireland and beyond.
Our approach is relaxed, natural and centred around the real moments of your day — the laughter, the nerves, the people you love and all the little things happening in between. We love beautiful portraits too, but without turning your wedding day into a photoshoot. We will offer gentle direction when you need it and then step back and let the day unfold.
There are always two of us photographing your wedding, which means we can capture both sides of the story. From morning preparations through to all those moments you might otherwise miss. It also means there’s always someone keeping an eye on the details while helping everything feel calm and easy.
Our couples often tell us they’re nervous in front of the camera, and that’s completely okay. You don’t need to know how to pose or be comfortable having your photograph taken. Our job is to help you relax, enjoy your day and create photographs that genuinely feel like you.

We had Tara and Dave photograph our wedding on 31st December 2021 and they were just fantastic. They really do read a room and capture those moments so incredibly well. Aside from being wonderful at what they do, they are genuinely kind and lovely people who love having the craic. How comfortable they made us feel in what was a stressful morning, is a testament to how excellent they are at what they do. They are also great at putting on car ribbon, fixing veils and hunting down hairdressers in time of a crisis. I was blown away by the shots they took on a wet, windy day! Trust me, having these two as your photographers will be one of the best decisions you ever make. Thank you Tara and Dave, we are so grateful for the day you spent with us taking pictures that will last a lifetime

Couldn't fault the photographers from what I seen. They were extremely attentive and detailed and strived to work with some more difficult guests when it came to photos.

Tara and Dave are amazing! I really don't know how else to say it! We met them at a wedding fair in the Heights Hotel (although had snooped the website before then) and from then we were confident in our choice to book then to capture our day. They were always helpful in any question we had and put us at ease during our pre wedding shoot a few months before!
On the day they were amazing, from the time they arrived they were like ninjas managing to capture moments we probably didn't even realise! The details in just our sneak peaks have been AMAZING! So excited to see more!

Tara & Dave are amazing! We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a trip to Ireland from the US to renew our vows at The Blasket Centre / Ionad an Bhlascaoid Mh?ir. Planning from 3,000 miles away is challenging but Tara was so helpful! We were immediately comfortable with Tara & Dave & had a blast on our whirlwind tour of beautiful Dingle to capture just the most amazing photos of our day! (These pics are 100 times better than our original wedding pics!!) Love you guys!!

Tara and Dave were our wedding photographers and were fantastic to work with. They got all the important shots we wanted , which wasn't easy with 9 kids in the bridal party. They do their work in a lovely relaxed manor. Even helped with the brides dress! Highly recommend them!

They were wonderful. Tara was so kind and VERY helpful in so many aspects. Both of them were lovely and made the day special. Even though it was rainy and cold, they were troopers and captured some amazing photos! Would highly recommend them for anyone! VERY fast at response times also!

Tara and Dave were excellent photographers. We didn't have a firm idea of what we wanted but were able to give them a rough idea and they were able to guide us so that we got absolutely beautiful pictures. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get married in the Killarney area.

Shooting a wedding overseas is not as easy as it seems. A photographer will most likely be in a unkown location, will have to deal with weather and different conditions than what they're used to. Tara and Dave were amazing in the way they handled the entire day, dealt with very hot weather, dealt with guests speaking a different language and shot in venues they had never seen before. They were very professional while still being fun and upbeat and the photos came out amazing!! I would give them 10 stars all the way! I already highly recommended them to other people.

Tara and Dave did our daughter, Ciara's, wedding in Killorglin and Killarney. They are truly amazing. Great fun, very very professional and above all produced the most beautiful photographs. I couldn't believe how many photos were taken without even knowing we were being photographed.

To put it simply, Tara & Dave are everything you could want in your wedding photographers, we couldn't have been happier! They came highly recommended to us and we would have no hesitation in highly recommending them to anyone else.
Right from when we booked them in November 2017 they were quick to respond and always very helpful. On the wedding day itself in July 2019 they were so great to have around. We felt really at ease with them, their professionalism and passion for what they do just shines through, and they make you feel like more than just another wedding couple!
We received our pictures only a week and a half after the wedding, which being so soon after was such a lovely surprise and helped with the wedding blues :D
The pictures are stunning and even better than what we hoped for. We spent hours yesterday trying to decide which ones to choose for the album as we just love them all - there are definitely worse problems to have :)
So thank you Tara & Dave, we will always be grateful for the memories captured by you both xx

OMG where do we begin!! From the moment they popped in on the morning of the wedding, both Tara and Dave made us feel completely at ease. I (Jo) literally felt like Tara was one of my bridesmaids as she helped so so much with calming my nerves, giving advice, even getting me dress on!! And at the same time, the level of professionalism was amazing!! From start to finish these guys were so so kind, friendly and amazing at what they do! We can not recommend these guys enough!! Tara and Dave were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. They immediately put us at ease from the moment we met them. Neither of us like getting our photo taken, but they are so nice and easy going they made it so easy for us, the photos were captured before we even realised it. On the morning of the wedding Tara was a calming influence in a busy bridal suite, even doing up the many buttons on my wedding dress!They were so quick with the group shots too which is not an easy task. Tara was great with the kids at the wedding, getting them to smile and stand in for the pics when they just wanted to play. We absolutely loved the slideshow of photos at our wedding reception and that was only a snippet of what's to come. I would hire Tara and Dave again in a heartbeat, they are a great couple to have as part of your wedding and their work is fantastic.

The absolute best of the best for your wedding day. The nicest two people you could meet who totally blended in on the day. Even bring you to the toilet when your dress is too big ?? Had our engagement shoot with them too and the quality of the photos are just perfect!

Photography is so important at a wedding, but it can be hard to find a photographer to capture all aspects of the event without being intrusive or "bossy". Tara and Dave worked together in a way that was humorous and had the guests laughing, creating many very genuine smiles in our group pictures. They went to great lengths to make sure all the images we requested were captured, but best of all threw in lots of candids that we didn't know about until we received the online gallery! We were delighted with the final photo gallery and really appreciated the flexibility to choose the images we love best. We highly recommend Tara Donahue Photography and at the end of the day felt like we were all best friends!

Tara and Dave were so lovely to work with, bringing relaxed vibes, good humour and amazing attention to detail when it came to getting those beautiful photos. We received a gorgeous sneak peak video soon after our big day and then our full photos shortly after that. They were very responsive and had lots of great suggestions for us at all stages of meeting them, pre-wedding shots and wedding shots. We would highly recommend them.

Tara and Dave were the best decision we made for our wedding! I was planning the entire day from NYC and they were incredible responsive and accessible via facetime and email. When we did get to meet in person, their laid back nature and humor solidified that we made the right decision. Our engagement photos were an amazing opportunity to get to know them and their style before the big day! On the wedding day itself, Tara and Dave kept us on time, but also kept us calm and so happy. You could tell they love what they do because they appeared to be having so much fun on our day, too! It did not feel like they were shooting "just another wedding", but really made us feel so special. They took every request we had and had the vision to make it even better! The photos we received were so good that they made the cover of a magazine, an opportunity so beyond my wildest dreams! The photos captured moments we did not know were happening and I feel so lucky that we will have them for a lifetime. The special, quiet moments and the images of the party were all better than the next. They were so professional on the day as well, sometimes you hardly knew they were there. More over, Tara and Dave became friends. Their passion for photography is not just in the images they capture, but the way they truly care about their couples. I cannot recommend them enough. Like honestly I wouldn't be the most photogenic and usually would cringe when I see pics of myself but I am soooo happy with all the pics, they are better than I could of ever imagined, we love them! They captured so many natural moments throughout the day along with fabulous family shots. We are so lucky we had Tara and Dave as our photographers ! We were searching for photographers abroad ( were from Philadelphia) and we were out at ease when meeting them both !
Our biggest request was to capture us on off the cliffs and Dave was nice enough to climb with us while Tara captured beautiful shots behind us. We can't thank and brag enough about our photos !!

From my first conversation with Tara I knew she was the one to best suit my wedding day photo needs, I had seen some of her work previously and really liked the fun relaxed style. Tara and Dave who we met a few weeks before the wedding for engagement shoot made us feel so relaxed. On the day both of them were so friendly and yet so professional. They really understood what we were looking for and worked really well with our 3 young children. We love our wedding day photos and would recommend them highly. They were flexible, reliable, friendly, just really easy to be around and that's what you need on such a special day.

Simply put, Tara and Dave are amazing. From the first email to the follow up emails after the wedding, they were so professional and at the same time, such good fun. They offer a wide range of packages and it was so easy to get everything we wanted as standard, engagement photoshoot and wedding albums included. They were so fabulous to have around the morning of the wedding, such a calming influence and they both know exactly what to say and do to solve every possible ?crisis?! We had mentioned to Tara and Dave about maybe getting some scenic photos on the day of the wedding, they were both completely up for it, so on the day, we took off hiking and got some amazing shots that we will treasure forever. We both really wanted photos that didn't have us standing posing for the day and that's what we got with Tara and Dave. We have all the family portraits that we love, but all of our favourite ones are the ones that we didn't even know were being taken.

From first correspondence to the date of the wedding, wife and husband team Tara and Dave were fantastic to work with. Having two photographers was really excellent because Tara stuck with us girls for the preps in the morning and Dave went with the boys. From the beginning, they gave such an image of professionalism and showed that nothing was an obstacle. Their experience really shines through and they really know what works. Our wedding photos are just what we had hoped for. We never felt that they were intrusive and they made us feel at ease immediately - most of the time, we forgot that they were there, snapping away! Tara and Dave were absolutely fantastic throughout the day as well as leading up to it. We aren't the most comfortable around a camera but they made it very easy for us and we got beautiful images as a result. We would reccommend them to anyone planning their wedding.

Absolutely wonderful and perfect experience! Ireland was a destination wedding for us (we are from the US) and trying to find a photographer that you would not meet until a few days before the wedding can be stressful. All I can say is that Tara and Dave made the whole experience stress-free. They were wonderful with communication (even through our big time differences) and were easy to coordinate plans with. They even organized a meet-up and practice photo-shoot a few days before the wedding so we could get to know each other and also start to feel comfortable behind the camera.
On the day of the wedding, Tara and Dave arrived promptly and were efficient in taking photos of everything we could want and need. Dave went to take pictures of the guys and Tara stayed with us ladies. This really made things flow well.
At the church ceremony, I didn't even notice them in the church. I don't mean that rudely at all, but it was amazing how they captured the moments perfectly without being distracting during mass.
Back at the reception site (Ballyseede Castle), they took care of rounding up all of our guests, including a few groomsmen who go "lost" at the bar back in town. It was so nice when they encouraged us to take 10 minutes by ourselves with no one else/no pictures, just to enjoy the moment. That really was appreciated.
I originally thought that we wouldn't do staged pictures for long, but my guests had a different idea. They all wanted individual pictures with bride/groom. Tara and Dave were very flexible and the change in plans did not seem to worry them. They were very flexible and accommodating!
After the wedding I had a back-home reception 1 month later. Tara put together a beautiful slide-show for me to show to family. Edited pictures also came back quickly.
Overall, I could not recommend Tara and Dave more! They were fantastic to work with. If you are an out-of-town bride, like myself, search no further--you have found your photographers!

Tara and Dave were the ultimate professionals and guided us through our wedding day. They were aware of photo opportunities without being told and achieved the mix of natural and posed traditional photos that we wanted.

Tara and Dave are wonderful wedding photographers, and I would hire them 1000x over again based on the incredible work they did for our wedding. Our photographs came back spectacular, and exceeded our expectations. We have a wealth of beautiful photographs that range from intimate moments to candid moments to posed family photos - in both classic and modern types. They just did an outstanding job. Additionally, they were an absolute pleasure to work with! Very kind, thoughtful, reliable and proactive. Added bonus - Tara donated her lip gloss to me when I fell in love with the color on our wedding day. She just went above and beyond and although it was small, the gesture meant so much. Loved working with these two and would absolutely book them for any/all special events in the future!

My husband and I hired Tara and her husband to photograph our wedding. We were planning everything from overseas, and so I did a lot of research and hired them based on good reviews and how much we liked their style. It was a bit of a leap of faith since we could not meet beforehand. It turns out to have been a fantastic decision. Not only were they professional, flexible, and accommodating, but they were absolutely fantastic to work with on the day. They provided a calm and unobtrusive presence, and were like ninjas, getting shots I didn't even realize they were taking. Their experience was also an asset as they helped everything run smoothly and kept us on schedule without ever having us feel rushed. They also make a great team working together, as well as with the videographer we hired. We recently got our pictures back and they are just gorgeous. They really capture the feel of our day, both the big moments and the intimate ones. In short, my husband and I could not be happier with our choice and highly recommend them.

Tara and Dave are fantastic! My wife spent quite some time researching photographers in the area and as a photographer herself she enjoyed what Tara's work looked like so far. After meeting Tara and Dave we were very comfortable with their company and the brainstorming of picture ideas that followed. Since my wife loves animals and they live by farms they invited us to Firies for coffee and some very fun pre wedding day pictures in the country side with cats, hens, bees, cows, fields, the trunk of a jeep and so much more! The day of the wedding they were very professional at gathering everyone together, grabbing our attention and telling us where we needed to be all the while making us feel relaxed and having fun where otherwise we might be stressed.
Some lovely photos were taken as well as some really funny and awesome pics that they have shared on Facebook since!

If you are looking for a fun yet highly professional pair of photographers look no further than Tara and Dave. They are amazing. We got married last week in Sneem and I always imagined that I would be feel uncomfortable, being followed around all day with someone with a camera but this was so not the case! I had witnessed other photographers at weddings forcing people into awkward poses ect. but not with these two! I really enjoyed their company and feel like we have made new friends in Tara & Dave. Tara and Dave did an unbelievable job capturing our day perfectly.They had to deal with the worst weather but like complete professionals improvised to make sure we had some special shots, not every photographer would stand out in lashing rain so they could get a photo of their couple in the rain. They were so attentive and nothing was a problem. They made us feel completely at ease and comfortable from the get go and it felt like we knew them years at our wedding. All the bridal party and guests commented on how good they were and also great craic. The photos speak for themselves they are amazing and very unique!!! We are so happy with them. I would highly recommend Tara and Dave for your wedding they are brilliant photographers and a great couple to have around.

I do not consider myself a very photogenic person, and I am not one for public displays of affection (what we call "PDA" in the States) because being gay in the States is not as celebrated as it is elsewhere. I sincerely appreciate Tara and Dave meeting with the two of us the day before our ceremony and actually asking what we were comfortable with and what we weren't, and that conversation put me at immediate ease with the process as a whole. I was very comfortable with the photo shoots and the process being very natural and at-ease for someone who is naturally discreet, like me. The pictures turned out beautiful and the entire event was as natural and relaxed as it could possibly be. It also didn't hurt that Dave and I share the same sense of humor. Relaxed, funny, natural, artistic and overall an absolute pleasurable experience made possibly by Tara and Dave.

Tara and Dave were such a special presence on our wedding day. As a bride, I found Tara's gentle manner, practical support and enthusiasm so helpful and life-saving. I was stunned by the way she made me laugh and feel beautiful when I was pretty stressed and nervous. She got a long so well with all my bridesmaids and family which really put me at ease. I felt that everyone was so comfortable with both Dave and Tara, which was probably related to them taking the time to come and meet the bridal party and family etc, before the wedding day - at things like our rehearsal.
I loved the photos and feel that they really portray the love and joy that was present on the wedding day - even capturing some of the unexpected and funny moments of the day that were not planned at all. Tara was great, she arranged to do a pre wedding shoot when we were back in Ireland. She was very flexible and kept in touch all the time. On the wedding day she was so relaxed which made everyone feel calm even tho we were behind n time, she took the time to meet my family and my husbands family which meant alot to us. On the day of the wedding her partner also went to The Carlton so he could get some pictures of the Groom and his party getting ready. All day they took there time to arrange full family pictures and stayed till after our first dance.

Tara and Dave were amazing !! They felt more like one of the guest then any normal photographer, we wanted a very relaxed feel to our wedding and not someone lurking in the background taking pictures. They really got involved with our guests and made them feel very at ease.
As for the pictures I couldn't have been happier with the results, this is the one day of your life were you want to look, feel amazing and you want your pictures to capture that which Tara and Dave really did. They couldn't have done any more to make myself my husband and all of the guest feel comfortable.

Planning a wedding from the states could have been a challenge but Tara made it so easy. She Skyped with us to plan and made us feel comfortable with everything (hard to do for those who don't really like pictures of themselves).

I can remember when I first met Tara and I knew straight away that she was was going to be our wedding photographer. She was so enthusiastic and her portfolio was really impressive! I spent the preparations of the wedding running on top of my head but Tara made that part easy. She read me like a book and knew what I wanted. I am so conscious about my weight and not a fan of photos and I was able to say this to Tara and she completely understood. Tara and Dave were so professional on the day, I hardly knew they were there! Even with the inclement weather conditions that made it challenging, the photos turned out amazing. You made my little girl look like an angel and captured myself and Alan's happiness that day. All I can say is thank you Tara, I'll be back for a few family portraits soon! X

It is definitely a common thread that Kerry weddings aren't usually the best for the weather! But as I always recommend throw on the wellies and have some fun and we definitely did that!!!! :) Oh and your idea of stopping off en route to the hotel for chocolate pancakes was brill!!! :) I have to go back there some day soon! :) I think we are well overdue a coffee and a catch up soon with your beautiful family. xxxx

Myself and Michael can't thank Tara and David enough, we had our wedding the 31 st of December 2013 what a day we had with them! We felt so relaxed they went above and beyond our expectations I don't think I have laughed so much!!! We highly recommend them both what a team they made... From our first meeting with Tara we knew she was "the one". Warm and welcoming, she was always at the end of the phone and nothing was too big of an ask. Tara is lively fun and energetic and her fantastic work reflects these great qualities immensely. We were completely at ease the day of our wedding, Tara and Dave blended perfectly, never in your face like I have heard of many photographers. There was no rushing, we were as relaxed as if it were any normal day. It's fantastic to have a photographer who will listen to what you want, your ideas for your big day and improve on them with her suggestions, there is a lot to be said for the expert eye of Tara. We can honestly, hand on heart, say that we have found our family photographer and can't wait for our next celebration so Tara can capture our precious memories. Aoife, Brendan and Katie, you are absolute legends! :) I have never met a couple that took on the weather and challenges thrown at you like you guys did! It poured and poured and poured some more but you threw on the wellies, reversed huge trucks up tiny tracks all for the sake of getting the images that you wanted to tell your day exactly as it was. I have complete admiration and respect for you and think that any couple planning a December wedding in Ireland should take an ounce of inspiration from you both. If it rains so what! Tara was the photographer at our wedding last yr, from our first meeting i knew Tara would be playing a great part in our day. Living in Australia it was extra hard picking people to make our day perfect however she instantly put us both at ease. Our pre wedding shoot and our actual wedding day weather wise couldn't have been any more different but one thing remained the same - was how relaxed we felt. A lot of photographers we spoke with had very set ideas but Tara and Dave make you feel part of the team and actually listen to what their couples are looking for - because all couples are looking for something unique to them and that was important to us, trying to capture our personalities as well as the wedding. Our album arrived recently and to say we love it would be an understatement. We are back in Ireland towards the end of the yr and cannot wait for Tara to capture the next chapter in our lives. (ps Dave's pretty awesome to!)

As I read through these reviews I am honoured to say that our "clients" have since become our friends. We feel a wedding is so much more than just one day and to be with you from the planning stages (even via email and Skype), to be witness to your two families joining and to have since photographed your beautiful daughter (and many of your friend's weddings!) it is so much more than a job it is an absolute privilege. Thank you for trusting us with capturing such special moments for you both. I often tell the story of when I had to stall you and detour to the beach for photos (after checking in with Dave who was with Matt) as the boys were in no rush to get to the church and we couldn't have the bride arriving before the groom! :) I now understand the laid back Australian approach and completely admire it! :) Thank you again, I look forward to the next photographic opportunity we will have together..... xxx

They were so calming on the morning - Tara was like another bridesmaid to me - zipping up dresses, keeping my hair in check, phoning suppliers and just all round offering tips, tricks and laughs all day.
Dave was the same for the boys - bringing the craic and ensuring dicky bows and buttonholes were on straight!
Neither of their smiles, professionalism or fab energy wavered at any stage of our day (one of the hottest days of the year!) no matter how many group shots we asked them to take!
Our photos are absolutely breathtaking and you can tell Tara and Dave love what they do, they know exactly what to do and when. Thank you both so so much for making our day even more special than I could have dreamt, my only regret is not getting ye on the other side of the camera for a snap with us!!
We couldn't imagine our day without you both, you made it all so effortless and so incredible - ye are such superstars, a dream team!
