Wow, where do I even begin…

Fernhill House Hotel for us was absolutely everything we wanted for our wedding day and more from the second we first viewed the venue. As soon as we made contact with Fernhill, we knew by the welcome we received, that this venue was going to be amazing and as soon as we met the wedding planning team and saw the venue in person, it exceeded all of our expectations.
Ellie and Laura were unbelievably accommodating and flexible, which meant so much to us as we were planning our wedding from across the water, with two small children in tow, so all of our visits, Ellie ensured were tailored around dates that suited us best, which we couldn’t be more grateful for.
The lead up to the day was so smooth as everything was very well communicated from the bookings team at Fernhill and the wedding planning team, and they responded to any queries we had, literally instantly. They all made my husband and I feel like everything was always under control and it was!
The facilities at the venue are out of this world. The bridal prep lounge is the oat amazing suite I’ve ever stepped foot in. It was beyond perfect for all our needs on the morning of. Everything we needed was there, so much space that no one was bumping into one another, everything was neatly laid out and presented so beautifully, it was the perfect start to my wedding day. My bridal party thoroughly enjoyed their morning there too!
Between Ellie and Laura, the morning ran so smoothly. We had an issue with the florist turning up late and Laura made this issue literally seem like it never even happened. She coordinated with my maid of honour and they ensured I didn’t know a thing so I didn’t stress, and Laura physically carried all of the flowers herself to get them to both the groom and bridal parties on time for the ceremony, making sure we had everything we needed without a fuss.
I felt like I was in the best hands throughout the whole experience and on the day, we were looked after like royalty, everyone treated us and our guests with so much care and there was never an ounce of stress felt throughout the whole day. The food was spectacular, the marquee was honestly magical, the service was next level and the rooms were all stunning.
Everyone who attended our wedding day has expressed how much they adored our wedding venue and day. It was the most magical day of our lives, which wouldn’t have been what it was without the fantastic team at Fernhill house hotel and gardens providing the most amazing service and venue for us and our guests on the biggest day of our lives. We got Married in Fernhill in April and it really was the most amazing day.

The food was absolutely outstanding and was so prompt all guests were commenting on it all night.

We got married here last weekend and honestly all I can say is spectacular. We were so incredibly well looked after and our two boys had the best time too! All the guests were raving about the rooms, and the food was just so so good too. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially Ellie who really did go above and beyond - communication was always so easy with the venue. When we decided we were getting married we both knew our reception was going to be in Fernhill House Hotel Clonakilty. The reception we got from the beginning right up to the very end was outstanding. We met Neil first and then Ellie -The wedding coordinator . We were made feel so relaxed and the communication was second to none from start to finish.We didn’t have to worry about anything for our wedding day. When we arrived at Fernhill on our wedding day we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and handed a glass of champagne. The food was outstanding people are still talking about it. The lights and decorations were out of this world and the friendleness of all the staff we will never forget. We highly recommend Fernhill House Hotel you won’t be disappointed.

Our experience at Fernhill was nothing short of incredible for our wedding on October 11th, 2025.

We had our ceremony in the recently opened Fernery, which is a stunning space and such a lovely addition to the hotel. We also had our drinks reception there, and it really is something special—so unique and full of charm.

The food was absolutely amazing. So many of our guests were commenting on how delicious everything was, and the portions were very generous at both the drinks reception and the dinner.

Fernhill really was exceptional for our recent wedding. From the minute we booked our wedding the wedding co-ordinators Ann and Ellie went above and beyond, answering any questions we had and being exceptionally helpful with any special requests we wanted. Nothing was ever a problem. We had asked for a few tweaks prior to the wedding including some different drinks to be available at the drinks reception and for the top table to be in the middle of the room, there was no hesitation from the staff at Fernhill to make these changes.

Fernhill were exceptional when it came to liasing with the different vendors we had booked for the day, honestly everything was so well managed and the timing of the day ran seamlessly.

Our guests were blown away by how exceptional the food and the service were both at the drinks reception and in the dining room.

We met the O'Neill family throughout the day and they could not have been more welcoming and helpful to us. We were able to enjoy the entire day without having to worry about anything. Fernhill is in a league of its own when it comes to weddings. I would not for a second hesitate to recommend Fernhill to anyone, I only wish we could relive the day again.

We got married in Fernhill on the 12th September and had the most incredible day from start to finish. Starting the morning in the beautiful new bridal styling suite set the whole tone. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive with my many requests in the lead up to the day. Due to the weather we had our ceremony in the new Fernery ad it did not disappoint. The food was amazing and all of our guests are still raving about it. I wish we could do it all again, definitely recommend as the best wedding venue!

We were married at Fernhill on Sept 3rd 2025. We plan and organized our wedding with Fernhill from Canada. We could not recommended the place enough. Service, the grounds, attention to detail, bridal suite, food EVERY SINGLE THING was above and beyond fantastic. They took care of everything so there was no stress on the day. The other highlight was the beautiful styling room … absolutely worth it ladies!! Friends and family said it was the best hotel they have ever been to in Ireland! The staff were incredible to deal with, everything ran so smoothly they really know what they're doing and put us at ease.
The Venus is pristine, both inside and the gardens. The food was 10/10, all our guests were so complimentary of the food and service.

An outstanding wedding venue. The setting, the staff, the gardens, the food, the service, the rooms, the management, the atmosphere, the coordination, the attention to detail. Fernhill literally has it all.
We chose Fernhill because we were looking for a venue that felt different to typical hotel weddings and we got it so right. Fernhill House may be a hotel in name but it is so much more. As cheesy as this is, it is a community. Everything was seamless from start to finish. Every question we asked was answered immediately. Every visit to the venue made us feel like VIPs and made us so excited. The tasting menu was so extensive, we struggled to choose and our guests RAVED about the food afterwards. In fact, our friends and family raved about a lot - the gardens, Michael's golf buggy and hat, the service, the marquee, the breakfast, the list goes on and on. One thing I loved hearing from guests was that everyone had different aspects of Fernhill that they enjoyed; their compliments weren't just generic ones.
Our wedding was complicated by some odd decor pieces to match a goofy theme. This could have been met by resistance from Ellie and the staff but it really never ever was. Even the placement of games for the drinks reception was really well considered. The whole process was seamless, it really was. Even the morning of the wedding, it looked to be too windy to have the ceremony outside but Ellie suggested giving it 45 mins and the decision was made at 10:30 (for a 2 PM ceremony) to hold it outside.
We'd never actually been to Fernhill for a wedding but I will be begging engaged friends to book it for theirs (although they probably want to after attending our wedding).
A couple of recommendations if you book Fernhill: the wedding website they used (Moposa) was good for some things but the RSVP function did not work correctly for some guests. In terms of food, the monkfish was outstanding and the baked Alaska was also heavily popular, especially with one guest who is a Michelin trained pastry chef. If you are thinking of having a relaxing day, we chose to have everything in Fernhill - the ceremony, reception, photos, dinner, etc - and this was such a great decision that allowed us to spend more time with guests and allowed us to enjoy the venue completely.
Just book Fernhill - you won't regret it an ounce. I'd nearly get remarried just to do it all again.

Choosing Fernhill for our wedding reception was one of the easiest and best decisions we made throughout the entire planning process. From the moment we arrived for our viewing, Ann made us feel completely at home. She was such a calm and reassuring presence—always quick to respond, and thoughtful in every detail.

The venue is simply stunning—from the beautifully kept gardens and tastefully decorated house hotel to the glass marquee and the fairylit banquet hall, everything felt so romantic and special. Fernhill has so many extra touches that make it stand out. The food, the service, the staff—everything was top quality and flowed so seamlessly. The golf cart was a lovely touch of fun for the guests, and the singing bartender in the snug bar was such a memorable to end the night. So many of our guests commented that it was one of the most beautiful venues they had experienced.

Fernhill is a truly special, family-run venue, and the pride the O’Neill family takes in their work shines through in every part of the experience. We’re so delighted we chose to have our day there! Thank you for making it all so unforgettable.

We knew immediately after our first visit to Fernhill that this was the venue for us. The coordinator, Ann, was knowledgeable and supportive from the start. Additionally, all the family were very welcoming from that first meeting.

On the day, everything ran incredibly smoothly - we never had to ask for anything. We had multiple guests comment on the promptness/quality of service as well as the amazing food, and beautiful space.

Our date was unfortunately the one rainy Saturday of the month; however, the new marquee was still stunning. They gave us the option to stay there or go inside - we decided to chance it and were so pleased we did. Kart lifts from the lobby to the gardens were quick and fully sheltered, the marquee was more than spacious enough for all of our guests, and the lighting was fabulous for photos.

We were so happy with our day and would highly recommend Fernhill to other couples.

Myself and my husband had our wedding reception here in May 2025. We can't recommend Fernhill enough, from start to finish when we initially went to view the hotel they have been a pleasure to deal with. Ann is fantastic and such a professional. She is amazing at her job, and she is always on hand to answer any questions or queries. Nothing was too big or too small for Fernhill to do, and they always try to facilitate any requests.

The venue itself is gorgeous, we were lucky to have the newly renovated marquee available to us in the gardens and it was amazing as we luckily had fantastic weather. But on any day it just gives luxurious well polished vibes.

Also, the food in Fernhill is incredible! We had so many compliments afterwards from our guests. They use locally sourced produce and it speaks for itself.

Couldn't recommend Fernhill enough to anyone and we are super grateful that they looked after us for our big day.

We got married at Fernhill House on the 18th April and it was the best decision we made. As soon as we visited Fernhill House we knew it was perfect for us. The venue is beautiful (in all weathers) and the professionalism of all the staff does not go unnoticed.

Ann was amazing throughout the entire process and nothing was ever a problem to sort. Ann was incredibly calm, considerate and always smiling. Ann was able to plan and advise how to make the day run as smoothly as possible, and it did!

Myself and my bridesmaids got ready in the venue and were looked after so well by all the staff. The room is beautifully light and spacious and we had such a great time getting ready.

Our ceremony took place in the new Fernery which is beautifully light, spacious and looks onto the gorgeous gardens.

Steve and I got married at Fernhill House Hotel in February 2025. Through Anns support we booked the wedding with five months notice. We were conscious we were trying to organise a wedding in a very short time frame but we didn't need to worry. Ann, the O'Neill family and the rest of the staff made everything seamless. They are efficient, clear, helpful, knowledgeable and the food was absolutely unreal. So glad we celebrated in Fernhill.

Myself and my wife Emma got married in Fernhill house on the 28/12/24. To say the day went well would be an understatement. The staff at Fernhill are the most professional I have ever encountered, no stone was left unturned. From day one Ann ensured that everything was taken care of and the day went off without a single glitch as a result! The food was amazing and people are still talking about the level of service! We had our wedding on October 25th in Fernhill House Hotel, the venue is exceptional. From the moment we met Anne during our first visit, we knew this was where we wanted to celebrate our wedding. We just want to say the biggest thank you to all the amazing staff and management of Fernhill House Hotel and especially to the fabulous Ann and Laura. The day we viewed the hotel, we knew it was for us. Ann and Laura were so helpful throughout the whole planning process and it was so lovely that they were present for the main day. We had the best day and it is all to the hard work and dedication from all in Fernhill House Hotel. The food was divine and there was plenty of it. One of our neighbours who is a farmer said he couldn’t eat until midday the next day as he was well fed. The gardens and the house itself are spectacular which led to brilliant photos. We could not fault anything and we will definitely be recommending Fernhill to couples planning their big day. Everything about Fernhill House Hotel is just brilliant.

It's hard to express how incredible Fernhill are in every aspect of planning and hosting a wedding. We got married on 13th September in the absolutely stunning gardens of Fernhill, with our drinks reception in and around the marquee afterwards, and dinner in the main hall in the hotel. Every single part of the day was perfect, and we had comments from all of our guests complementing each part of the day, noting how stunning the venue was, how relaxing and tranquil the ceremony & drinks reception were in the gardens, and how good the food was - everyone commented on the excellence of the food.

Our bridal party got ready in Fernhill’s beautiful Woodfield room that morning and were so well taken care of, including a lovely breakfast and as much coffee (or mimosas) as needed! Our suppliers also noted how they are always so well taken care of at Fernhill. A special thank you to Abby who was an absolute treasure for the bridal party during the morning.

Fernhill is family owned and operated, and you really feel that. Right from the off, their flexibility in responding to our requests was noticable, and the atmosphere and friendliness on the day itself is definitely noticable. A special shout out to Ciara who was our wonderful top table server & also babysitter that night! The staff seem well looked after and happy, which is always great to see.

One specific example, we arranged tea / coffee / scones for a small group before the ceremony started. On the day, 1 guest (to everyone's surprise) mentioned they were coeliac and couldn't eat the scones. Without anyone asking, about 30 mins later, out comes a plate of freshly baked gluten-free scones. This sums up Fernhill - it just got taken care of, without anyone asking, with no fuss. Just incredible!

The O’Neill family are always around and very involved in ensuring the day goes well, particularly Neil and Michael Jr. We met Neil at our tasting during a Sunday lunch, where he gave us extra special care and attention. Neil was also there throughout the wedding day itself to ensure everything went smoothly, he was even serving tables during the dinner!

And finally, a huge shoutout to Ann Cullinane, our wedding coordinator at Fernhill. We organized our wedding from abroad (we live in Canada) and Ann was always available and always quick to respond. Nothing was an issue, and everything was met with “We'll take care of that, no problem”. We didn't have to worry about a thing on the day, and Ann made sure everything was prepped and organized, but all very much in the background and with no fuss. So professional, so friendly!

We had 140 at our wedding, and Fernhill (with their beautiful rooms) and Clonakilty town were more than capable of accommodating everyone. We even had guests that stayed for the whole weekend to experience the beautiful town and West Cork!

We're extremely lucky to have gotten Fernhill for our wedding, it was one of the last dates available in the Summer / Autumn, and we were so fortunate. If you're looking for a venue with attention to detail, a lovely atmosphere, exquisite food and even better service, you should definitely check out Fernhill!

Ann, Laura and the entire team at Fernhill are just amazing. We knew from the second we walked around the gardens that we wanted to have our ceremony there. Fernhill made everything so easy for us and we didn't need to worry about anything on the day of our wedding.

From the moment we met the wedding coordinator Ann Cullinane, we were filled we peace and reassurance that she would do everything in her power to give us the best day of our life…and she absolutely did. Ann’s efficient communication was exceptional and her attention to detail was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble and she made all of our dreams come true. The day ran like clockwork, due to Ann’s meticulous planning and organisational skills. The feed back from the hundreds of guests was overwhelmingly positive.

The O’Neill Family welcomed us so warmly for a weekend that we will remember forever. The quality of service and food was exceptional throughout. Every staff member was so helpful from initial bookings, accommodation, waiting staff and reception staff.

When we met with Ann, she was incredibly friendly, approachable, helpful and professional, everything a Wedding Coordinator should be, and more. I felt like no question was too silly to ask, and she was always on hand to answer any calls or emails.
We got married here July 10th 2022, and throughout the rollercoaster of the pandemic, Ann always kept in touch, and we had an absolutely amazing day. From the morning of the wedding and the delicious breakfast they arranged, to the perfectly timed (and hidden!) golf cart trip to the ceremony space, to the incredible drinks reception and then to the fabulous dinner and dancing - it all ran like clockwork, and absolutely none of our wishes were omitted (Ann really did get my vision for the decorations!).

I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Ann and the entire team at Fernhill. We had our ceremony in the gardens and reception on site. There was amazing communication the whole way from booking our date, and no request or question was ever a problem. We couldn't have had the entire planning process made any easier. On the day, Ann and the whole O?Neill family were always on hand, friendly, flexible and and so kind, and really made our day. We loved it and would recommend Fernhill to anyone planning their wedding.

We had such a great day in Fernhill! The service on the day was excellent and everyone commented on how lovely the venue was (the hotel itself, and the gardens), as well as how amazing the food was. We heard from a lot of our guests that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! The value for money was excellent and Ann was so flexible when we kept having to change our numbers and table plan due to our guests getting covid before the big day! There was also never any pressure from the hotel and, at least from our side, it felt so relaxed and easy-going. It was lovely to have a chat with the owners on the day too, and you could see there is real pride of their venue and gorgeous personal touches from the O'Neill family as well! Just wish we could do it all over again!!

Fernhill are exceptional, from walking in the door for the first meeting and viewing, to long after the wedding day. Their reputation; is quite deservedly legendary; but to to actually experience their kindness, attention to detail and sheer professionalism is astounding. What a pleasure from our first meeting with Ann, who answered questions we didn't even know we had, to Mike senior looking after us the following day with treats from the kitchen at 2am to the beautiful setting and gardens and delicious food.

From the beginning the o Neill family hotel owners Ann Cullinane wedding coordinator were outstanding as my daughters wedding was postponed for a year due to Covid-19. They went over to help her feel less stress and made sure every question was answered promptly which made the day so much easier. The quality of the food and attention to detail was amazing.

We had our wedding Fernhill House hotel and Gardens in May this year and we had the most amazing weekend! From planning it all from abroad, to the most amazing weekend, they were just flawless. The wedding Coordinator Ann is simply outstanding at what she does and the entire day passed by without a single hitch. She talked me through every step of the day and was so responsive to my endless emails during the planning!
The O' Neills were amazing and so lovely to meet and all the staff were wonderful too. All the guests have not stopped raving about what a great day we all had and how amazing the food was. I am so happy with everything and couldn't pick one negative thing if I tried.

A fantastic service by Fernhill for our wedding in August this year. Beautiful ceremony in the amazing garden setting. The service from before the big day, right the way through was second to none. Anne is wonderful at her job and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you so much for all that you did in our organising.

Myself and my wife had our wedding in Fernhill on NYE 2019 and had an amazing experience. Fernhill were excellent from start to finish, nothing we asked for was too much trouble and they really made things so easy. Our guests complimented us on the reception and really enjoyed their meal. Fernhill provided with a beautiful location to share our humanist ceremony, drinks reception and meal with our friends and family. The warmth and attention to detail that was shown to us was exeptional - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a venue for anyone especially if you want to have a civil ceremony on site.

We had a fantastic wedding in Fernhill House and Gardens. The weather was fantastic and we we had our ceremony outdoors in the beautiful gardens. The marquee was beautiful for the drinks reception. The drinks were plentiful and there was a generous selection of canapes. Everything on the day ran very smoothly and Ann and Neil were at hand for the day and night. The dinner was delicious and the evening food was great. All of the guests commented on how nice the food was. Ann was always at the end of the phone or email and was extremely helpful with her local and practical recommendations. The venue was very flexible regarding the type of relaxed day we wanted. I would highly recommend Fernhill House as a wedding venue.

Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens is an amazing venue. The beautiful gardens, marquee & quaint welcoming house / reception areas are perfect for an exclusive wedding. It is run to impeccable standards by the O'Neill family & all their staff. They were a pleasure to deal with from day 1 to the day after our wedding. Our guests were blown away by their service. Could not fault the hotel / management in the slightest! No hesitation in recommending Fernhill for a wedding / celebration venue.

There isn't one thing I could fault about either the lead up or our wedding day itself. Nothing was ever too much to ask the team at Fernhill, and they did everything possible to ensure that our day went exactly the way we wanted it too. The food was amazing, as was the service and attention to detail. Everything about the day was so relaxed, exactly as we had wished for, and if we could do it all over again we would!

From the first meeting with Neil right through to the day itself, all of the team at the Fernhill House Hotel in Clonakilty played such a big part in making our wedding day such a fantastic, relaxed day. I would definitely recommend fernhill house hotel as a wedding venue. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the staff and management were absolutely fantastic and were more than helpful in helping us organise the wedding and on our wedding day. I lost count of the compliments we received on our choice of venue.

From the day we booked all our requirements were dealt with, Caroline and the o Neill family gave us great advice with ideas for our civil ceremony and meal, Our day went stress free from cermony to an outstanding drinks reception with fabulous finger food . The main reception was held in the dining room, where all stops were pulled out to accommodate our intimate day. The meal and service was so excellent every guest (85) complimented on it . could not say enough about the staff at Fernhill they were amazing.nothing was too much to ask the efficiency and friendliness of all the waiters on the day was nothing short of perfection. a very big thank you to Caroline for always saying 'no problem' and for answering my endless questions. it was truly the most perfect day.

Excellent venue, nothing was an issue, they were very accommodating and made planning our wedding so easy! We loved the day, food was devine, the gardens are spectacular and the service was second to none. Highly recommend this venue!

We highly recommend fernhill house as a wedding venue especially as it was for us for a civil ceremony....the option was there to hold ceremony in the garden or in the marquee ..We chose the marquee which was totally prepared for the day by the hotels owners and the hotels own wedding planner caroline. The venue took our breath away when we saw it on the day from the red carpet lined by candles to the beautiful altar decorated with candles and flowers all provided by the hotel ..The marquee was then turned around in the blink of an eye to the venue for our drinks reception. Our guests enjoyed cocktails and hot canapés there while we had our photographs done in the beautiful designed garden. Dinner was then served "westcork" style in the main hotel and by that I mean abundant servings of beautiful fresh local products...what then followed was a night of danceing late into the night only broken by the arrival of "fish &chips"around 11 pm to keep us going..i cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. It is easy to see that it is a family run hotel as you ar treated just like family the whole way through with also the use of the hotel own wedding planner at the end if the phone should you need her. I want to take this opportunity to thank the staff for making our special day so effortless..best wishes violet &.denis x

We were so lucky to have had our wedding in Fernhill. It was such an amazing day with the ceremony outside in the sun, drinks in the marquee and meal in the function room. We have had so many comments on the beautiful venue from our guests and one or two are now even considering booking it themselves!
Caroline and Neil were incredibly helpful and positive from the moment we met them and were extremely flexible. The staff on the day set out all our little decorations in the most professional way, and Michael the owner ferried guests around in his golf cart!
The food was of a very high standard - not your typical 'wedding food' at all! We stayed up playing music and having fun in the residents bar until the early hours of the morning and the bar staff were very patient with us.
Our only wish is that we could go back and relive the day all over again!

Our wedding reception in Fernhill House hotel was truely amazing. From start to finish all our needs were catered for. While they could not control the weather and even though the rain was torrential the hotel were still fantastic and the rain certainly did not dampen our experience. They cracked a bottle of champers when we arrived, when we cut the cake and had a bottle chilled for us in the bridal suite. The food was fine dining at its best. All in all I can't praise this hotel enough. Thanks to all the staff.

From day one dealing with all the team in fernhill was fantastic. Lynn and I could not have been more pleased with the level of service and expertise afforded to us by each and every member of staff in Fernhill. We really had no worries leading up to and on our big day. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest details.

We got married here in July 2016 and I cannot speak highly enough of this venue. The welcome we received on our first viewing of the venue from Caroline won us over and the pre-wedding communication and organisation was A+ without any stress. The staff could not have been more accommodating and professional and went over and above their call of duty in so many ways; things you just would not get in another hotel i.e. using their own cars to transports guests from the hotel to the marquee because of the rain, the owner giving us a few bars in the residents lounge at 4am! Their friendliness, alertness and efficiency made our day run seamlessly well. Next, the food! Wow! The presentation, the choice, the quality and the abundance meant each and every guest was catered for and staff accommodated many dietary requirements with no fuss. Lastly the venue was pristine. There was not a leaf out of place in the gardens, the flowers and colours are the perfect setting for photos and the marquee and dining room were stunning. Could go on with positives forever but to sum up I would not have changed a single thing about the day. Fantastic from start to finish! Thanks to the O'Neills and their crew at Fernhill for a day we will never forget!

The team at Fernhill did an outstanding job for our wedding reception, the service we received was excellent and the food was outstanding. The staff provided excellent service both prior to and on our wedding day and we were very happy with how the whole day went.

A truly fantastic day. The hotel and gardens were looking immaculate as always. The family run etiquette shone through at all times in the build-up to the big day and made us both feel confident we were in good hands.

The marquee for the pre-drinks reception on the beautiful gardens is the icing on the cake and went down extremely well with the guests.The ball room was stunning and the bridal suite and guest rooms were extremely comfortable.

We also availed of the marquee for the day after the wedding for a barbecue with many of our family, friends and their children and this was a fitting end to a great weekend in Fernhill House.

The service throughout both days was astounding and anything we had requested in the lead up or on the big day itself was not only met but exceeded expectations.

We would recommend this hotel to any couple for their special day and can say with utmost confidence they will not be disappointed.

The staff at Fernhill were amazing leading up to and the day of our wedding. They were Friendly, hard working and catered-for all our guests needs.
Everyone spoke to me about how much food and drink they got on the day and there was no shortage of it which is always a good sign of a wedding.
The drinks reception was beautiful, and all my guests enjoyed it especially the children as they could run around the gardens.
Fernhill were easy to work with and found the whole experience a pleasure.
On the lead up to the day, we would get emails saying this is what we need to do next ect and it made organising the wedding easier.
Also they responded quickly to any queries we had.

Our wedding was on 1st Oct 2010. We chose Fernhill as our reception venue and it contributed greatly to our wonderful day. We knew from it's great reputation that we were in safe hands. Caroline and Teresa were a great help during the planning stages and on the day itself. We were lucky enough to get to use the marquee for our drinks reception. All the guests were impressed with it as it really kept the crowd together and was something different not available at other hotels. Also the younger guests had loads of room to run around the gardens! Every course of the meal was delicious and the personalised menus, complete with photo, were a lovely touch. The guests are still raving about the food (both quality and quantity!) and they couldn't believe the efficiency of the table service. Military is the only word to describe it!! Many people have told us it was the best meal they ever had at a wedding. Everything to do with the hotel is professional but you also get the very important personal touch. We would like to extend a massive thank you to all the staff for making our day so special. There is not one second we would change.

We were married on 21 August 2010. Our wedding reception was held in Fernhill House Hotel, Clonakilty. We are currently on honeymoon but have taken time out to acknowledge the truly fantasic job that Teresa and Michael O'Neil did to make our special day so much more than special.
Teresa has a keen eye for detail and no request was too much. She helped us enormously both in the preparations and on the day. The service that the O'Neil family and their staff provided was professional, personal and second to none.
Our drinks reception was held in the spacious marquee while our photos were taken in the adjoining gardens. This meant that we were alongside our guests at all times. The meal was absolutely magnificent with real West Cork helpings. We received so many compliments afterwards on our choice of venue and meal.
The evening food was as top quality as the main meal with a few surprises thrown in. If you want a reception with a difference - choose this hotel.

After a long day of visiting hotels, searching for that special wedding venue we arrived at Fernhill House. We were greeted by Teresa the proprietor, with a welcoming smile and served tea and home-made scones. That was it, our minds were made up. !!!!It is those little touches that create the unique family-like warm atmosphere of Fernhill. Teresa seems to present an almost maternal interest in you and your wedding day, and Caroline the wedding co-ordinator is as helpful and warm as that extra bridesmaid!
But it is not just the fabulous staff that helped make our day so special. One of my favourite memories of the big day was the drinks reception held in the marquee-another unique feature of the hotel. It is situated in the middle of the beautifully landscaped gardens. Guests mingled and enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception in the beautiful sunshine, (We were blessed!!!!). Meanwhile our photographer was able to get some great snaps in the gardens.
We had heard of the great reputation Fernhill has for food and I am glad to say we were not disappointed!!!Guests from the wedding are still talking about the meal that was served up on the day, many saying it was the best meal they ever received at a wedding. There was a great choice when choosing the menu, guests were given plenty, and service and presentation was second to none!!!!
I can't praise Fernhill, Teresa, Caroline and all the staff enough for making our wedding day so very special and memorable. Nothing was too much trouble and they really took the pressure off with all the preparations.
The morning after our wedding, I was almost surprised at the buzz around the hotel as they were all busily preparing for that days wedding. The care and attention we were given had us almost convinced that we were the only couple to have ever gotten married in Fernhill!!!
