Ghan House, Carlingford

When deciding where to have our wedding, Carlingford was always going to be top of the list, having been the location for many a weekend away throughout our relationship. And believe it or not, whilst never having been inside or sampled any of the food, we always mused that Ghan House looked like the perfect and ideal location for a quiet and intimate wedding day. Needless to say when we finally got engaged, (and Covid restrictions lifted!) we followed our hearts and went with our gut instinct, never thinking to look anywhere else ?just in case?, and honestly it was the best decision we ever made!

From the minute we walked in and spoke with the owner Paul, we knew we?d found the ideal location to host our wedding. We were instantly put at ease, felt right at home, and knew we were in safe hands with people who would want our day to be as perfect as we did.

We honestly can't thank the team enough for everything they did for us, from an amazing family dinner the night before, to decorating the whole house with our vast array of pruck(!), to bending over backwards at our smallest whim throughout the wedding day and evening reception; nothing ever seemed to be a bother to the staff, who were so friendly, beyond accommodating and who worked their backsides off from start to finish! It truly was first class service, and hospitality at its absolute finest! A five star hotel couldn't compete!

To say we were impressed and overwhelmed by everything Ghan House did for us would be an understatement and does a discredit to what they provide and cater for. We will be forever grateful to them for giving us the most relaxed, enjoyable and unforgettable wedding day we could have dreamed of!
