We had the most incredible day at the Maryborough Hotel, Ellis couldn?t have done more for us and was part of our entire wedding journey! Thank you to all at the Maryborough for making our day a dream!

Our experience of the Maryborough was superb from first engagement to the day itself. The team are excellent and professional, Ellis O Connell is particular was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She made the entire planning of our wedding so easy- I was told multiple times I was the most laid back bride, that was down to Ellis and all the team having everything so well organised.
Food was excellent, all our guests gave positive reviews.
Cannot recommend the Maryborough enough! We had the best day, and would chose the Maryborough again without hesitation!

Could not recommend the Maryborough team more! Everything was taken care of, nothing was too much for them and it was a dream from start to finish. The venue is beautiful and the food was amazing. Ellis, Clare, Shane, Brian and the whole team were incredible! 10/10!

Where to even begin, from the very beginning to the very end the Maryborough could not have been more perfect. Every question, every email, every phone call was answered in a timely manner. Minor details that I had mentioned in passing was taken care of. I had concerns about dinner needing to be served on time so dancing could start at a particular time, I had no need to worry. Menu changes were made without hesitation, the reception area was decorated with props I had delivered the week of the wedding to an incredibly high standard, guest requests for drinks/food changes were sought to.
As for being looked after as a couple there was not one thing we had to worry or think about. All the staff knew exactly what they needed to do and where they should be. We never had to worry about what we needed to do next or where we should be, what we should be doing, the staff were on top of it all. The ran the day down to a tee.
I could not reiterate how incredible they made our day be.

I lack words to explain the incredible experience that my wife and I lived at the Maryborough Hotel for our wedding. We are a Costa Rican couple who got engaged in Ireland while living in Dublin and only in October 2022 we moved to Cork. Our search led us to find this impressive hotel as one of the options to celebrate our reception and wedding dinner in July 2023.

Event coordinator Ellis O'Connell was essential for us to choose this site within a few days after arriving in the county to be the centre of our post-ceremony celebration. She listened carefully to our expectations and proposed all the adjustments to the standard packages within what were possible to celebrate this particular wedding. I am sure that neither Ellis nor the Maryborough Hotel had ever worked in the organisation of a Costa Rican-style wedding, but that was not an impediment to their tremendous adaptability to our personal circumstances.

Our celebration was small, as you can imagine from two people who had little time to live in Ireland but at no time did that mean that the hotel staff treated us as less important, but quite the opposite: they made us feel received and accompanied in the planning. Ellis collaborated with us with all the comforts that the hotel could make available to us, she shared her list of suppliers for any additional we wanted to add outside the contracted package, met and communicated with us as many times as we wanted and explained in detail what the entire schedule would be like from our arrival at the hotel to the end of the party, and was attentive to any detail that we requested, such as playing the song of our first dance in the sound system of the ballroom, the food particularities of some guests and many other examples.

The menu tasting was also an delightful experience: the restaurant manager received and directed us to the prepared table while introducing to an experienced waiter whose name I unfortunately do not remember but his magnificent service I do. He would be the one who would fulfil the function of serving the prepared dishes and also explaining in detail the different wines recommended and how they were combined with the flavours prepared by the chef so that we could make an informed decision. It was an exquisite evening with my fianc?e, with time to eat and between dishes perfect time to be able to taste and talk. The whole menu was exquisite and we only requested a change in a dessert with respect to all the original choices. The hotel staff organised a new date for us to taste the new chosen dessert, since no detail is left to chance and without prior approval, which we thought was wonderful.

We arrived at the hotel the night before and all the staff treated us like king and queen: from the receptionists, duty management, porters, waiters. We were staying in the bridal suite since the night before which was extremely advantageous for my fianc?e the next day to prepare without problems. We rested in a huge bed with peace in our heart knowing that we would do something beautiful the next day, and that we should not worry about anything about the hotel because the staff inspired us to be confident that everything would go well from the logistics part. And so it did.

The morning of the wedding the service during breakfast was outstanding, my fianc?e and all the other people who got prepared for the event in the suite were served with delicious drinks and snacks in the morning while preparing for the afternoon, and when everyone was ready they went down the stairs on a red carpet worthy of royalty heading to the church.

After the ceremony, upon arrival we were greeted by the shift manager and the reception staff, with the red carpet and a drink to toast to our union. We entered the Orangery room for the reception and it was perfectly decorated, with the doors open for those who wanted to enjoy outdoors the lovely inner gardens on a wonderful clear summer afternoon.

After a few hours at the reception we went to the ballroom where the attentions and the excellent service did nothing but improve. We always had a manager nearby in case of need for anything. All the attendees were impressed with the service and the food. At the time of the party we were even told how the staff came curious to see through the bar of the ballroom, since they had never been present at a wedding between Costa Ricans and we do not celebrate like the Irish. We found that detail very funny, and also understandable.

The next morning we were able to pick up all the small unique details of our wedding and take them home, to evaluate what to do with them and not that the hotel or others decided it. This seemed very important to me because it shows respect for the event and the details that may be important for the newly married couple. Even weeks later, once we returned from the Honeymoon, we still had to return for items forgotten by some guests, which also demonstrates the great honesty of all the workers.

We recommend this wonderful hotel to celebrate any event with eyes shut. They have their 4 stars completely deserved and I would give them 10 more for how they treated us throughout the process of our marriage.

We had the most amazing wedding experience with the Maryborough Hotel. A year out we secured our date and booked via a Zoom meeting from Australia. In the leap up, nothing was a hassle and Ellis was able to accommodate all our requests. It was a really enjoyable experience to plan our wedding from afar with her and on the day we were really relaxed knowing she had everything sorted. The grounds for the hotel are amazing, all our guests complimented the choice and the only thing we would change is an extra night in the bridal suite as it was just gorgeous. If we could get married again, our first choice would be the Maryborough Hotel. We look forward to returning in the years to come to celebrate our anniversary.

Our wedding was the best day and the setting at the Maryborough was beautiful. Our ceremony in the orangery was amazing, and all our guests agreed.
Ellis was excellent from start to finish. However I can?t say the same about the management on the day of our wedding. They didn?t follow notes/Passover from Ellis. This caused a lot of errors on the day, including not know our names, which I found very unprofessional.
Every guest has complemented the food, and I would have to agree. It is outstanding at the Maryborough.

The venue and the setting in the woods is magical and great for photos. All our guests spoke very highly of the food. The staff were very accommodating and Carmel in room bookings was super. From our ceremony in the orangery to our reception in the banquet hall the day couldn't have been more special or beautiful. Ellis and her team helped make our day truly unforgettable.

We had a great experience with the Maryborough Hotel from time of booking right through until after our wedding. No questions were left unanswered, we were left reassured on any queries and everything went perfectly well on the day. All the staff there so helpful and friendly. We had our ceremony in the Orangery and from beginning to end there were plenty of staff available to help on the day. I received some great feedback from my guests on the food, so huge thank you to the chef. There were a few amendments on the menu choices on the day and there was no issue with this. Again the staff on the day were brilliant, the venue was perfect for us. Really cannot recommend the Maryborough enough for a wedding from beginning to end they are a delight to work with. We got married at the Maryborough hotel in June 2022 and it was the best decision we made! The staff were so friendly and professional. They went above and beyond for us to ensure everything ran smoothly. Even with big changes on the actual day due to nonstop raining. Nothing was a problem and they made me feel so at ease throughout the entire experience. They had everything organised to perfection. Even when I was walking down the aisle, they explained where to stand, when to walk and even spread out my train for me. We were married last summer during the Covid 19 restrictions, at a time of great uncertainty. However, Ellis and her team at the Maryborough couldn't have been more accommodating and flexible. We had an incredible wedding experience at the Maryborough and wouldn't change a thing. Ellis and her team are highly organised, welcoming and supportive. We were taken care of so well on our big day, no task was too small! Due to the smaller guest numbers, we had our entire celebration in the beautiful Orangery Conservatory and the decor was simply stunning. We had a wide variety of choice in our wedding menu and the meals were simply sublime. I couldn't recommend the Maryborough Hotel highly enough as a wedding venue - in fact we decided to return again this year to have a second wedding celebration!

We recently had our amazing wedding day at The Maryborough Hotel. To us there was no where else that we wanted to have our wedding, the setting of The Orangery for ceremony and drinks reception is second to none and people are still complementing us on this setting. The Sherrard Suite is also a fabulous setting for the meal and evening entertainment, with personalised mood lighting, background music and a bright, spacious room, with its own bar and toilet facilities an added bonus. The staff were all fantastic on the day and helped in anyway they could to make our day as special as possible with special mentions to Ellis Dunmill (Wedding Coordinator), Shiby Karan (Banqueting Manager) & Mia Bronotte (Front of House Manager). The Maryborough was absolutely amazing from start to finish. They made our wedding day and the experience before and after the day so special. Ellis was outstanding from her experience, personality and professionalism. All of the staff made us feel like one in a million on the day.

The Maryborough exceeded all our expectations and we couldn't recommend them more. From our first viewing of the the hotel to the day after the wedding, the staff couldn't have done more for us. They treated all our guests so well and everyone spoke so highly of the staff and the venue. The grounds are beautiful for pictures and the hotel itself is the perfect mix of modern dining area with a look of a classic country house hotel at the front. The famous orangery where we had our drinks reception was the selling point for us and blew all our guests away. Ellis and Orla were fantastic to deal with and we really felt like we were the only wedding they had to deal with!
The location is 10 minutes from Cork city centre but feels like you're in the middle of the countryside when you're inside the grounds.

We had our wedding in August 2018 at the Maryborough. We live in Australia so most of our contact was through email prior to the week before the wedding. I cannot stress how wonderful and helpful their wedding co coordinator Ellis is! She did her best to accommodate all our needs and queries. The day of the wedding Ellis was amazing, she made sure everything was perfect for us. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out four days later the Maryborough staff and management were a pleasure!Whether it be a waiter or management everyone there was so nice and made us so welcome. I would recommend to anyone to have their wedding there.

If I were to do it all again I would 100% do it in the Maryborough. Right from the beginning they couldn't do enough and had any requests I had were immediately sorted. Always going above and beyond. Elis even put my flats by my seat without me asking!! The food was amazing and loads of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they ever had...and the best wedding. The night staff had no problem bringing anything up to the bridal suite and couldnt have been better. Tmaryborough really made it the best day of our lives.

The reception in the Orangery was absolutely spectacular and more than we could ever have hoped for. It felt magical, warm and inviting, a reflection of the hotel and its superb staff. Our family and friends are still talking about how relaxed and elegant everything was and how much fun they had. Several people told us it was the most beautiful they had attended. It most definitely was for me :) The Sherrard Suite was incredibly stunning, and the food exceptional. Our guests were blown away by the quality of their meal. We even had birthday cake delivered to one of our guests which was completely unplanned, it?s the little things like this that make The Maryborough stand out. A special thanks to Brian, the manager with us on the day who went above and beyond. He was so kind, helpful and attentive and also to Carmel & Sarah at reservations who were always so happy to help with any query that arose. We were always made feel at home anytime we visited and nothing was ever too much trouble.

If anyone is looking for a coordinator that will guide you through the entire planning process and see through the day of,with both the highest professionalism and finesse, I promise you will not go wrong with Nimah McCarthy. I'm a bit of a control freak (being honest) but felt so comfortable having her steer through the day - and she pulled off WAY better than I envisioned. She was the go to person coordinating everything on our behalf. There was never a doubt in our minds choosing The Maryborough, it was the Best decision we made. I mean it without doubt.

We had an such a fantastic day at Maryborough Hotel and we could not have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding. Shane and all the staff couldn't have done more for us and our guests. Everyone was blown away by the gardens, the orangery, the food and how amazing all the staff were. From start to finish everything was brilliant. Melanie was our wedding co-ordinator and provided us with constant help and guidance. We were living in New York and she was always available over the phone which made planning the wedding from abroad so much easier. We had a brilliant day at The Maryborough. The staff were excellent and the level of professionalism is to be commended. The Orangery sold the hotel to us. It is such a great room for a wedding. The food, reception room, the guest rooms, the grounds are superb. The hotel is modern and sleek and traditional at the same time. We couldn't recommend it enough.

The whole experience was amazing. We looked at a few hotels but once we sat with Niamh the events manager I was sold! I just trusted that they would deliver the wedding of our dreams and they didn't disappoint!! The food was beautiful and the orangery is just so beautiful for your drinks reception. All of the staff were just so helpful during the day and you were made feel like you were the first wedding they had ever had in the hotel! I was weak for myself if I'm honest!! Even the security staff at night were just so pleasant and even though it was all hours of the morning! I wish I could do it all again!!! Amazing! Just loved this venue!

Absolutely fantastic venue and the most professional and helpful staff I have ever come across. From the moment we met with Niamh in January 2014 we knew the Maryborough was the place for our wedding. Nothing was ever a problem for the staff at the Maryborough. Niamh helped us organise everything from the day of the wedding to the following day. It was the most amazing day of our lives and we can not thank everyone in the Maryborough enough.

We couldn't have been happier with our wedding day at the Maryborough Hotel. From the moment we booked the date they made sure every detail was looked after. The new orangery was beautiful for the reception and was ideal for photos. The food was gorgeous just as it was at our tasting meal. We were so well looked after by Dominic on the day we didn't have to worry about a thing and could relax and enjoy the day. We had an amazing day. Mary was our contact and she made us feel so assured . Mary was always so patient and always available to help, We so appreciated it and the piece of mind provided was priceless, We will be recommending the Maryborough to friends and family.The staff on the day were excellent so polite and obliging, Dominic was great, Neilius was also so helpful and even provided plasters and slippers when my feet were killing me from all the dancing! Katie was also so lovely the next morning at breakfast and could not have done more for us. We felt almost like celebrities in the hotel we were treated so well. The room was also so beautiful and everything we wanted was in the exact place we wanted it in. The Maryborough and all the wonderful staff helped make our day so special.

Absolutely loved having my wedding here! My advice for future brides is, don't be afraid to come forward with any ideas you have that might be outside the box. The Maryborough went above and beyond to make sure we had our outdoor ceremony even though they hadn't done one before. They surpassed my expectations and wowed our guests!

This is a long overdue email to say thank you to you for all your help with organising the wedding . You were fabulous to us and thank you so much for all the effort and organising you did. From start to finish we had the most magical day and a huge part of that was due to you ,Sarah Dominic and all the staff at the Maryborough. It was everything and more We could of ever asked or wished for.

All of our friends and family are still talking about what a fantastic hotel it was , between the beautiful grounds,gorgeous bedrooms,amazing spa , friendly and welcoming staff and the food was absolutely out of this world . We couldn't recommend it enough , the whole weekend was just more then I could of ever imagined.

I have to say that Dominic made everything so easy for us over the weekend , he is an absolute professional and gentleman , it was such a pleasure to have him work with us. I have never met such an efficient , hard working , calm and friendly person .

We are so looking forward to coming to stay again as are most of our friends and family .

It?s hard to know where to begin to thank the Maryborough Hotel and all their staff for all they did for us on our wedding day. From the moment we met Niamh we knew we were in safe hands. Her attentiveness, professionalism and positive demeanour made her an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Niamh understood exactly what we wanted from our day and made sure it was all in place for us which made planning our wedding a much more positive experience. I always knew Niamh was at the end of the phone or an email with a rapid response and suggestions should any query arise. In the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself, every member of staff we met were so welcoming, there is a real feeling of family from the team in the Maryborough. Dominic was the manager on duty the day of our wedding, which was also the day Ireland won the Six Nations! Dominic spoke to us when we arrived in relation to the possibility of pushing the time of the meal until after the game, obviously we couldn?t drag our guests away from the game and we are glad we took his advice. Our concern that the food would suffer as a result should not have been entertained as the food was impeccable, so much so all our guests are still talking about it.



All in all I would not have any hesitation in recommending the Maryborough Hotel to any couple, every aspect of the day was perfect and the team are true professionals who are with you every step of the way. And Niamh is an absolute star!

From the minute we walked into Maryborough House for our wedding show around we were impressed. We met with Niamh who was professional, friendly and answered all our questions and really helped us in every way she could. Having lived in Cork until recently we regularly visited Maryborough House for family occasions but we really had no idea how special it was going to be for our wedding. Lots of friends and family traveled from Galway, Offaly and Dubai to the wedding and are still talking about the beautiful setting, the gardens, the delicious food, the luxurious bedrooms and the excellent service. We have so much to thank you for Niamh. The wedding just exceeded our expectations in every way. Everything at Maryborough was just perfect. Not a single thing went wrong. I'm just sorry I wasn't a guest at the wedding because I felt I couldn't appreciate it properly everything was just passing me by in a daze.

All our guests just could not believe how great it all was. Sean was just amazing on the day. He looked after us, our parents and all the guests so well and nothing was a problem to him. We had the best day of our lives it goes without saying and we couldn't have done it without all your help and guidance throughout the past few months. You are a true professional and a credit to the hotel and we really enjoyed meeting you and working with you! Thanks so much for everything I do not think we will ever be able to thank you enough.

Sean was fantastic for the main event and looked after our every need with great professionalism. The entire day went off without a single hitch. The food was superb and thanks to Gerry and all his staff for that. All the staff for our wedding did an amazing job and we are so glad we chose the Maryborough. We booked the Maryborough house hotel in Feb 2012 for our wedding on the 6th July 2012. Between those dates we made many an excuse to go to the hotel simply to soak up what can only be described as a little bit of heaven.

Like all newlyweds we kept on saying ?it was the best day in my life? and i believe all of the hardworking staff in the Maryborough had a considerable role in making it so. Each member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and helpful from the reception staff to the banqueting and bar staff. We had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Niamh Mc Carthy when co-ordinating the wedding.

All of her advice was spot on and much appreciated. From day one i had great confidence in all of the staff, it became clear that they have a lot of experience in catering for weddings and are experts in their field.

The wedding packages available offer great quality and value. We loved the bridal suite, the style was in keeping with the grand old house, however it had all the mod cons and was very comfortable and spacious. Some of the staff came out to wave the bridal party off when we went to the church.

A small gesture but it really was a lovely touch and reflects excellent hospitality. The canap?s and drinks reception in the marquee was lovely. It was enjoyed by all even though the rain was pouring from the heavens in the beautiful gardens. The wedding meal was incredible, we were delighted. For weeks afterwards we were getting high praise for the standard of food. It really was a beautiful meal and it got better with each course.

Besides the wedding period we have overnighted in the hotel on several occasions and were always delighted with our rooms. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The Deluxe rooms have a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and the Jacuzzi bath is a lovely touch in the spa rooms. Many of our guests stayed in the hotel around the time of the wedding and had such positive feedback and many have plans to return to the Maryborough just for a bit of R&R.

The week before the wedding we had a fantastic relaxing massage as part of our package. The Spa is a beautiful space and i recommend folk to spend time in the thermal suite before your treatment. My husband was slightly reluctant initially, however i can safely say he is now planning to pop down to the Spa the next time we stay in the Maryborough.

We have been lucky to stay in several 5 star hotels in Ireland. Even immediately after the wedding we treated ourselves to a few nights in what is deemed to be one of Irelands top hotels and to be entirely honest the overall package offered to guests in the Maryborough is superior

For me it is the perfect hotel, the staff are professional and friendly, the interior is beautiful and homely, the rooms are comfortable with all the mod cons, the food outstanding. Well done to all who work there and to all that visit enjoy every minute.

We got married at the Maryborough in August this year. Before we saw the Maryborough, we`d been to a number of other hotels in Cork City and Kinsale, but as soon as we saw the Maryborough, our minds were made up. They were accomodating of our civil ceremony, the grounds and also the interior of the hotel is gorgeous and the staff, especially Sinead who we mainly dealt with, were fantastic from the word go. We found we had such an easy time dealing with Sinead that when we got close to the wedding it felt almost like we`d forgotten something major because everything went so smooth and there was no hassle- I had imagined (also from hearing other peoples` stories) that there`d be so much running around and stress- our day didn`t turn out like that at all. The hotel took care of every last detail, the food was amazing, all of our guests were well looked after and all loved the hotel. I can`t wait to see how our pictures turn out! Also, just as a final glowing endorsement- the bridal suite is out of this world- we didn`t see it until the day before the wedding and it took our breath away, you`ll be well & truly spoilt there!

We had the most magical day of our lives this march in the Maryborough hotel.

Every detail was catered for no matter how big or small. We spent many a morning with Elaine going through our thoughts and Elaine gave her expert opinion without fail. Eliane is like breath of fresh air, she was on the ball with everything and we were totally confident that our day would be very special.

Everything from start to finish was 100% perfect. Every member of the hotel staff and management were smiling, friendly and professional. All our guests raved about the food and atmosphere in the hotel. I even had someone tell me that our wedding was better than her own wedding! That was some complement as you well know every bride thinks their wedding is the best ever !!

We would do it all over again and change nothing.

We cannot recommend the Maryborough Hotel & Spa highly enough. From our first trip to the hotel, to the big day itself, Elaine and the rest of the staff could not do enough for us and were so helpful. Sean ensured that everything on the day flowed absolutely smoothly and we are so grateful to him and Elaine for making our day a very, very special one.

We still receive compliments from our guests about the day, with many still raving about the hotel's delicious food and excellent service - not an easy feat with over 200 guests to feed and cater for!
