Twin Trees Hotel

I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! From the start of our wedding prep 2 years ago Karen, Rachael and the staff looked after every minor detail with extreme care. They were helpful and attentive (didn't miss a thing!).

When our big day finally arrived the sun shone and our guests had a ball sitting in the gardens sipping punch awaiting our dinner. The meal was fabulous and the staff were very helpful to parents who needed extra requirements for children's needs.

loved when the lights were turned down and the "flaming" baked alaska was brought through the function room! A great photo opportunity. We danced and drank until the early hours and if we had to do it all again we would definitely pick this hotel. Fab fab fab :) Thank you all at the Downhill House Hotel for making our day do perfect.

My husband and I were married on 12 November 2011 at the Downhill Hotel in Ballina and it was 'simply perfect?. Following our engagement we succeeded in planning our entire wedding in just 3 months. We researched all the major hotels in Mayo and decided on the family run Downhill Hotel. As we live in England we relied heavily on the staff and management at the Downhill to help coordinate our day, which also meant we could reduce the amount of visits to and from Ireland. The cost of our wedding and discounts for guest accommodation and dinning certainly made the Downhill very completive in comparison to other venues.

The speed in which emails and telephone calls were dealt with made us feel very important and a priority in their eyes. At the Downhill it's the small things that make a big difference, like the range of staff remembering our names and that of our guests and what we liked for breakfast, or the recommendations made to those new to Mayo and to Ireland to explore the area.

The actual day went brilliantly, not to mention the day before and the day after where buffets were laid on for our guests. We had the freedom to request extras as nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb, the delivery was finessed and professional and the venue and gardens have certainly meant that we have stunning photos.

The greatest testament however does come from our guests, we had approximately 150 friends and family at our day, all of whom have commented on the great weekend they had and are still talking about it - so we really couldn't have asked for anything more.
