Brummell & Co.

We as a family went to collect my daughters wedding dress yesterday . They had postponed appointment a week ago & when my daughter rang them to confirm appointment for last Friday they had no knowledge of said appointment . She is having her alterations next weekend so needed to collect her dress . They then said they would fit her in yesterday . We arrived & a lovely lady took care of Grace, chatting her while she got dressed & everything seemed to be going well , unfortunately I don’t know the name of this lady she had blond hair . While she was trying to get the intricate detail of the dress together she asked a lady called Laura for help & that is when the whole experience went downhill as far as we were concerned .. Laura talked down to the lovely lady who had been so nice & her whole attitude was despicable . The atmosphere changed & she hadn’t a clue what she was doing .. I asked her would she just not check the dress which was exactly the same on the model as I didn’t like to see her using her bare hands clasping & unclasping a part of the dress in case it would get dirty before it even left the shop .. she asked me if I would I like to do it myself . I said’ No ‘but I felt she should know her job . I have never in my life met anyone working with the public to be so rude .. she eventually left us as another young lady came to choose a dress . Our original lady stayed with us & eventually we discovered that the dress is missing some fastenings … we left the shop & Athlone without taking any pictures of collecting our dress because of Laura’s attitude . Even though this bridal boutique has a good stock of dresses & the staff when buying the dress last year were wonderful, this lady yesterday would prevent me from ever shopping here again .. it’s a big day in a girl’s life , the day she tries on her dress in her proper size . Laura by her rude attitude & incompetence (she really didn’t have a clue how to put this dress together but wouldn’t admit it ) left me wondering how she could be working in such a job . We left without taking any pictures of collecting the dress as we just wanted to get out of there .

My sister is getting married at the end of the year, she had a horrible experience at this place.

Her appointment was for 3pm , she wasnt seen until 3.30pm (she got no apology for the wait ). The consultant told myself and my mum that my sister was a BRIDEZILLA (my sister hear these when changing), 3/4 of the dresses my sister put into were ridiculously too small, consultant was all over.

Fabulous range of dresses and very helpful staff who know their jobs and are excellent at recommending styles to suit different people. The seamstress they work with Edyta is also excellent. Very professional and talented at what she does.
