From the very beginning, Matt went above and beyond for us. He met with us on several occasions before our wedding day to get to know us as a couple, understand what we wanted, and make sure everything was exactly what we had hoped for. He was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and was always happy to go the extra mile.

On the morning of the wedding, Matt arrived exactly when he said he would and brought such a lovely sense of calm to the house. He even offered to pick up a few bits for us that morning and, before we knew it, he was helping the men with their ties! 😂 It was little things like this that made such a difference and made us feel completely at ease.

He made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and the photographs he captured are absolutely amazing. He managed to capture all the special moments, emotions and little details of the day so beautifully, and we will treasure the photos forever. ❤️

We honestly cannot recommend Matt Brooker highly enough as a wedding photographer. From our very first meeting, it was clear that Matt is not just incredibly talented, but also genuinely kind, caring, and down to earth.
We first met Matt in Ballynamona, near the Kilkenny Craft Shop, where he suggested we bring our dog to meet his pup as well. The dogs wandered around happily while we chatted and went through the details of the day. That meeting alone put us completely at ease. Matt also brought along beautiful examples of his finished wedding albums, and we were blown away by his ability to capture both the couple and the surrounding scenery in a way where neither ever takes away from the other.
What really sets Matt apart is how much he cares. He helped us organise far more than just photography, providing a timeline for the day and quietly taking control of logistics in a way that removed stress rather than adding to it. Having never experienced a day like this before, that guidance meant everything to us. He even offered, without hesitation, to take a detour on the way to the Kingsley Hotel if any family member needed a lift. That generosity says a lot about the person he is.
On the day itself, Matt was incredible. Friends and family repeatedly commented on how friendly, funny, inclusive, and calming he was. He guided people effortlessly, positioning everyone with a clear creative vision, but never once made anyone feel ordered around or under pressure. Everything felt natural, relaxed, and enjoyable. He has an instinctive sense of what he wants from a shot before he ever lifts the camera, and he achieves it with warmth, humour, and great banter, which suited us perfectly as a couple.
And then there are the photos. They are beyond anything we could have imagined. The posed photographs are stunning, but it’s the candid moments that truly took our breath away. Matt captured delicate, emotional moments during the ceremony that meant a great deal to us personally, moments that only someone deeply tuned into people could notice and preserve.
The photographs from Ballynamona Beach are exquisite, and Matt handled everything seamlessly, even politely managing people in the background so we never had to worry about a thing. On the drive back, he spotted a barley field, stopped, knocked on the owner’s door, and asked permission for photos. That willingness to go the extra mile resulted in some of the most beautiful images we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
Matt continues to surprise us by uploading more and more edited photos to our online gallery. Every time we check back, there’s something new, and every image is just as special as the last. We’ve been able to print and gift photos to family and friends, which has been such a lovely way to relive the day and share it with others.
To finish the day, Matt brought us to Sea Church in Ballycotton, bought us a glass of Prosecco each, brought water for our dog Stella, and quietly captured some of the most candid, peaceful photos of us just enjoying a moment together. Those images are among our absolute favourites.
We are beyond grateful to Matt for capturing our wedding so beautifully, but even more grateful that the experience felt like being looked after by a friend rather than simply receiving a service. By the end of the day, we were genuinely hugging him, and that says it all.

Matt was the photographer at our wedding last November. Matt met with us on 2 occasions, to get to know us, what we wanted and where to take the photos.

Eventhough we has a very small wedding, Matt went through everything so well with us.

He blended in so well when he came to the house before the wedding. We had a late afternoon wedding, Matt's ability to use light to create perfect shots is unbelievable.

Matt Brooker was the photographer at our wedding recently and from the moment we got in contact, I knew we had nothing to worry about regarding our wedding photos. Matt met with us on 2 occasions leading up to the wedding to get to know us and our venue, what kind of photos we wanted, where we were taking the photos and all the logistics of the day. When Matt arrived on the morning of the wedding, he blended in seamlessly with everyone and we hardly noticed he was there snapping away. He even helped serve lunch before we left the house! Our ceremony was in a room full to capacity but Matt managed to get fantastic photos without being intrusive or in anyone's way. His camera was quiet too which was important as I didn't want the clicking sound every time he took a picture.
We received the first batch of photos from Matt just over 24 hours after our wedding and were completely blown away by how stunning they were. Matt managed to capture people and moments so naturally and yet the photos are simply perfect. I sent the photos around to our family and every single person came back and commented on what a brilliant job Matt did and what a gentleman he is. He went above and beyond all our expectations of a wedding photographer.

He is professional, cool, calm, witty and flexible all in equal measure. His shots of our big day weren't overly staged or fussy. He got loads of natural looking photos and arty ones too capturing the beauty of the location, which was exactly what we asked for.

We were so lucky to have Matt photograph our legal wedding ceremony over the summer. We booked Matt very last minute and were very lucky that he was available. Couldn’t recommend Matt enough! The photos were ideal, lots of candid shots of family and friends, which we love, and some very special moments captured.
He was an absolute pleasure to work with. We met at the venue a few months before and then arranged things by phone. He was open, flexible and professional about what we wanted, and was happy to accommodate any changes we made to locations etc.
On the day he was friendly while also managing to slip into the background to get those candid shots. While taking the more staged shots he was professional while still having the craic and getting us to pose and so on! Several guests commented to us afterwards about how nice he was. He really was brilliant, and we would recommend him to anyone!

We booked Matt to photograph our very small wedding (6 guests) in Castlemartyr Resort last year and a slightly larger celebration party for a few more family and friends in Carrig House Hotel near Killorglin about a month later. Matt listened to us. He was really engaged and wanted the best for us in terms of photos. Matt went the extra mile to get to know more about our individual guests, somehow both being in the background to get candid shots (which we wanted) but also having a little fun with some of our group as well. We were delighted with the photos, Matt added to the occasion and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Matt is a great photographer, but also very warm, funny and flexible. He goes the extra mile.

Matt was a brilliant photographer. He had done lots of research on the venue prior to the wedding weekend- and, as a result, knew all the best spots to take photos, and made the whole process very relaxed and easy. We got a sneak peek of the photos online shortly after the wedding which was very exciting. I loved all of the pictures- they were exactly what we wanted- casual, nothing too posed or formal, and all of our wedding guests were in them too. A great experience, and one we will gladly repeat with Matt for any future big events.
