I began the daunting task of choosing an engagement ring for my fiance (now wife), vis?i?ting all the established jewellers in the city. It was an experience I didn't enjoy as I was constantly meeting stuffy old jewellers who not only made me feel intimidated due to my lack of knowledge of diamonds and jewellery in general but constantly tried to sell me ring's above the budget I clearly specified?,? this really pissed me off.

I was chatting with friends about my experience and one mentioned that his brother had bought a ring from McGuires Jewellers and was delighted with the ring and service so I decided to give them a call. From the moment I spoke to Eric on the phone it was obvious he had a fair and honest approach to his business as well as being very knowledgeable and friendly; he put me as ease straight away.

I visited McGuires Jewellers in Gorey, a short trip down from Dublin. Eric patiently talked me through the wide variety of diamonds in the shop, all GIA certified which was very important to me. He established my budget at the start and only showed me the diamonds that were within my price range. There was absolutely no pressure to be at the higher end of my price bracket. My fiancee absolutely loves the ring, and compared to other jewellers it was also great value for money considering the excellent service.

More recently, in the run up to our wedding, we got in touch with Eric to order a wedding band to suit the engagement ring and he matched it perfectly. One is always rather cautious when making such important purchases, so I'm delighted I went with Mcguire Jewellers and would highly recommend them.
