For some brides, helping their mother find an outfit she’s happy with for the Big Day can almost be as stressful as picking the perfect wedding gown, and when it comes to things like personal style versus ‘expectations’ (ie the ‘traditional’ mother of the bride outfit) it’s very easy to see why (note here that when we say ‘mother of the bride’ we mean both mother of the bride and mother of the groom!) Luckily today the expectation for what the mother of the bride should look like on the day is becoming more loosely defined (as in bridal fashion) and moms can wear whatever they feel happiest and most comfortable in.
