The Girls

It’s no secret we love a bridal hanger and what’s better than one you make at home with your very own fair hands. It will take a little bit of time and patience when it comes to the wire side of things but the end results are stunning and if you get super good at them, you can always whip up a few for your ladies – the perfect wedding gift that will make their gúna look oh-so-special (if you fancy another challenge with wire, be sure to check out our Love Cake Topper tutorial). To see how to make this pretty personalised hanger, pop over to Bayside Bride. Your maids will be super touched and impressed!

Something for Himself or Herself

If you’re short on cash with all the wedding spend, but still want a heartfelt gift for your soon-to-be hubby or wife, you have got to try this one! Super easy and with excellent results, your OH will love this personalised mug for their cuppa. Take some sharpies and a porcelain mug (pick one up in the likes of Ikea), get creative with your doodles and then bake your cup in the oven so that the marker doesn’t come off with one trip to the sink. See the steps for this tutorial over on A Beautiful Mess (Polkadot Bride also have similar version complete with cute spotty design and adorable slogan!)

The Flowers

We were mighty impressed when we came across these handmade bridal bouquet charms and think they’d add an extra special touch to your wedding blooms – you could have you and your OH’s names or initials on it, a sweet love slogan or even something as simple as a love heart. While they look like they cost a small fortune, all it takes is a little hard graft, some clay, a cookie cutter and wooden stamps. And you don’t have to stop at your own bouquet, you could make these adorable charms for your girls engraved with ‘Bridesmaid’ and write heartfelt little messages on clay for your partner and parents. See the DIY over on Green Wedding Shoes.

The Drinks Reception

We’re a sucker for a cute straw and add some glitzy bows to them and we are swooning! They may look like they came from Paperchase, but these cute little bows were indeed handmade and you too can throw some of your own together on your kitchen table – all you need is some paper of your choice, a bit of glue, some fun straws and you’re all set to go. To find out how to make these guys, pop on over to Mom’s Best where you can see a step-by-step tutorial.

The Reception Chairs

Wedding signage is one of our favourite things and when it’s free – even better! This glitzy DIY over on the Elli Blog looks like it could have taken the best part of a week but thanks to a very handy stencil (the stencil can also be printed twice and adapted to suit), you can bust one of these out in a matter of hours. Get your glue and glitter on and get dazzling – it’s sure to add some sparkle to your reception space and you might just get a few weeks out of it on your kitchen door afterwards too!

The Cake

A few sticks, some cut out letters and a little bit of TLC and you can have your very own uber cool cake topper like so! What you spell out on your tiers is entirely up to you (Just Married, Loved Up, Eat Cake…) but it’s sure to give your cake that extra fun, personal touch. See the DIY for this adorable cake topper over on Something Turquoise.

The Celebrations

Whether you use them to shower the newlyweds in a sea of sparkly loveliness as they leave their ceremony venue, as they arrive at the reception or even for the first dance – confetti push pop containers are a fun little addition that guests will LOVE and they make for some awesome snaps. The great thing about this DIY is that you can match your confetti and streamers to suit your own wedding colour scheme – see this DIY by Ashlee Virginia Events over on United with Love (snaps by Rachel May Photography).

The Favours

This super cute favour idea will be a big hit at winter weddings and will be mucho appreciated by your guests who fancy a little mug of something warm on the chillier evenings. You can go the whole hog and have personalised paper cups on hand like this DIY above or if you fancy shaving that step off, the little sachets made from paper bags will look lovely as is too. You can also easily switch the cocoa for coffee beans or tea leaves if that’s more your style (see a DIY for tea favours here). This DIY by Smitten on Paper can be found over on Green Wedding Shoes.
