I Asked My Partner 20 Questions About Our Relationship and This is What Happened

Marriage

Hello, I’m Kelly and I write for weddingsonline. I used to be a wedding planner so I’m kind of obsessed with weddings. I genuinely believe that any bride can plan her own wedding if she’s got the right tools and some expert info. One of my favourite things about weddings is watching couples start the journey of their marriage! So, in the spirit of marriage, I asked my husband a few things about our relationship. All you need to know about him is that he is game for anything and he willingly took part in this experiment.

Read along to see what he thinks about our relationship and his first impressions of me. I’ve summarised the questions into a nifty little list at the bottom of the post so you can join in the fun with your partner.

Here goes…

  1. What was your first impression of me?

The first impression I have of you is of you in a photograph. The first thing I thought was “This person is incredibly beautiful.” and I wanted to see more photographs of you.

2. What is your favourite quality of mine?

You have a lot of good qualities. I think my favourite quality of yours is how supportive you are. The unfaltering support you show to me and people as they embark on adventures.

3. Is there a skill I’ve mastered that you wish you had?

Anything organisational. I don’t know if I haven’t mastered it or if I’ve just relied on yours.

4. What did you first think of my family when you met them?

(laughs) The first thing I thought was that they weren’t nearly as scary as I’d been made to believe. They were incredibly loving and accepting of me right from the beginning.

5. If you could relive any of our dates, which would it be?

It was one of our anniversary dates, where we went on a sunset cruise and had champagne. Then we came back and we had the most amazing seafood platter. The conversation and the company was amazing.

6. What is your favourite activity that we do together?

I really like going on walks with you. Walks with beautiful scenery. It’s the conversation and the company and the beautiful scenery that makes it.

7. What’s the best piece of marriage advice you’ve heard?

Communicate.

8. Which meal do I cook that you absolutely love?

I do like that one with your “secret dressing”.

9. Is there anything you’d change about me?

No, I wouldn’t change anything about you.

10. If you could go on any adventure with me, what would it be?

I think it would be some trip to a European country where we could experience the culture, the food, the sights, the adventurous things.

11. If you had free reign to plan our wedding, what would you have done?

Truthfully, I’d probably keep it the way we did it. I like the way our wedding was.

12. Which outfit of mine do you wish I’d throw away?

Your matching pajama set.

13. Do you have any secrets?

Yes. But you didn’t ask me to share them!

14. When did you know you’d fallen in love with me?

Two weeks after we started dating.

15. How did you manage to keep your proposal a secret?

I planned the proposal using devices that weren’t linked to my cloud accounts so there was no way it could be traced back to your phone.

[note: at the time, I was using Glen’s old phone and we couldn’t get our phones to unsync. I could see all his notes, emails, contacts, etc]

16. What is your love language, and do I do a good job of speaking it?

Quality time. Yes, we spend a lot of time together.

17. What reminds you of me?

Friends, the TV show.

18. Have you ever considered breaking up with me?

No.

19. What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for me (in your opinion)?

Honestly, it’s the proposal.

20. What is your favourite thing about our relationship?

I love that we get to spend an above-average amount of time together in life, and that we get to work together.

Here we are hiding behind a bouquet.
