5 Ways to Get Your Feet Honeymoon Ready

Finally, after a long  winter, summer days are on the horizon which means trading our boots and winter woollies for summer sandals and bare feet – whoop! While the thought of getting the feet out is exciting for some, for others the fear is real after months of being covered up. Worry not, if you’re jetting off on honeymoon and are looking forward to some downtime poolside, take a peek at these 5 easy ways to make sure your feet are in tip top shape…1. Get rid of hard, cracked skinAfter being hidden away under socks and tights all winter long, your feet may well feel a bit like sandpaper and have their fair share of hard, cracked skin. The last thing you want is your dry heels peeping out of your fab new sandals as you stroll along the beach (cracked feet can be painful too, leading to infection if untreated FYI) so make sure to spend some time treating and nourishing them. Thankfully, you don’t have to dedicate half the night to filing – if you’re looking to soften your heels right up, a urea based product like Flexitol works a treat. Urea is one of the body’s natural moisturising agents and works to soothe and moisturise dry skin straight away. Flexitol’s Heel Balm contains 25% urea and offers rapid relief, repairing and moisturising cracked heels immediately. You’ll see results in as a little as one day!2. Nourish your nailsIt’s not just your feet that will have suffered during the winter months; your nails will have taken a battering too. Lack of air and even nail polish play a part causing staining and discolouration over time, so make sure to spend some time looking after them. Trim regularly, take care of your cuticles and skip polish from time to time so they look and feel amazing when you’re stepping on to that plane!3. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturiseAs well as getting rid of dead skin, make sure your feet are silky smooth with some daily moisturising. Flexitol’s incredibly nourishing Moisturising Foot Cream has 10% urea and is quickly absorbed in to your skin, softening dry feet. It can be used every day on both your feet and your legs so your feet will glide in to your sandals after a bit of TLC.Flexitol Heel Magic is another wonder product you can use day to day to keep your feet soft and supple! This handy stick means no mess – simply run the stick over dry, rough heels to restore moisture and nourish and hydrate the skin. Simple!4. Pick up some pretty sandals that are kind to your feetIt may be all about the wedding shopping at the mo but make sure to pick up a few key pieces for your honeymoon wardrobe too! We love a bit of white for that bridal feel and of course, some new sandals and flip flops are a must. Nothing gives you that holiday feel quite like slipping in to a pair of pretty sandals – be sure to choose a pair that fit well, have a decent sole and arch support where possible; straps will ease the pressure on your feet too. Also give yourself a chance to break them in at home before rocking them on honeymoon.5. Pencil in a pediIf you’re heading somewhere hot, your feet will be on show all the time so make sure to pencil in a pedi! With your feet and nails in perfect shape, a lick of colorful polish will get you in the summer mood and ensure your toes look the part when you slip in to your sandals!
