DIY VS All Inclusive Weddings – Which One Is Best?

Décor & Flowers, Planning & Advice

When it comes to weddings, the question is should you DIY or hire an all inclusive wedding venue? There are pros and cons for both, so today we’re exploring both options!

DIY wedding

A DIY wedding is where you will organise all the details yourself. DIY = do it yourself. We’re not just talking about decor, but everything – suppliers, flowers, music choices, photographer, table decor, hired items and so on.

These are the pros of a DIY wedding:

  • Save money – If you’re planning the wedding yourself, you can pick and choose the suppliers you hire as well as the items you use.
  • Customise – If a custom wedding is up your alley, then DIY is a great option because you can make your wedding your own!
  • Full control – By planning your own wedding and arranging all the details, you can have full control over all the details.

And here are some cons to consider:

  • Might lack quality – This is not to say that DIY weddings can’t be glamorous, but unless you’ve done this professionally before, there’s a risk that you’ll miss some of the important touches than an expert would not.
  • Time and stress – It is completely time-consuming organising and planning all the wedding day details.

All inclusive wedding

An all inclusive wedding is when a wedding venue (or wedding planner) presents you with a few options for the day in a bundle. Depending on the option you pick the bundle will cover everything you need for your Big Day.

These are the pros of an all inclusive wedding:

  • Convenience – Not everybody has time, expertise or knowledge to plan a wedding. Having the pros take care of it for you is incredibly helpful.
  • Less stress – A pre-planned wedding means less decisions to make and less research to do!
  • No surprises – With a package, there are (usually) no hidden costs. You’ll know exactly what to expect and what you are paying for.
  • Value for money – Did you know that you can actually save money with an all inclusive package?

And here are some cons to consider:

  • Less personal – You might be one of several couples choosing a particular package, which can make it feel less personal.
