Kenneth Winston, one of the two labels under the design house Private Label by G, gained popularity in Ireland initially for their wide range of elegant, colourful bridesmaid dresses, yet all eyes are now on the label’s exquisitely elaborate wedding gowns. And attention grabbing garments is exactly what they are – mesmorising mermaid silhouettes, heavy hand-beaded embellishments and modern features such as sheer necklines and floral appliqué backs combine to create gowns with the ultimate ‘wow factor’.
The 2015 collection sees 30 years of fashion-forward, timeless designs by the family run design house, originally set up by a husband and wife team. Keeping it in the family, the couple were later joined by their two sons, who introduced more aspects to the business including accessory design and Femme by Kenneth Winston – a line designed particularly with ‘plus size’ brides in mind. There is a sense of celebration in the 2015 collection – where the designs throw caution to the wind and go for all-out glamour. Form fitting, figure flattering silhouettes are still the foundation of a Kenneth Winston gown, as are high quality fabrics (this year’s fabric of choice is romantic, sophisticated French lace) and the finest embellishments and embroidery.
