Having travelled there on many occasions, Darragh and Jules chose Tuscany as their ideal wedding destination, for the loveable manner of the Italians, the rustic settings and beautiful food.
Darragh and Jules met through mutual friends in Sutton, Co. Dublin, at the rugby club where Darragh plays. After seeing each other for a few years, Darragh popped the question to Jules at the same venue they had their first ‘official’ date, in the very same seats. Aww!
With a pink and gold colour scheme, Jules opted for a simple dress which was tailored locally in Dublin.
The venue was set high amongst the rolling Tuscan valleys, in Castello Oliveto, overlooking miles of beautiful scenery. Jealous? Us?
Once the guests arrived into the castle gardens they were greeted by a vast selection of apperitivo and a classic Italian folk band who serenaded the crowd.
When it was time to move into the courtyard for dinner, the guests continued to eat until late in the evening. After the monster wedding cake was cut, the wedding party then let loose and enjoyed the DJ till the end of the night!
Darragh and Jules’ advice to other couples:
“Get as much done as possible in advance of the wedding. We left a lot till the end (play list, table plan etc.) which we really could have acted on ahead of time. Above all, be relaxed and enjoy a good stiff gin/whiskey before the ceremony. Both of us loved the day and it really does pass quickly, so make the most of it and enjoy it.”
