Five Perfect Reasons To Have an Engagement Shoot

Planning & Advice

Congratulations on your fabulous news, we can’t get enough of the Christmas and New Year engagements, it’s such a gorgeous time of the year to celebrate.

Today are we welcoming the new year, and new decade in, with a chat about engagement shoots, or E-shoots as they’re know in the business. Some couples love the idea, other couldn’t think of anything worse! As so many photographers include E-shoots within their wedding packages we’re all for them! Here’s five reasons you should have an engagement shoot to mark your special time.

1. Mark the occasion

Now is the perfect time in your life to have some sweet photos taken with your fiancé. One thing a lot of couples forget to do during their engagement is to actually enjoy it! With wedding plans at the forefront taking a step back to reflect and enjoy this time is important. What better way to mark the occasion than with a photoshoot to look back on in years to come.

2. Get to know your photographer

An E-shoot is the perfect way to get to know your photographer, and they will get to know you a little more too. The more at ease you are with the photographers on the day, the better the results will be. Having faith and trust in your photographer will make your wedding day all the easier.

3. Practise makes perfect

Having an engagement shoot is the best practice for your wedding day. We know lots and lots of you would prefer to be behind the camera but now is the ideal time to practice without the added pressure of the Big day, the guests and your wedding outfits!

4. You’ll enjoy it

We bet you’ll be starting to head into full on wedding planning. Having an E-shoot will encourage you to jump back into the moment and be present in what’s going on. Having a fun person (your photographer!) there to capture your pre-wedding glow is the icing on the cake!

5. You’ll have an amazing set of photos at the end

Engagement photos come in very handy in wedding planning. From framing your favourite for your wedding guests to sign around, to using them on your Save the Dates, table names and guest book, there are so many things to do with your engagement images!
