High Neckline Silhouettes

Fashion & Jewellery

It’s fashion time ladies, for those brides who like to show off their shoulders!

High necked bridal gowns are a particular favourite of mine. They are not for everyone, they do not suit everyone, but if you are moderately busted with small shoulders you can carry this striking neckline off.

High Neckline Wedding Dresses

High neck gowns have a collar that covers a proportion of the neck and are sometimes called Mandarin style, which has been taken from traditional Asian dress.

Here are a some of the high neckline dresses out this year that caught our eye. I have my favourite, have you?

The intricate neck detail to the gown on the left is just the right amount to dazzle your hubby and guests. Remember if you choose a dress with lots of detail like this one, you will save money on accessories, as you won’t need any!

On the right, this mandarin collared dress has a quirky halterneck detail which cover the shoulders, whilst leaving your arms bare- perfect if you want you shoulders and back covered.

Both gowns from Spanish designer Raul Novias.

Padme gown from Augusta Jones

Augusta Jones

If you prefer to create the illusion of a covered neck without going the whole way, this illusion neckline gown from Augusta Jones is a perfect choice. Illusion necklines are HUGE this year with many designers going down this route. The detailed lace panel on the neckline are perfectly balanced with the minimal A line shirt.

I’m not sure whether it’s the models stance or the gown, but this wedding gown packs a whole lot of stunning bridal punch! The all-over lace teamed with another illusion neckline and capped sleeves have both modern and classic elegance and would work magically in a majestic Chapel wedding. Gown by Justin Alexander.

*Top Tip*

If you are wearing a bridal gown with a mandarin collar remember you hair should be up to show it off to the max! You don’t want to cover up the dresses main feature with long locks hanging around it.

Alfred Angelo

What a princess dress this is! If you fancy a dress with two looks, something like this would work well as the re-embroidered lace jacket can be removed to reveal a strapless satin gown worthy of any fairytale wedding. Gown and jacket by Alfred Angelo.

Jesus Peiro

Are you the minimal, fuss-free type? I’m betting Jesus Peiro would have just the dress for you! Contemporary, elegantly cut and oozing with all round bridal gorgeousness, this floor length creation has just the right amount of high neck detail, I love…

Another Jesus Peiro gown, this time with a removable funky floral necktie. For two looks in one, remove it after the ceremony for a different party look. You could even add something completely different like a chunky leather piece for a rock and roll vibe!

Amanda Wyatt

Called Tora, this tulle and guipure lace fishtail gown by Amanda Wyatthas a sheer tulle neckline. It is very romantic and pretty, perfect for a girly bride.
