Last Minute Wedding Prep For Brides

Planning & Advice

Ahh! There’s a week to go until your big day, your head’s spinning and you’ve worked out what being stressed actually feels like – help! We’re joking, this won’t be you, as long as you follow our top tips on what to do and what not to do the week before your wedding…

Do:

  • Indulge in your favourite method of relaxation, whether that’s a day at your favourite spa, a morning horse riding with your best mates or a spot of last minute bikini shopping for your honeymoon. Do plan a treat for yourself that will help you to unwind and relax.
  • Pack. If you’re leaving from a hotel, pack your pre-wedding bag and your wedding day emergency kit. Then, pack your overnight bag for your wedding night, not forgetting your outfit for the next morning. Finally, pack your honeymoon wardrobe – easier said than done, we bet!
  • Break in your wedding shoes. Some people like to wear a pair of socks because they help stretch their shoes a little, but whatever way you choose to do it, make sure you do it! Blisters on your feet and your first dance do not go together! If you need gel insoles for extra support, make sure you add some to your wedding day emergency kit.
  • Gather all your suppliers contact numbers in one place and give them to your chief bridesmaid in case there are any problems on the day. If you have suppliers to pay on the day, make sure you have a payment method sorted.
  • Sort out your husband-to-be’s gift for the morning of your wedding and remember to include a sweet message inside the card.

Don’t:

  • Have your hair cut or coloured. Especially if you tend to do it on a whim – just don’t!
  • Visit the dentist, unless of course you have to. You don’t want anything coming between you and your perfect wedding smile. If you are having your teeth cleaned we suggest doing this a couple of weeks before the wedding.
  • Visit the sun bed. Really you should never do this anyway, but a burned bride is especially not a good look!
  • Try out a new fake tan. If you’re tanning it up for your wedding, stick with what you know and trust. Orange is not a pretty bride colour.
  • Change your skincare regime or products. You really don’t want an allergic reaction or breakout appearing the day before your wedding!
