A Modern Take on Something Blue

Fashion & Jewellery, Inspiration

Weddings are about tradition, but these days many of the old traditions have filtered out. One that does remain however, is the old saying Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue. I think most brides will try their best to keep this one, with lots choosing to wear a pretty garter that features a little blue ribbon. If you want to give blue a bigger spotlight on your wedding day, we’ve been looking at how to incorporate this age old tradition into your wedding in a modern way.

1. Flowers

Yes, there really are blue flowers out there! We normally think of pink, purple, yellow or red flowers, but blue floral arrangements are simply stunning, don’t you think? Add a touch of blue velvet or grosgrain ribbon to your bouquet and really carry blue on your big day.

2. Shoes

Not your typical ivory satin bridal shoes, but who says there are rules to stick to?! We love love love blue shoes around these parts and think every bride should wear them!

3. Belt

Belts are really big news right now, so why not go for the double and make your bridal belt pop with a hue of blue!

Or what about…
