Choosing your cheese tips
- Choose cheeses that you love – taste is very important. Ideally, just like choosing a standard wedding cake, you should sample each cheese. Choosing a range of hard, soft, blue and goats cheeses is a good idea.
- Three to five tiers work beautifully with hard cheeses at the bottom, and softer varieties to the top of the cake.
- Allow around 100g of cheeses per guest.
- You can decorate your cheese cake in lots of ways, popular ideas include fruit and berries, herbs, cake toppers or with nuts.
- Consider the temperature. Some cheese will be fine in heat whilst others will sweat and melt.
- Remember that you should serve your cheese wheel at room temperature and with crackers and chutneys!
