Last weekend saw the city that never sleeps drape itself in ivory lace and tulle, as Fashion Week was in town!
What I would have given to had a front row seat at any of the breathtaking shows and take in the bridal beauties on display! You will see this is quite a long post, jam packed with amazing bridal wear, sit back and enjoy…
This Marchesa gown pretty much sums up the entire vibe from Spring 2014’s look: pretty, romantic and feminine – divine. I love the unusual ankle grazer length of this decorative little number.
Oscar de la Renta did not disappoint with a collection of fairytale gowns fit for any princess.
The lady who really celebrates the female form, Monique Lhullier showed a collection that catered for everyone, with designs from sassy cocktail numbers to full skirted gowns, each one screaming feminine flattery.
The floor length cape popped up in a few collections, this ethereal option from Monique Lhullier is our favourite.
The cap sleeve featured heavily with Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhullier and Christos favouring this graceful look. We love the move away from strapless to illusion and shaped necklines!
This ivory gown with Chantilly lace cap sleeve from Oscar de la Renta is possibly my favourite of the season!
How sweet is this Christos gown, the flowing column shape is so angelic!
Cocktail dresses were everywhere, with all designers adding their own unique twist to their designs.
Love the soft lace overlay on this bold asymetrical dress by Marchesa.
How about this chic shift and longline jacket? We can see this on a fashion conscious bride having a city centre soiree.
Or how about a pair of bridal shorts and sweater for your big day?
Hints of subtle colour featured on many of the catwalks, with gowns smiling in blush, gold and even blue!
Oscar de la Renta finished his show with this pink tulle strapless ball gown and we can see why.
Love the ombre effect on this Theia gown, not to mention the beautiful textures.
It looks like the peplum trend is here to stay! Many gowns were given a modern yet elegant peplum twist with clever use of lace.
Hot on the success of her all red collection last season, Vera Wang was out to make a statement yet again and push the bridal boundaries. This time her collection featured a black and white palette, leather gloves and a sporty edge, whilst still embracing her flawless shapes and celebration of the female silhouette – like it or loathe it?!
There we have it, our round up of what to expect in Spring 2014. Have you got a favourite?
