Rustic Reception: Textured Table Ideas

Inspiration

We are so lucky nowadays that reception venues are so beautiful and take very little decoration on your part, but if you want to add an extra touch of personality to your wedding decor, adorning the tables in different textures for a rustic feel is an excellent choice. Rustic is in and it’s here to stay. Today we have textured table ideas by the bucketload to tease you with!

You can’t get a better theme than a natural look to really make textures shine. Think of dressing your wedding tables in layers, starting with the table covers. Standard white table cloths won’t cut the mustard – it’s hessian drapes all the way for this scene. Build your layers with natural fabrics and textures such as wood, stone, glass and not forgetting flowers and succulents- they’re top of the floral pile this year!

How sweet, affordable and totally DIY-able is this moss table number!

You can’t get much more basic than paper for your place setting, but doesn’t it look beautiful! Use simple brown paper for individual place settings or use as a table runner for an affordable and stylish looking centrepiece. *Top tip* If you fall in love with some pretty wallpaper, it could make the ideal table runner!

For a really rich look you can’t go wrong with coloured glass. Even better, team with coordinating lush florals for a zingy theme. You can easily pick up coloured glass from charity shops, high street stores and even Ikea.

One thing – charger plates! No, they aren’t a tacky addition to your Christmas table, they’re solid gold class for your wedding! Bulk buy from eBay, use once and sell on for a cheap way to add sparkle and pizazz to your wedding place settings. We love this safari inspired table which mixes wood, metal, glass, simple linen and a glitzy charger plate.

Gilt metals are very popular at the minute for modern touches of warmth throughout your home, why not add little pieces to your wedding table for a boho rustic look?

Whatever you do, don’t forget the importance of flowers on your tables. Whether you choose to reuse your ceremony blooms or go for completely different displays, flowers will add warmth and softness to your table centre pieces. We’re also keen on lace table runners for a vintage touch.
