With dreams of a traditional small town Irish elopement todays couple, Sarah and Cory planned with visit to Ireland with the help and encouragement of their friends and family. We’re delighted to be sharing their beautiful occasion with photography by Nerijus Karmilcovas of K Photography.
“We met at the perfect time in our lives, and everything just fell into place. We couldn’t imagine a better or different life for ourselves, and constantly plan our future with excitement and without a doubt in our minds. Our relationship moved fast. We have been together just over 4 years and have two amazing boys, aged 2 and 1. We both have amazing and supportive families who allowed us to elope without too much of a fight, and are even watching our boys while we are away.
At one time eloping to Ireland seemed like a dream to us. We made it happen and cannot be happier about our decision. We are so in love and cannot wait to see our little boys grow up and face everything in this world together,” said Cory.
“Our top priority was to ensure Sarah and I were able to focus on us and be able to really enjoy our special day. We dreamed of a traditional small town Irish elopement where we could experience something unique to us and could always revisit over many anniversaries,” he added.
The couple travelled to Ireland from Canada and held their elopement ceremony in Rahinnane Castle, Ventry. Sarah wore a stunning champagne Maggie Sottero gown with lace and beaded accents, whilst Cory went for a classic black tailored suit.
Following their romantic ceremony the couple wandered the streets of Dingle soaking up the Irish atmposhere. “Our first dance was in the Dingle Pub when the live band realized we were just married and stopped everyone to play us a special rendition of Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud”. Half way through the whole pub joined in and we had a Guinness toast after!” said Cory.
“The hardest part of wedding planning was deciding between a traditional wedding or to elope, but once the decision was made we knew it was right for us. Our advice would be to try to make it about you. This is your day so figure out what will allow you to relax and enjoy YOUR day together,” said Sarah.
