Mini bottles of tequila for their favours and a silent disco, Donna and Kieran’s December wedding in Trim was certainly full of fun and glamour! The couple chose Sebastian from Art Wedding Photography to document their day.
Thanks to Donna’s brother being friends with Kieran as a teenager, the couple always knew of each other, but it wasn’t until Kieran approached Donna in a nightclub that the romance started. Thirteen years on the busy couple eventually got round to tying the knot!
During a holiday in Las Vegas Kieran surprised Donna with a very special day which ended with a proposal at the Belagio!
“The proposal was a day long thing, he surprised me at breakfast with a trip to the Grand Canyon by helicopter, then took me out later that evening to New York (New York New York Hotel), Paris (Paris Hotel) and Venice (the Venetian Hotel), we had dinner and headed back to the main balcony of the Belagio Hotel where we were staying and watched the fountain show and he popped the question there. It was a complete surprise, after so many years together I had stopped expecting it!” explained Donna.
The couple soon decided to get married nine months after their engagement and both took part in the planning.
“I enjoyed every minute of the planning, we booked our wedding nine months before the day – I didn’t think we could get everything done but we did! Kieran was a huge help he probably did 90% of the planning. We both knew what we were looking for and I think once you have your mind made up the organising side is easy” added Donna.
The well travelled couple were keen to include aspects of their adventures in their day and gave each of their guests a mini bottle of tequila from Italy as well as their impressive suitcase wedding cake, expertly made by Donna’s mum and aunt.
Following the wedding meal at Trim Castle Donna and Kieran held a silent disco where each guest was given a set of headphones:
“Everyone was going crazy listening to different channels on the sets and when they took off their headset everyone was singing something different, it was great fun to watch! said Donna.
