For bride Maria it was the little things that counted on her wedding day to Sean. From the handmade confetti cones, ring cushion, lace wrapped jam jars to their table plan and napkin rings, Maria spent hours before her wedding crafting all these items. We’re delighted to share their beautiful vintage wedding at Tinakilly House Hotel, captured by Tomasz Kornas.
Maria and Sean first met online on Match.com. Sean proposed in Tinakilly House Hotel on Valentines night in 2014 just before midnight.
“We were having a lovely night listening to a jazz band. Just before midnight he whispered in my ear -all I could say was ‘’really?!” and then again ‘really?’” said Maria.
The couple chose this special venue as the location for their classic vintage day and set their wedding for almost one year later on April 4th, 2015.
The couples ceremony took place inside the Victorian grandeur of the country house with a rose petal lined aisle. Maria wore a stunning lace gown which featured an illusion neckline and beading. Her bridesmaids wore soft mocha gowns which worked beautifully with the soft pink and ivory bridal bouquets.
“Seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony was definitely the highlight of the day for both Sean and myself. One funny moment happened during the ceremony when the officiant got my name wrong!” added Maria.
Following their ceremony, Maria and Sean were able to mingle with their guests and really get the party started before moving to the marquee for their reception. Again Maria’s details and pretty touches were everywhere to be seen with little jars filled with sticks of Wicklow rock making the ideal wedding favours and their alternative cheese wedding cake taking centre stage. Instead of a traditional guest book, Maria and Sean’s guests were asked to leave messages on their bespoke wishing tree, which a friendly neighbour had made especially for their day.
