After we’ve spent thousands of euro, and countless hours planning our perfect day, we have very little left apart from our photo album and wedding DVD. It’s such a shame to fold that beautiful dress away never to be seen again. We were so excited when we came across this unique way of preserving the memory of your beautiful dress, and owning a piece of art at the same time!
At Appleberry Press, Ailbhe and Jane love all the pre-wedding excitement in the run up to the big day, but without a doubt (speaking from their own experiences too) one of the most exciting parts is finding the perfect dress. Trying on countless beautiful dresses in every shape and style and getting to feel like a princess over and over again is exhilarating if not slightly exhausting!!
When the final dress is chosen, all alterations made and accessories picked, walking down the aisle in that perfect dress is truly a magical moment. Jane and Ailbhe have brides coming to them telling of how they cried taking it off on their wedding night!!! It was for this reason they decided they wanted to immortalise this special memory for their brides, and so, their wedding dress portraits were born!
Hand painted in oils or sketched in ink by artist Ailbhe Ryan, these portraits are done in a contemporary ‘fashion’ style. The focus is on the dress but upon request they can also include the bride’s face. Ailbhe works from numerous photographs and will choose the best angle to paint from. Detailed shots of the dress are also used to capture the delicate lace trims and beading details that are so important.
The result is an elegant piece of custom artwork to cherish for years to come. These beautiful portraits would make ideal wedding or anniversary gifts.
