The Academy Awards may have taken place over a week ago but now that the hype has died down a bit we can finally get on to the most important aspect of the night… the dresses, and how to get ’em. Last week we shared our nominations for best dressed on the night,  so today we’re showing you how to steal these starlets style for your wedding day with not one but two Oscar inspired gowns to choose from – one designer, one high street! Sure all we’re close to doing is wearing it for you. Enjoy!

1. Julie Delpy in Jenny Packham

Julie Delpy shimmered in a silver Jenny Packham Gatsby-esque kaftan style gown with a deep v-neck and  cinched waist belt. The Before Midnight actress accessorised her crystal embellished gown with Chopard jewels, Jimmy Choo shoes and bright red statement lip.

For this look, we’re splurging on this stunning v-neck beaded sheath wedding dress from Jenny Packham’s 2014 collection. Florence features sheer short sleeves and crystal embellished belt. We’ve chosen the classic, understated Margot bridal kaftan from Monsoon (£229.00) as our ‘Steal’ for Julie Delpy’s Oscar look. This vintage-inspired empire line gown is subtle and flattering, and combines luxurious silk georgette and metallic embroidery for a high quality finish. The lightly gathered, plunging v-neckline is balanced with waist-cinching sash ties which are adorned with seed pearls, shell flowers and iridescent sequins – creating subtle shimmer.

2. Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka

Kelly Osbourne looked fresh and sophisticated in a figure hugging white Badgley Mischka gown (so ‘huggy’ in fact that she had to change gowns so she could negotiate the stairs!) which was perfectly adorned with a sheer sparkling gold and silver embellished capelet. The fashion critic wore her now trademark purple locks down loose and wavy and carried a mini gold clutch.

Our splurge for this look is this amazing hand pleated chiffon gown with floral appliqué and crystal and pearl embellished neckline from Marchesa. Our steal is this floor-skimming art deco inspired column Harlow gown from BHLDN (although at $1,600.00 it’s not exactly cheap), which features an intricately beaded neckline and satin sash. Paired with some vintage-style crystal drop earrings and a pair of T-bar heels and this look is a wedding winner. Alternatively, opt for a simple white fitted gown and accessorise with this ivory tulle beaded Trickling Capelet $140.00 from BHLDN.

3. Maria Menounos in Johanna Johnson

Maria Menounos looked ravishing in a crystal embellished capped sleeve white Johanna Johnson gown, which she accessorised to perfection with a simple silver box clutch from Ashlyn’d and the most romantic up do. The occasional professional wrestler (!) went with a brown smoky eye and trendy grey nails and wore shoes by Jimmy Choo.

Our splurge for this regal and elegant look is a stunning floral draped column gown by Temperley Bridal. The unique side draping skirt creates a Grecian feel to the gown, while the sheer floral neckline adds a glamorous, modern edge. Our steal is an all-out glamorous gold sequinned floor-skimming column gown from another much sought after designer – Rachel Gilbert. How is this a steal, you ask? Well, this gorgeous gown is part of the luxurious collection at Covet Bridal, and can be yours for three days for €185.00.

4. Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab

Angelina Jolie, as always, was a vision in a long sleeved metallic Elie Saab Haute Couture gown, which featured a sheer neckline and cinched waist. Make-up wise the beauty stuck to her signature style of subtle smoky eyes, a lightly tinted lip, loose locks and dazzling smile.

Our Angelina splurge is also an Elie Saab number, however features cap sleeves, a high neck and a contemporary belt. Our steal is one of our favourite finds today, and it comes in the form of the sophisticated and sparkly Kensington from Phase Eight (£395.00). Kensington is certainly on trend for a Gatsby style bride and is heavily embellished with shimmering beads and sequins. Skimming the figure for a flattering silhouette, this full length dress features a sheer blouse with nude lining and a sparkly jewelled detail at the waist. It is styled with a large keyhole back.

5. Lupita Nyong’o in Prada

We think the world is agreed that 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o pretty much stole the show on the night of the Oscars. Her stunning sky blue Prada ball gown embodied an elegant and playful personality, as the Best Supporting Actress floated on the red carpet. A simple hair band and some diamond earrings finished the look off to perfection.

Our splurge was going to be one of Elie Saabs fabulous blue gowns from the 2014 haute couture collection, however they’re a little too sparkly to suit this style so instead we’ve gone for Angel Sanchez’ icy blue deep v-neck ballgown, which is that little bit more bridal due to its pretty tulle overlay. We’re back to BHLDN for our steal, and what we think would make an amazing destination dress. Ruth by Catherine Deane at BHLDN features her luxurious silk tulle – a sheer, airy fabric known for its supreme softness and ethereal drape. We love how it falls gracefully over the bodice, then spills beautifully into a gathered skirt inspired by the work of a famed French fashion house.
