What to Ask When Booking Your Honeymoon

Honeymoon, Planning & Advice

Today we’re joined by our experts from Travelmood who are sharing some useful questions to ask when booking that dream destination…

Want to know what to ask when booking your honeymoon? Here at Travelmood, we’ve heard of every question under the sun! Our expert shares the most common questions and how we can help plan the best holiday of your life…

How much does a honeymoon cost?

Couples make an appointment with Travelmood and, before they’ve even set foot in our offices on Duke Street, we’ve done the groundwork, gathering the best hotel and destination information. As we say in Travelmood, “we don’t just go there, we know there”, so we match honeymooners with an expert who understands the destination inside out.

As well as being the most romantic holiday you’ll ever book, your honeymoon is also likely to be the most expensive. Most are priced between €4,000 and €6,000, with some costing upwards of a whopping €10,000! You really don’t want to take any chances by booking online so a face-to-face appointment with a honeymoon specialist is hugely important. At Travelmood we have plenty of options to suit all budgets and tastes.

When is the best time to honeymoon?

Us Irish are obsessed with the weather and the last thing you want is to go on honeymoon during monsoon season! You can visit some destinations, such as Thailand, all year round, while others are seasonal. Our knowledgeable staff always steer you towards the best time of year so you’re guaranteed some glorious weather on your romantic getaway. No umbrellas required!

Should we book all-inclusive or not?

All-inclusive deals are incredible value and take the stress out of your getaway. You don’t have to worry about budgeting while you’re away and the choice of food and drinks at our luxury resorts is just fantastic. It’s not always necessary to go all-inclusive though – it depends entirely on the destination. For somewhere like the Maldives, I always advise holiday-makers to book all-inclusive but in Thailand, where there are terrific B&B options, there really is no need. At the end of the day, the decision is completely up to you.

Do we need vaccinations?

Again, this depends on your destination and length of your stay. Vaccinations aren’t required for the many countries, such as the USA and Mexico, but are necessary for others, like Thailand. Your honeymoon specialist can advise you on any recommended immunisations to ensure you are happy and healthy overseas.

Will it suit both of us?

Couples don’t just want to lounge on the beach anymore, they often fancy a bit of culture and adventure activities. Multi-centre honeymoons are hugely popular and excellent value for money. Choose two destinations in one country, such as Havana and Varadero in Cuba. Or maybe combining two entirely different hotspots, such as Cancun and Las Vegas, is for you? Recover from the wedding festivities on a golden beach before soaking up the excitement of city life. You’re both guaranteed to have an amazing getaway on a trip like this – what’s not to love?

What added extras make a honeymoon even more romantic?

Travelmood’s hotel partners go out of their way to make honeymooners feel extra special from the get go. Enjoy some bubbly on arrival, a relaxing breakfast in bed, an intimate dinner on the beach. You name it and we can arrange it! It’s these little extras that make your honeymoon all the more romantic and memorable.

So there you have it, the top questions we get asked from soon-to-be brides and grooms. If you have any others don’t hesitate to drop into our offices or give us a call. We’re always here to help plan amazing getaways for couples all over the globe.
