Amanda is the face behind Amethyst Hair, you will be in the safest of hands with her experience and passion to create amazing hair.
I have over 20 years of experience and have recently returned from working in the UK where I have worked with some leading names and well known magazines. I like to create one of a kind hairstyles to suit each person and their needs, as I feel everyone's hair is there crown and glory. Everyone wants to be a more beautiful version of themselves.
With recently getting married myself, I have a real understanding to how every bride feels on the run up to their wedding and on the morning, so I feel it a must to go that extra mile for every bride and her bridal party to make them feel at ease while offering that calming approach.I will also be on hand to offer a helping hand along the way and on the wedding morning with any advice I can offer.
The products I like to use are L'Oreal, Wella, Redken, Tigi just to name a few as I feel it is very important using the best styling products out there as this helps to keep the hair in place through out the day and night. It is so important to me that the hairstyle I create lasts into the late hours of the night. I'm able to cover a wide range of areas including Cork and all of Munster.

Amanda was such a pleasure to deal with and she was a bundle of energy on the morning , she made everyone at ease and the 5 of us loved our hair. She did an incredible job. Couldn?t recommend her any more. A Fantastic person.

Amanda is amazing. From the moment I contacted her she was so easy to deal with and so accommodating. She has the loveliest personality and made the morning of my wedding so relaxed and fun whilst doing my hair absolutely perfectly how I wanted it and the rest of my bridal party were so delighted with her work aswell!

I couldn't recommend Amanda highly enough. She was professional, warm and chatted easily throughout the morning. In our party we had three bridesmaids, two flower girls and my mum. Each and every lady was thrilled with their hair on the day. Amanda really took on board what I as the bride was hoping for and the girls preferences also. Amanda went above and beyond , helping with flowers etc as the time drew nearer to leave for the church. She really added to the morning and I'm delighted that I chose Amanda.

Amanda did the hair for me, mum and 3 bridesmaids on our wedding day. From start to finish she was an absolute pleasure and really added to the fun when we were getting ready. She is so contentious with every detail and was there even helping me put on my dress before the church. I really could not recommend Amanda highly enough and felt she was a very important part of our day!

Amanda was absolutely amazing from the start all the way to our wedding day. She went above and beyond to make sure we were all delighted with our hair. Amanda is a beautiful person inside and out and it really reflects in her work, from the atmosphere she creates to the beautiful hairstyles she can do. I can't express in words how grateful I feel to had had Amanda in my big day. I got the trial and she was so nice to make some changes that I wanted. When the big day arrived, she did an excellent job, I loved my hair. It was how I imagined. Also my mom's and bridesmaids hair were beautiful. But the most I appreciate was, she helped me a lot after I was almost ready. We were running out of time and everyone was busy getting ready (bridesmaids, mom) so she helped me putting on my dress, veil, even shoes, taking photos of me. She didn't left till I left to the church. She was doing things that she didn't have to do. I was in panic and couldn't even breath and she was there talking to me, to make me feel better. I don't know what I would had done without her. She is an amazing person, very professional and with a very big heart. Thanks thanks for being you ??

Amanda did the hair did for my wedding. From the trial to the wedding she was fantastic! We were all delighted with our hair and Amanda stayed with us right to the ceremony to make sure everything was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anyone better f0r the morning of the wedding, she was calm and reassuring and lovely to be around! I can not recommend Amanda high enough. Thank you again!

Amanda was everything a bride could wish for on her wedding day, sincere, kind, relaxed, warm and very talented. Amanda did my hair, my daughter, who was my bridesmaid, my mother and my aunt. She understood what would work well on each person over a variety of age groups and she executed them all to perfection. Amanda went over and above for me on the wedding day, keeping time, helping with the flowers, and overall so generous with her time and assistance. I could not recommend Amanda highly enough. From the very 1st email, she was just an absolute pleasure to deal with. I live in Dublin but got married in Cork and Amanda was so flexible with my trial. My mam wanted a trial too and so she accommodated us both. Amanda is so knowledgeable and was able to advise us both based on pictures I had sent on.
On the morning of the wedding, Amanda was so kind and reassuring. She is very professional but at the same time it was like having a friend there. My mam and I were both delighted with our styles. My mam had a curly blow dry and I had an upstyle. We both have very fine hair and Amanda was able to work absolute magic! My hair felt so light yet had the volume I wanted and it stayed perfectly until I fell into the bed at 6am, no touch ups required despite a lot of bad dancing. Cannot thank or recommend Amanda enough.

Amanda is the most wonderful person you could ever have the pleasure of meeting; let alone the pleasure of her doing your hair! From day one, Amanda put so much effort into our conversations to make me feel beautiful and confident and was on hand for any questions or queries I had. She gave me a proper consultation at my hair trial and helped me decide what my perfect wedding hair would look like. On the day, she was such a calming presence in the room and was also up for a good laugh! Despite being heavily pregnant, when we thought we would only get the chance for outdoor photos within a small window of time due to the threat of heavy rain, she trekked across a field with me with a can of hairspray and a comb to ensure my hair would still look good in the wind! A 5 star review is really not enough to extend my gratitude for her commitment to helping me feel my best on my big day. Amanda really is the best at what she does!

From the very first enquiry Amanda was amazing to deal with. From enquiry to organising a trial to the morning of the wedding. She came to my home for the trial and even accommodated it on a Saturday which I was so grateful for, my mam wanted a trial also and this was no problem. I showed her photos of what I wanted and it came out exactly how I hoped. She is so knowledgeable and so good for advice on how to achieve the look you want while taking into account the type of hair you have. All of our hairstyles lasted all night, there was no need for any touch ups. She was amazing the morning of the wedding, a calming fun presence while also so professional. We had plenty of laughs throughout the morning, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who asked.

Amanda was amazing! She was clear with communication and very professional throughout the planning process, which was much appreciated given that we were planning the wedding from the US. She was able to fit me in for a trial a few days before the wedding and happily made adjustments based on my preferences. The day of the wedding, Amanda brought a relaxed and positive attitude to getting-ready craziness. She even managed to fit in styling my mother-in-law's hair on a last-minute request. I am so grateful to Amanda for helping me feel my best on my wedding day! I would definitely recommend her services.

You were so kind and attentive and above all else so talented, I?ve never felt so beautiful as I did on my wedding day. Amanda was absolutely fabulous and so so lovely, cannot recommend her enough. Amanda really listened to what I wanted and nothing was an issue. Her advice was amazing regarding making your hairstyle last throughout the big day. Amanda had my mom and 3 bridesmaids also who didn't stop raving about her either. She really became part of the wedding morning and created such a nice calm atmosphere.

Booked Amanda to do hair for our wedding party and family members. From initial contact to the morning of the wedding Amanda was so professional and no request was too much. We had a large number of ladies for her to work her magic on and everyone was delighted with the end result and commented on how enjoyable their time chatting with her was while she was doing their hair. Absolutely amazing person to work with, Amanda was very easy to deal with when booking my bridal party hair. When my trial came around and I have absolutely no idea about hair styles as my hair is normally up in a bun , I showed pictures to Amanda of what I thought would be nice and she told me her honest opinion and we worked with that and it turned out exactly what I wanted. The morning of my wedding she arrived bright and early to get us all ready and we all absolutely loved the way our hair turned out ????. We laughed and laughed during the morning and she made us all feel so relaxed. I would honestly recommend Amanda to any up coming brides and if I needed to book another big party for hair styles, Amanda would be the first person I would contact. Thanks again for everything ????

Amanda gave me a beautiful soft half-up half-down style for my wedding. We had a trial to make sure I was happy with the style, that it worked well with the wedding dress and suited me. Amanda also did my highlights, which are still amazing, I have 3 colours to work in with my own hair colour and were exactly what I was hoping for. Amanda is super-organised and you will be in great hands for any event you want to feel and look great at!

Amanda is as great a person as she is a hairdresser. She was communicative, professional, listened to what me and my girls wanted. She provided a great service, was punctual, stayed with me all the way until I was about to walk down the aisle, and she was absolutely lovely throughout. We did a trial few months before the wedding, and she made sure to explain everything to me, and even provided general hair care advice. She answered all my questions, and was great to work with. I would definitely recommend her for your special day.

As soon as I contacted Amanda. I knew I was in safe hands. She came to my house a few weeks before the wedding for a trial. which I was very impressed with. I had long hair and she tried a few styles. I went for soft curls as I had long hair. Very convenient coming to the house.

We first met Amanda at a Wedding Fair at our wedding venue 'The Reid Rooms' and we knew within a minute of speaking to her that we wanted her to be our wedding hair stylist. Amanda was brilliant on both Mine and Julia's hair trials, she was fantastic at preparing for us both, being two brides, not an easy job! She kept all of the secrets to enable us to have a surprise on the day and she was able to work out both of our styles perfectly, after just showing her one photo. Despite moving back to Ireland, Amanda honoured our booking and travelled back just for our wedding. She was able to work her magic on the day and not only made two brides feel beautiful, she also worked her magic on 2 Mother of the Brides and 4 bridesmaids. Amanda was not just a hair stylist on the day, she was also able to keep us sane and calm throughout the whole morning. We are really glad we chose Amanda and would recommend her to anybody looking for a hair stylist for their wedding, we honestly cannot thank her enough for all of the hard work she put in for us. I found Amanda at a wedding fair and after 5 minutes speaking I knew I wanted her to be my hairdresser on my big day, and after our second meet I knew I wanted her to be my hairdresser forever!
She is amazing in every way! My hair, my bridesmaids and mums were amazing on my big day, but not only that, she helped me prepare my hair throughout the year. She did my husband's hair too. She suggested doing my hair for my hen do which I hadn't even thought about... She traveled all the way to my house just to do my fathers hair before the wedding so he wasn't left out...
Above all she was with me all morning on our wedding day. She was helping me relax and supporting me in everything! She didn't leave my side until I went down the aisle... I can't be grateful enough for all she has done! ????

My wedding was in February 2018 and Amanda did my hair and bridal party. I absolutely loved my hair it was exactly what I wanted it was perfect. My bridesmaids and mum looked beautiful and everyone loved our styles.

Amanda did my hair for myself and wedding party for our August 2017 wedding. Amanda was so lovely throughout the whole experience, from the minute I met her at a wedding show I knew she was the person I wanted to be there on the morning. She is such a friendly warm person who you feel like you?ve known forever. Amanda is really responsive which is so reassuring in the lead up to the wedding, any little question I had she was happy to answer and guide. On the morning of the wedding I decided I wanted my hair slightly different, Amanda didn?t even bat an eyelid and did the most perfect hairstyle exactly how I had been imagining it in my head. Amanda was a calming influence on the day and all my wedding party commented on how nice she was and how amazing her hairstyling skills and advice were. As soon as I got engaged, I knew exactly who I would be booking to do my hair. I had previously been bridesmaid twice before and had the fantastic Amanda as the hairdresser so there was no question who I wanted for my day. She was brilliant from start to finish. I really wanted my hair to get longer before the wedding and she recommended products and cutting schedule to ensure my hair was the healthiest it had ever been. She really listened at the trial as to what I wanted and it was even more perfect on the big day. I went for a 50s look and even in photos now it really stands out as a key feature of the day. I absolutely loved it and it was made all so much easier with Amanda. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend her. She is the only name I mention when my friends get engaged now.
