Winner of this years "The Weddingsonline 2021 Awards" for "Best Hair Stylist of the Year" (and Finalist for "The Weddingsonline Awards 2020"), Laurie is a hair stylist specialising in weddings from just outside Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.

She has been in the hairdressing industry over 8 years, having trained in MOHH Academy in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. After qualifying she worked for Steiner as a hair stylist on board Princess Cruises on around the world cruise for 10 months, an experience of a lifetime.

Upon returning and after working for 2 years in a salon she decided to open her own freelance business, Headd's Up Wedding Specialist and she has never looked back since.

Laurie was also one of the finalists for "The Hair and Beauty Awards 2018" for "Best Freelance Wedding Hair Specialist.

Laurie provides a very professional and personal service to each and every bride and their bridal party, making sure all hair is perfect on the day. Laurie is very passionate about her work with great attention to detail creating the most amazing and unique styles.

Laurie is exactly what you want the morning of your wedding. The morning can be stressful enough but laurie made it feel nice and relaxed and comfortable. She did my hair and my bridesmaids hair exactly how we wanted it even though I had changed my mind at the last minute. My hair stayed perfect for the whole day even after taking a stroll on the prom in galway. I was very happy with how it all turned out and would 100% recommend her for your wedding day Thank you again laurie x

Laurie was absolutely fantastic the morning of my wedding. She made us all feel relaxed due to her lovely personality and easy going way about her. My whole bridal party loved her, all of their hair looked absolutely stunning. I myself have never been so complimented on my hair not only during the day but even the night of the wedding as my hair did not move out of place. I would highly recommend Laurie to other brides/bridal parties if you are lucky to get her for your big day xx

Laurie was amazing on the day and in the lead up to the wedding. She was always available to go through ideas and give advice. She did bridal hair for a party of 6 and we all loved our hair and received loads of compliments, hair lasted all day and even into the next day. I would highly recommended Laurie and would not hesitate to book again.

I'm so happy I had Laurie as my wedding hair stylist. She was excellent to deal with from start to finish. Laurie was such a calming presence to have around the house on the morning of the wedding. She's also incredibly easy to talk to so it's just like having a friend around. My hair was perfect on the day. I showed Laurie some Pinterest photos and she worked her magic. It was exactly what I wanted and I got so many compliments on it. My 3 bridesmaids were also really happy with their hair. Thanks Laurie for making us all look and feel fab!

Laurie was absolutely amazing and I am so glad I had her as my hair stylish for my recent wedding. I wanted an upstyle but I don't really like my hair up so she had her work cut out for her from the start. When I met her at the trial I just instantly liked her and was really happy with the trial. She gave me great advice and I was so glad I went for the trial. It was so lovely to have her in our house the morning of the wedding, she was so friendly and really lovely to my family and really did go above and beyond to ensure we were all happy. I honestly couldn't recommend her enough, my hair was one thing I was worried about but she was amazing, I actually cried when I saw the final finish.

Laurie was absolutely amazing from the first time I messaged her. She was really accommodating when I had to add an extra person and also spent so much time with me during my trial discussing styles and what would work best for my hair type. The hair on the day was absolutely beautiful, Laurie did exactly what each bridesmaid wanted and was so flexible on the day, making sure everyone loved their hair! The styles held up all night and looked amazing right up to bedtime!

Laurie was my hairdresser for our wedding in August of 2022 and she did an absolutely outstanding job. We loved having her there with us on the morning of the wedding, she was so chilled and absolutely nothing was an issue for Laurie. Myself, my Mam and my bridesmaids absolutely loved our hair and they did not budge through the day at all. Our wedding day was extremely hot and during a heat warning so having our hair stay put was absolutely brilliant!! Laurie was amazing as it wasnt easy working in such heat with hot hair tools!! Would highly highly recommend Laurie to any future bride!!

I’m a Covid bride so had a few dates! I had booked Laurie for my original date so was disappointed when she wasn’t free on the second date, but the 4th date was the charm!! So was so friendly, professional and helpful for both the trial and on our wedding day. Her calming and chatty personality made the morning of the wedding so much easier. I would definitely recommend Laurie, she did 8 heads of hair that morning and they all stayed looking fab till the early hours of the next morning!

I had the pleasure of Laurie doing my hair for our wedding in Portugal. Laurie is an excellent hairdresser and glad to say a long time friend of mine. As soon as we got engaged I booked in the date as I know she is always pretty booked up. We had to postpone our original date because of Covid but she was very accommodating on this and booked in our new date straight away. From start to finish the process was seamless, we did a trial a month before the wedding and I sent on pictures of what I liked. It was great to do the trial to get a feel for what suited me and if I needed to tweak anything before the big day! The morning of the wedding she came to my bridal suite with her wheelie case and a big smile on her face. It was surreal to think she was in Portugal doing my hair for my wedding. She did an amazing job on me and my bridal party while keeping us all in great spirits and ready on time. My hair was fabulous on the day, I got so many compliments and it lasted throughout the night! I couldn’t recommend Laurie enough she’s the best wedding hair stylist out there!

Laurie did a fab job on my hair. I had a good hair trial but was still undecided on tne morning of my wedding and decided to go with an up do as it was blowing a gale outdoors. Laurie did a fab style in my hair which held even through gale force winds! She's really lovely and friendly and can do a vatiety of great styles.

I got married on June 4th and I had Laurie as my hair stylist. She was amazing from the minute she came to the house in the morning. She was so relaxed and easy going it made for a great morning. Laurie is amazingly talented, as soon as I seen her work I knew I had to book her for my wedding. She worked with me in the weeks and months leading up to my wedding to create the perfect colour and also by doing trials to get the exactly the style I wanted for my wedding. She is such a nice person and so easy to talk to, she was always on hand with advice and open to every suggestion I had. On the day, she did my hair and my bridesmaids hair absolutely beautifully. She also did my daughters hair and made her feel really special and listened to, and she was absolutely thrilled with her hair too. I cant thank laurie enough for making this part of my wedding so easy. I would absolutely reccomend Laurie to any bride for their wedding, you will have made a great choice!

I would highly recommend Laurie as a bridal hair specialist. Not only was she so lovely to deal with in the build up, she brought such warmth and excitment to my home on the morning of my wedding as well. I am so glad I booked Laurie for my wedding day. She did an amazing job on my 3 bridesmaids, 3 flower girls and I. Not only did she do a fabulous job on our hair but her chats and craic was just fab. We all really enjoyed her company that morning. I was so so happy and confident with my hair despite some insecurities with recent hair issues. I even got day two out of the curls too! Laurie was absolutely amazing. She was the life of the party the morning of. Joking and taking any stress of the morning away. Her energy was incredible even after a 3am wake up call. As for the hair - everything was effortless for her. My updo even lasted through the Atlantic winds, and one of the bridesmaids was still wearing her hair 2 days later. On the run up to the wedding she was there to answer any questions or concerns I had. Absolutely incredible. Laurie certainly did not disappoint.

Laurie is an amazing hairdresser! She did myself and my 4 bridesmaids hair, and on a windy March day in Galway not a hair was out of place all day/night! I was so delighted with it all, As well as this she is a lovely person and brought great banter to our morning prep and had everyone ready in loads of time so we could relax and enjoy the morning! Laurie was quick to respond to my initial query and was able to help with any questions I had. Having to organise a wedding in Ireland from London was challenging but Laurie took the stress out of finding a hairdresser for my big day. She arrived promptly at 6am on the day and made everyone feel relaxed as we weren’t rushing to get ready. I cannot recommend Laurie enough. She is amazing at what she does we just showed a picture of what we wanted and she knew exactly what to do. She had my 3 bridesmaids and my flower girl and my hair to do and all were perfect and she worked so efficiently in one of the hottest days of the year. She was so relaxed on the morning and so friendly and chatted away to everyone. We were all so happy with our hair and they stayed the whole day and night and mine even lasted the next day. Its no wonder she won an award and I will definitely be recommending her to anyone getting married.

Laurie done my hair for my wedding and my bridal party. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and was so easy going and calm, all my girls had a great time with her. She had 7 heads to do and was excellent at her job, so efficient. Our hair all lasted in to the early hrs and was perfect, everyone loved them. I didn't have time for a trial with lockdown but she did my hair even better than I imagined. I would highly recommend Laurie for any event you have coming up she is outstanding at what she does. Laurie did myself and my bridal parties hair for my December 2020 wedding and she did a wonderful job. At my trial, I showed her an image of what I wanted and I loved the style she did on my for the wedding. She also really took the time during the trial to make sure I was happy with my look. My bridesmaids also loved their hair and it all stayed in place for the night even after venturing out into wild weather for photos! In the lead up she was so responsive with any questions I had - which was so helpful as there was so much uncertainty around restrictions due to covid. On the morning she was fab to be around very calming and really easy to chat to. She had 5 of us to do hair for that morning and everyone was really on time with no rush on us whatsoever. She stuck around until we left for any last minute touch-ups too. Would definitely recommend - thank you Laurie!

Having panicked about booking hair for my wedding because of covid, Laurie came to my rescue. We got to have a trial and she helped me narrow down what I wanted to do with my hair. I could not have been happier with my hair on the day. On the day of the wedding it was a joy to have her as part of the excitement. Laurie's professionalism with regard to covid was excellent. Laurie did a fabulous job on my hair last Saturday.I absolutely loved my hair!From the moment i booked her, she responded very quickly.Due to restrictions, I didn't get the chance to do a hair trial before the wedding but when speaking with Laurie, she knew exactly what I was looking for.On the morning of the wedding, Laurie arrived early and got straight into it. She is lovely, friendly and easy going person.She did a fabulous job on my Mum's and sisters' hairs also. Laurie is very professional and excellent at her work. I booked Laurie for my 2020 wedding long before Covid hit, Laurie went above and beyond to help me out with all the Covid related changes and restrictions. She did a fantastic job on the day, I, my mum and my three bridesmaids were all delighted with our hair. Laurie was a very relaxing presence on the morning, she had all of our hair done in great time but stayed around for final touches until we were ready to go. I would highly recommend Laurie to any future bride!

I booked Laurie as my bridal hairstylist and for my bridal party. In the months leading up to the wedding I wanted to go lighter and Laurie expertly did my colour and colour matched extensions for extra volume and length. Laurie is so knowledge and you know you are in good hands! Laurie knows exactly what will or will not work and she gives excellent advice and direction. She did such a great job on the bridesmaids hair, her timings are perfect and everything was so relaxed the morning of the wedding. I cannot recommend Laurie highly enough, she is simply superb

I would highly recommend Laurie from Headd's Up - Wedding Hair Specialist to anyone looking for a bridal stylist! I booked Laurie for myself and three Bridesmaids, my mum and flowergirl for my wedding. She was confident, efficient, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone was 100% satisfied with their hair. I had originally been a bit worried with timing, but she was able to get through all of the girls, and made sure to double check everyones hair at the end, with time to spare. The most important thing to Laurie was making sure that we were all happy and confident. She could not of helped me more with Covid related changes and was so kind to me during such uncertain times trying to plan a wedding and for that I will be forever grateful. She made the morning of the wedding so relaxing and enjoyable, it was like we were all friends for years. She is so talented at what she does and I couldn't of been and happier with the results and not a hair moved out of place all day

We got married in October 2020. I had been following Laurie for a couple of months on social media before I ever got engaged and as soon as I was engaged she was one of the first things I booked! I then started going to Laurie for my color a few months before the wedding in her new salon. I liked her from the very start she was so lovely and so professional and really listened to all my crazy hair problems and worked so hard to solve my color issues. She was the first to arrive to our venue on the day of the wedding and she was so relaxed she made everyone feel relaxed. And of course our hair was so perfect on the day i was so happy. It didn't budge for the whole day and night. I even slept in it ???? I would highly recommend Laurie to everyone. Thanks so much again x x

I booked Laurie for my wedding on 21.08.2020 in Galway. I am based in Dublin, and although very accommodating, due to Covid I didn’t get to do a trial before the big day. I was 100% sure that because Laurie was so professional and capable at her job that I would be happy with my hair on the day and this couldn’t have been more true! Even with a storm, my hair stayed perfect all evening for our outdoor wedding and I didn’t need to fix it once! Laurie was so easygoing and a really great addition to our wedding morning with her calm and lovely personality. She arrived early and worked happily on 9 heads before our 2pm ceremony, fixing us all up until we were perfect! I would highly recommend Laurie for any brides getting married in the West as she will not let you down x

Laurie was my hair stylist for our wedding on the 20th of February. She was just fabulous to have around the morning of the wedding,she was so lovely,relaxed and professional throughout the morning and nothing was too much to ask for. She did a gorgeous job on everyone’s hair and the girls loved their hair styles and it didn't move all day for any of us. I loved my hair style and I was getting compliments all day so much so that I was asked on a numerous occasions who did our hair. My mother who is fussy loved her hair style too and is still raving about it and Laurie????. Laurie made sure everyone was happy and checked on everyone again and waited util we were going out the door before leaving herself. We really enjoyed having her there on the morning and the chats were brilliant too. I would definitely recommend Laurie and wouldn't go anywhere else. I can't wait to go to another event so that I can go back to get my hair done again with her. Huge thank you to Laurie and I would 100% recommend you to any future brides xxx

We had Laurie for our wedding back in December. She was an absolute dream to work with. Laurie did exactly what I wanted with my hair and it didn’t budge for the entire day. I loved how it turned out. My bridesmaids all wanted different styles, she did exactly what they asked for too. She was so chatty and fun on the morning and this helped to keep all the nerves at bay! She waited around until we were all leaving the house, just to make sure she was there for any last minute touch ups that might be needed which I really appreciated too! I could write 1000 words about how great Laurie and her work is which she has done at my wedding day- but of course these words aren't enough. Everything was absolutely perfect - from the first contact ( I am based in Germany) til her on point arriving at my special day. And of course the hair stylings of me and my guests! It was the most perfect preparation ever I really couldn't be in better hands then Laurie's. I am so glad that I decided to ask her for these important part each bride has to go through! I really enjoyed to have her around, she was so so professional. If you ever looking for an artist - choose her if she is available!!! It was the most perfect hair styling I ever had and absolutely like I imagined. For me it was a perfect, natural wedding look and also all of my female guests looked amazing! I would highly recommend Laurie!! With an early start of 6am to get myself, mother & 6 bridesmaids ready Laurie walked in like a ray of sunshine. She’s so happy & fun to be around, exactly what you need on the morning of your wedding. Her timing is perfect, she’s professional and all our hairs looked absolutely stunning!! Laurie did the hair for me for my wedding in August. She was absolutely brilliant. In the run up to the wedding she made sure I was happy with what I had done in the trial, sent me loads of ideas after the trial to make sure I was 100% happy. On the day of the wedding she made me feel so relaxed, the time flew in as were having so much fun chatting and laughing. I had a second day for my wedding as the first day was family only and again Laurie was so good I loved my hair on both days and was complimented so much on it. I couldn’t have asked for a more professional, friendly and kind person to do my hair and would recommend Laurie to any brides looking for hair for their big day!

Laurie was my hair stylist for my wedding. I came from Newfoundland Canada to get married in Ireland with having no connections or knowledge of the area. Her style stuck out to me so I decided to email her, laurie was so professional and prompt with answering all of my questions and I had hundreds. The day of the wedding she arrived bright and early to do myself, my mother, mother in law and 9 bridesmaids she had her hands full and had an assistant accompany her, everyone’s hair was so beautiful and stayed up the whole night. She let me try out a few hair pieces before I decided on the first and she had to put it back in with no complaints whatsoever. she made us all looks absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad she was able to share our day with us !!

Laurie did my hair for my wedding last Friday Dec 1st and I did have something in particular in mind and I showed her pics, because I was pretty sure it wasn't something many people have asked for in the past. I had a trial with Laurie and it turned out what I thought was perfect, but with Laurie being the perfectionist she is, she practiced so many times between the trial and the wedding and just did such a fantastic job the morning of the wedding, I was so so delighted with it, not to mention the fantastic job she did on all the bridesmaids and flower girls hair too!

Wedding August 2017 Newpark Kilkenny Laurie from Headds Up Wedding Hair Specialist was just amazing the morning of the wedding, From Galway to Kilkenny was no problem for Laurie, My hair was exactly what I imagined from my visions and ideas from the trial. It was everything and more thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough. From the trial to wedding morning tweaks the brides maids X4 which all had ideas of there own laurie excelled , she also did the mother of the bride who is extremely picky when it comes to her blow Dry Laurie’s skills really showed and everyone was so happy with there Hairstyles that Day. I highly recommend Laurie From Headds Up Wedding Hair Specialist and look forward to up-style as a guest when passing by Galway to Weddings in the Future

Laurie did my hair for my wedding back in April 2017 along with my mam sister in law and 3 bridesmaids. Laurie was so easy to deal with from the word go nothing was a problem she was so obliging and couldnt help out enough on the morning it was a pleasure and im so glad she was part of my special day. Laurie is extremely talented in her work and there is no style she cant do. . She did an amazing job on us all, The girls all loved their hair as well. I cannot recommend laurie enough you will not be disappointed!! xxx
