We are Shane and Aoife Hennessy, a husband and wife musical duo offering a range of packages and options for your big day. Each with over fifteen years' experience providing high quality music for weddings and events, we bring a breadth of knowledge and expertise to our wedding offerings. We have performed at hundreds of wedding Ceremonies and Drinks Receptions across Ireland’s premiere wedding venues.
We primarily offer vocals, guitar, and violin music as a duo, but also offer the addition of piano as part of our duo packages (in certain circumstances). In addition, we regularly provide musical accompaniment to other prominent wedding music suppliers across Ireland, individually and as a duo.
We travel nationwide and offer individual and duo package options, catering to all styles and for civil, spiritual, and religious ceremonies alike. We specially arrange all of our repertoire and will perform any music the couple chooses. We provide vocal and instrumental options to suit all settings, and work closely with all of our couples to assist them in curating the perfect repertoire for their ceremonies. Our Drinks Reception set is vast, and includes pop, folk, jazz, traditional, film and musical, classical, and seasonal favourites.

About Shane: Shane is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, and performer. Career highlights to date include a sold-out solo concert at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, collaborations with internationally renowned artists including Tommy Emmanuel and Bill Whelan (Riverdance), and appearances at major music and arts festivals in Ireland, Europe, the USA, and Canada. Shane tours annually across North America and Europe, and in 2023 was privileged to perform his début at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Shane also regularly features in national and international broadcast media.
About Aoife: With over 15 years experience working in musical performance, recording, arrangement, accompaniment, and education, Aoife has provided musical contributions to hundreds of weddings and events, in Ireland and overseas. She holds a first class BA (Honours) in Music, and trained in piano, violin, and flute from childhood. Aoife has also performed in some of Ireland's premiere venues, including the National Concert Hall, The Helix, and Cork Opera House, and is also an active musical accompanist, collaborator, and session recording musician.

Aoife and Shane performed at our wedding and they were absolutely amazing. They were exactly what I wanted for the day — professional, talented, and created the perfect atmosphere. They really listened to my requests and took everything on board, which meant the music felt very personal to us. Everything was flawless and they made the ceremony extra special. I would highly recommend Aoife and Shane to anyone looking for fantastic wedding performers.

Aoife and Shane were so lovely to deal with from day one. They were so professional and accommodating. They were so good with communicating with us with the lead up to the wedding to ensure our day would be perfect. The day of the wedding, their music was fabulous, really added to the vibe of the reception. Would highly recommended them. Our guests were so complementary of their music.

I was so delighted when Shane and Aoife were available on our Wedding date. From the moment we made contact, both Shane and Aoife were incredibly professional, friendly and kind.
It was the best decision we made. Nothing was stressful, both are fantastic musicians with so much experience so you don't have anything to be worried about.
Music was such a big part of our day and we were so happy with our song choices and how beautiful the Church ceremony turned out because of how they were performed.

We booked Shane & Aoife for our wedding ceremony and drinks reception in December 2025. They were simply unbelievable! So professional, accomodating and flexible with what we wanted for our day, right up to slight changes minutes before the ceremony, they were brilliant. They played every song we requested and learned a piece of music that was special to Sarah and her Dad which was one of the highlights of our day. If you care about music at your wedding you will likely spend hours trying to find the right couple/group for you; during that process you will learn how talented Shane & Aoife are as musicians. The music at our wedding was incredible, Shane & Aoife did the Ceremony & the Reception and were absolutely fantastic. Their song list is both brilliant and huge and they also accept requests.
Getting married is a day full of emotions and music heightens everything. Shane & Aoife are incredibly talented and with all the money you will spend on your wedding day this is one of the expenses you genuinely get value for money. My only regret from the whole day was that we spent a lot of the time they were playing at the reception outside taking photos. However, all our guests loved them and I can't wait to hear them again at another wedding. Thanks again both for helping make our day so special.

Choosing Shane and Aoife for our wedding ceremony music for our wedding was one of the best decisions we have made. I had watched so many of their youtube videos of their music and just thought they were absolutely fantastic so I was so glad they had our wedding date available! The music for the whole ceremony was so beautiful. We had a mix of vocals and instrumental and we absolutely loved it. There is not enough ways to describe how amazing and talented Shane and Aoife are. We had the pleasure of having them play our ceremony and drinks reception at Smock Alley and from start to finish they were incredible.
Not only were they so easy to deal with and organise, they were also incredibly professional and helpful, and their selection of songs on Instagram helped us pick our wedding music. They nailed all of our song requests and they were a lovely presence to have on the day. We had guests tear up from some of their song covers! They have the talent to create a special, emotive ceremony atmosphere and then kick off a lively, fun reception.

Shane and Aoife are amazingly talented and we could not have asked for a better duo to play our ceremony and reception music! They provided a beautiful acoustic set for our ceremony and added an additional song last minute with everything played to perfection. You really set the tone for a perfect day and all the guests commented on how brilliant you were. Their list of songs is extensive and we still listen in awe when new ones pop up on your Instagram! They have tons of videos and examples of songs for your day both religious and non-religious. They helped us so much when choosing our songs for our church wedding.

So let me start by saying that Shane and Aoife were amazing all the way through but ill explain just how good in a moment.
In the lead up to the wedding trying to keep on top of everything can be challenging but the lads were so professional and they were one of the vendors we had no stress with.
Lets then go to the ceremony itself. It was chaos. Kids running up and down the aisle before the bridal pary and it required guessing when to start and the lads adapted amazingly to it. There was the priest randomly changing things up but once again Shane and Aoife werent phased. We also had some strange song requests from songs as Gaeilge to musical arrangements and they were performed perfectly.
We also got them to entertain guests at reception. And they were just fantastic.
There is a relative of mine who is known to go to weddings and when the music stops he applauds "because they finished"(his words). The compliments this relative gave to Shane and Aoife was just jaw dropping and justifiably so. They kept all our guests entertained while we were off getting pictures. I have had some very honest feedback from others about how lovely the reception was because of the music
I have so few moments i look back on our day and think i would have done differently. One of them was that i should have been selfish and just sat and enjoyed the music.
I normally try to keep my reviews as honest as possible, state what happened and draw attention to positives and negatives. There were no downsides to Shane and Aoife. Just two lovely people who made our day extra special.

Aoife and Shane were an absolute dream to work with from day 1. They were very responsive, professional and considerate during the booking process and my wife and I found their videos on instagram amazing and inspirational when choosing music for our own ceremony. These videos demonstrated their huge range and abilities individually and together, as well as showcasing their impressive repertoire. We picked an eclectic mix of songs for our ceremony and Aoife and Shane were completely open and willing to learn any song we wanted.
They made the planning very exciting as we could plan the various elements of our ceremony around the music we had picked. On the day, there was a little bit of a lul in our ceremony as we waited for our rings to make their way to the alter, Aoife and Shanes professionalism kicked in as they began playing a beautiful tune to fill the time, you would have sworn we had planned it. We also had Aoife and Shane play our drinks reception which was unsurprisingly amazing also. They read the room and kept spirits high, playing to our whole wedding cohort a mix of music suited to all age groups. I couldn't recommend them highly enough, they are outstanding musicians and really lovely people.

Shane & Aoife were nothing short of spectacular! They worked with us from day one to play an uncommon request to walk up the aisle and it was magical! They were so lovely and every single guest commented on how gorgeous and soothing the music was during the ceremony. Our niece and nephews were so excited to hear the “married life” tune from UP and to dance along to all the wonderful tunes at the drinks reception! Our ceremony involved a wide range of musical requirements, including specific covers, original material we had written and needed rearranged, a song accompanying a bridesmaid singing (with no rehearsal possible), and several visual cues for changes throughout the ceremony.

Shane and Aoife performed during our church wedding and drinks reception. They were so professional and easy going. No request or question was too much and allowed us to settle in and enjoy the day. We even asked them to introduce us and the priest which they did with no hesitation and resolved so much stress.

We had our wedding last week and had Shane and his friend Tara Howley for the ceremony and reception music. Their talent is just incredible and I will forever remember them for playing my favorite song that holds a special meaning to us for the ceremony (Young and Beautiful). I hope they do a video of this song so I can forever listen it 😀
Shane, his wife and Tara were so helpful throughout the process, helping me organize the ceremony song choices and even learning a few new songs at our request. Their booking process is flawless and makes everything go so smoothly. They played wonderfully for the ceremony and reception and I feel sorry I didn’t get more time to listen all the songs. I will recommend them to everyone 😊

Shane and Aoife performed at our wedding ceremony and drinks reception at Ashley Park House last July, and we couldn’t have been happier with them. Their extensive repertoire and the live examples on their Instagram page made them an easy choice. Aoife was incredibly responsive and accommodating, offering great advice on song selection and order. They even learned a special version of Three Little Birds for our exit song—it was so nice that we couldn’t help but linger a little longer to enjoy it in before walking out! We first heard Aoife and Shane play at a wedding fair and knew we wanted to book them. They were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We asked for range of songs for our ceremony and each one was played beautifully, with many guests commenting on their performance afterwards. We also booked Aoife and Shane to play during the reception drinks, which gave the room a great lift, starting the evening on a high. We would 100% recommend them to anyone. Thanks Aoife and Shane!

Music was really important to us for our ceremony and Shane & Aoife were amazing. We had picked several songs that they had no issue learning for us and they really went above and beyond for us to make sure all of our favourite songs could be incorporated into our ceremony making it very special. I cannot recommend Shane and aoife enough! Their flexibility and ability is second to none. They made the whole process so easy and relaxing and were so easy to communicate with and understand exactly what I was looking for. Our ceremony included music pieces across different genres and all were so perfectly performed along with our singer Eimear. Looking back on videos, it’s the music that gets me everytime. Our special songs included in our ceremony in such a gorgeous, authentic way. I cannot thank you enough for helping us to make our day as amazing as it was!

We couldn't have been happier with the music that Shane and Aoife performed. We initally came across them at another friends wedding and we thought they were fantastic!
They were so accommodating and learned every song we asked for. A special moment for us was when my sister was able to sing alongside them during the ceremony. They were great at communicating with us and her before the big day. They really added a lovely atmosphere to our reception drinks.

We could not rate Shane and Aoife highly enough. We were so, so glad we had them as part of our big day, for both the church ceremony and the drinks reception. our guests commented on how fantastic they were and they really added to the Christmas atmosphere of our wedding (29 December). Their range and repertoire is really excellent and we were vey happy with all of our communication with them beforehand. No request was too big and they even learned a specific version of Avicii 'The Days' for the church ceremony. Would really recommend to any couple!

Shane and Aoife were an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They played for our church ceremony and made it so special. One song was Lady of Knock, Shane sang it so beautifully (voice sounds 100 times better in person) I was almost in tears as it was my Granny's favourite Hymn. Any requests we made were no problem. Many of our guests praised the music and said the ceremony was lovely. We also could not believe how affordable they were, especially considering we were paying for 2 musicians. Our advice is, don't hesitate, book Shane and Aoife now!! You will not regret it.

We hired Shane for our ceremony and reception music in Darver Castle. We couldnt recommend him highly enough!
Right from the beginning he was so easy and friendly to deal with. He was also very proactive in reaching out to us as our wedding approached which made everything much easier in the build up.
We gave him a list of 5 songs for the ceremony and he did beautiful acoustic versions of all.
Our guests were all raving about his reception music too, it was a big highlight of our day.

We had already booked another artist to perform at our ceremony and drinks reception, but when I saw a video of Shane and Aoife I knew we had to change, and it was honestly the best decision. Not only were they unbelievable on the day, during our ceremony and drinks reception. But they were incredibly helpful throughout; no request was too much, they accommodated our song choices perfectly and even sent us a sample recording of my aisle song (much to my excitement).

Shane played at our wedding ceremony and drinks reception - he was absolutely superb. It was so emotive to listen to him play our favourite song, which he had learned especially for our ceremony, as I was waiting to walk down the aisle. Lots of our guests complimented his music too. He has an incredible range of songs up his sleeve and he also learned several special requests in advance. Shane was also really efficient and generally fab to deal with when planning. We highly recommend him and hope to catch him at one of his gigs soon!

Shane was such an incredible addition to our ceremony. He's a fantastic guitar player with an amazing voice and had the entire church in awe.

Aoife played at our wedding on the 12th of May 2023. From the minute I spoke with Aoife I knew she was going to be just amazing. Firstly she was so quick at responding and for a bride planning this is brilliant. Also Aoife was playing music alongside my Auntie & Cousin and made huge efforts to meet and talk and go over the song list before our big day. I knew that Aoife was going to be so punctual, so easy to work with and again nothing was too much for her. Aoife helped the ceremony run so beautiful. To the little detail of playing beautiful pieces as people walked into the church to create a warm welcome.

We are so thrilled we had Shane and Aoife play at our wedding ceremony. They were absolutely amazing from the minute we first got in touch with them. Communication was brilliant, they always got back to us so quick and could literally play any song we wanted. We requested a particular song that meant a lot to us for the ceremony and they learned the song and it was played so beautifully, better than we could have imagined. So many of our guests have commented on how incredible the ceremony music was. We loved that we had the options of guitar, violin, vocals, instrumental and we could chose for each song. We had originally booked Shane solo but after hearing him play with Aoife on his website we just knew we had to have them both! They are a fantastic duo and the perfect vibe for our reception! Shane and Aoife, played for our wedding ceremony and our drinks reception.They were absolutely wonderful and all our guests were raving about them. They made our day really special. They are very professional and made the whole process so easy from the first point of contact right till the end. We would highly recommend!

Shane & Aoife were amazing and very easy to work with on every level. We had them play at the second day of our wedding and everyone was blown away by their talent. They kept the room entertained all evening with their choice of songs. We would highly recommend using them for any of your musical needs!

Shane was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the moment we first contacted him. Shane played both our ceremony and drinks reception, we had so many compliments on the music for both! Shane is the consummate pro and we were absolutely thrilled to have him perform at both our wedding ceremony and reception. There's nothing he can't play, he accommodated all of our requests, and riffed his way wonderfully throughout our entire reception ??gauging the mood of the room and taking the atmosphere up a notch or three as and when needed. Can't recommend him enough.

Shane was absolutely fantastic, he made the day so special for us. We had some obscure song requests and he did them beautifully. We got so many requests for his details from our guests, I would highly recommend him.

Shane played at our wedding reception in April 2017. He was absolutely AMAZING! He is a genius on the guitar. The sun was shining and Shane playing the guitar as we arrived to the hotel was just magic. All of our guests commented on how lovely the music was. Shane has a natural talent and is very professional. Count yourself lucky if he plays at your wedding. ????

Shane played guitar soloist at our drinks reception. His music set was varied, flexible and suited to the audience; anything we wanted. Shane was one of the highlights of our Wedding day. The experience he contributed to our day was very special and unique. Shane is a gifted, talented young man. And we were so pleased he was able to share the day with us.
