We are Shane and Aoife Hennessy, a husband and wife musical duo offering a range of packages and options for your big day. Each with over ten years' experience providing high quality music for weddings and events, we bring a breadth of knowledge and expertise to our wedding offerings. We have performed at wedding Ceremonies and Drinks Receptions across Ireland’s premiere wedding venues.
We primarily offer vocals, guitar, and violin music as a duo, but also offer the addition of piano and flute as part of our duo packages (in certain circumstances). In addition, we regularly provide musical accompaniment to other prominent wedding music suppliers across Ireland, individually and as a duo.
We travel nationwide and offer individual and duo package options, catering to all styles and for civil, spiritual, and religious ceremonies alike. We specially arrange all of our repertoire and will perform any music the couple chooses. We provide vocal and instrumental options to suit all settings, and work closely with all of our couples to assist them in curating the perfect repertoire for their ceremonies. Our Drinks Reception set is vast, and includes pop, folk, jazz, traditional, film and musical, classical, and seasonal favourites.

About Shane: Shane is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, and performer. Career highlights to date include a sold-out solo concert at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, collaborations with internationally renowned artists including Tommy Emmanuel and Bill Whelan (Riverdance), and appearances at major music and arts festivals in Ireland and abroad. Shane tours annually across North America and Europe, and in 2023 was privileged to perform his début at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Shane also regularly features in national and international broadcast media.
About Aoife: With over 15 years experience working in musical performance, recording, arrangement, accompaniment, and education, Aoife has provided musical contributions to hundreds of weddings and events, in Ireland and overseas. She holds a first class BA (Honours) in Music, and trained in piano, violin, and flute from childhood. Aoife has also performed in some of Ireland's premiere venues, including the National Concert Hall, The Helix, and Cork Opera House.

From the beginning, Shane & Aoife were amazing. Their professionalism and kindness in their communication with us during the Wedding build-up was excellent and very reassuring.
Their website was fantastic, and gave us so much guidance in choosing special music for our Wedding Church Ceremony.
On the Wedding day itself, they arrived well in advance of the start time, and did a lot of testing around the entire Church to make sure everyone could hear them.
Their constant politeness and smiles on their faces was noticeable throughout the entire ceremony. The music itself was fabulous and got a lot of compliments from our Guests.

Shane and Aoife are amazingly talented and we could not have asked for a better duo to play our ceremony and reception music! They provided a beautiful acoustic set for our ceremony and added an additional song last minute with everything played to perfection. You really set the tone for a perfect day and all the guests commented on how brilliant you were. Their list of songs is extensive and we still listen in awe when new ones pop up on your Instagram! Shane & Aoife were absolutely everything we could've asked for and more. After finding them on instagram, it was so easy to see they would be a perfect fit for our wedding ceremony and drinks reception music. Once we reached out, they were so responsive and helpful in choosing the right songs and guiding us through the process. They're clear veterans in the industry, and we had complete trust in them to make the big moments so special. They absolutely delivered, and were even able to play a request of ours which wasn't on their already extensive songs list. They are a really lovely couple and were nothing but professional, friendly and respectful, as well as being top-class musicians - they were happy to prepare our song choices, which really meant a lot.

Aoife and Shane were an absolute dream to work with from day 1. They were very responsive, professional and considerate during the booking process and my wife and I found their videos on instagram amazing and inspirational when choosing music for our own ceremony. These videos demonstrated their huge range and abilities individually and together, as well as showcasing their impressive repertoire. We picked an eclectic mix of songs for our ceremony and Aoife and Shane were completely open and willing to learn any song we wanted.
They made the planning very exciting as we could plan the various elements of our ceremony around the music we had picked. On the day, there was a little bit of a lul in our ceremony as we waited for our rings to make their way to the alter, Aoife and Shanes professionalism kicked in as they began playing a beautiful tune to fill the time, you would have sworn we had planned it. We also had Aoife and Shane play our drinks reception which was unsurprisingly amazing also. They read the room and kept spirits high, playing to our whole wedding cohort a mix of music suited to all age groups. I couldn't recommend them highly enough, they are outstanding musicians and really lovely people.

Shane & Aoife were nothing short of spectacular! They worked with us from day one to play an uncommon request to walk up the aisle and it was magical! They were so lovely and every single guest commented on how gorgeous and soothing the music was during the ceremony. Our niece and nephews were so excited to hear the “married life” tune from UP and to dance along to all the wonderful tunes at the drinks reception! We booked Shane and Aoife for our ceremony and drinks reception and they were incredible!
Music was a big part of our day and they were great to work with, they were very responsive, very accommodating and everyone really enjoyed their music. We really appreciated that they played a song with my dad during the ceremony and even did a practice run with him that morning. 10/10!

Shane and Aoife performed during our church wedding and drinks reception. They were so professional and easy going. No request or question was too much and allowed us to settle in and enjoy the day. We even asked them to introduce us and the priest which they did with no hesitation and resolved so much stress.
Shane and Aoife's website is very clear and all their videos makes song choice so much easier, although they have so many nice versions that it's hard to include all the songs.

Shane & Aoife performed at our church ceremony in Dublin in October 2024. They played some Bridgerton-esque songs before the mass started which were a massive hit with the guests! We chose a lot of songs that were extremely meaningful to us and Shane & Aoife did them all justice. We wanted a mix of instrumental and vocal, so it was great that Shane & Aoife could offer both. Aoife and Shane went above and beyond for our wedding day. We wanted very specific video game music for our church ceremony and they absolutely nailed it! It brought a tear to our eye hearing how brilliantly they did the pieces of music. They were always kind and courteous when in communication with us. Always made us feel at ease. Shane and Aoife were brilliant for us on our big day. They were so flexible. We had them booked initially for our reception only and when our ceremony singer pulled out Aoife and Shane were so helpful in doing our wedding at late notice. Shane sang at our church wedding and reception drinks. He was so easy to work with and extremely professional. He worked with my sister on a song to sing at the church and it was beautiful. We first heard Aoife and Shane play at a wedding fair and knew we wanted to book them. They were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We asked for range of songs for our ceremony and each one was played beautifully, with many guests commenting on their performance afterwards. I cannot recommend Shane and aoife enough! Their flexibility and ability is second to none. They made the whole process so easy and relaxing and were so easy to communicate with and understand exactly what I was looking for. We could not rate Shane and Aoife highly enough. We were so, so glad we had them as part of our big day, for both the church ceremony and the drinks reception. our guests commented on how fantastic they were and they really added to the Christmas atmosphere of our wedding (29 December). Their range and repertoire is really excellent and we were vey happy with all of our communication with them beforehand. No request was too big and they even learned a specific version of Avicii 'The Days' for the church ceremony. Would really recommend to any couple!

Shane and Aoife were an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They played for our church ceremony and made it so special. One song was Lady of Knock, Shane sang it so beautifully (voice sounds 100 times better in person) I was almost in tears as it was my Granny's favourite Hymn. Any requests we made were no problem. Many of our guests praised the music and said the ceremony was lovely. We also could not believe how affordable they were, especially considering we were paying for 2 musicians. Our advice is, don't hesitate, book Shane and Aoife now!! You will not regret it.

Shane & Aoife literally made our dream ceremony come true!
We had already booked another artist to perform at our ceremony and drinks reception, but when I saw a video of Shane and Aoife I knew we had to change, and it was honestly the best decision. Not only were they unbelievable on the day, during our ceremony and drinks reception. But they were incredibly helpful throughout; no request was too much, they accommodated our song choices perfectly and even sent us a sample recording of my aisle song (much to my excitement).
If you want your ceremony to be special, uplifting and completely unique, I highly recommend booking Shane & Aoife for your event!

Shane played at our wedding ceremony and drinks reception - he was absolutely superb. It was so emotive to listen to him play our favourite song, which he had learned especially for our ceremony, as I was waiting to walk down the aisle. Lots of our guests complimented his music too. He has an incredible range of songs up his sleeve and he also learned several special requests in advance. Shane was also really efficient and generally fab to deal with when planning. We highly recommend him and hope to catch him at one of his gigs soon!

Shane was such an incredible addition to our ceremony. He's a fantastic guitar player with an amazing voice and had the entire church in awe.
He gave us great guidance over what would be acceptable in a Church and at which part of the ceremony hymns should be played. Any of our own selections outside of the hymn list, he played beautifully. We were so happy to have Vulpeck to really make the ceremony our own.

Aoife played at our wedding on the 12th of May 2023. From the minute I spoke with Aoife I knew she was going to be just amazing. Firstly she was so quick at responding and for a bride planning this is brilliant. Also Aoife was playing music alongside my Auntie & Cousin and made huge efforts to meet and talk and go over the song list before our big day. I knew that Aoife was going to be so punctual, so easy to work with and again nothing was too much for her. Aoife helped the ceremony run so beautiful. To the little detail of playing beautiful pieces as people walked into the church to create a warm welcome.

We are so thrilled we had Shane and Aoife play at our wedding ceremony. They were absolutely amazing from the minute we first got in touch with them. Communication was brilliant, they always got back to us so quick and could literally play any song we wanted. We requested a particular song that meant a lot to us for the ceremony and they learned the song and it was played so beautifully, better than we could have imagined. So many of our guests have commented on how incredible the ceremony music was. We loved that we had the options of guitar, violin, vocals, instrumental and we could chose for each song. We would highly recommend Shane and Aoife to anyone getting married.

We had an outdoor ceremony and we?re very passionate about music so our vision was to have our favorite songs as a couple played throughout the ceremony surrounded by nature. Shane and Aoife created this vision for us seamlessly! With planning from abroad (we live in Canada) they made the entire process so easy. The craziest thing is that they got married just one week before us, and still managed to create the most perfect set for us. We had Shane and Aoife for our wedding in Slane and they were just fantastic from start to finish!! From we booked with Shane, he was more than accommodating and very friendly, I couldn't fault him! We had Shane and Aoife play for our day day in Kilkenny, and they were just amazing!!! Great mix of music that suited everyone and took on all requests from guests. Shane played at the second day of our wedding and was absolutely fantastic. He really engaged the crowd and had everyone up dancing, and created a great atmosphere. Our only regret was that we didn't have him for longer. Shane was really professional to deal with and made the whole booking process really simple, straightforward and stress free.

We had Shane play for our Wedding Day 2 and from the moment we first got in contact, I knew we were in safe hands. We were delighted to have Shane and Aoife for our ceremony and reception! They were so easy to work with from the very first email, and our guests loved their sound on the day. We asked for some Irish melodies during our ceremony, and some more modern songs for our reception. It was such a treat to listen to you, and thank you both for making the soundtrack of our day so special to us!

We were very lucky that Shane and Aoife braved storm Eunice in February to play our drinks reception for our wedding. They were extremely professional from the first enquiry right up to the day itself, and so so pleasant to deal with. We had originally booked Shane solo but after hearing him play with Aoife on his website we just knew we had to have them both! They are a fantastic duo and the perfect vibe for our reception! Shane & Aoife were amazing and very easy to work with on every level. We had them play at the second day of our wedding and everyone was blown away by their talent. Shane is the consummate pro and we were absolutely thrilled to have him perform at both our wedding ceremony and reception. There's nothing he can't play, he accommodated all of our requests, and riffed his way wonderfully throughout our entire reception ??gauging the mood of the room and taking the atmosphere up a notch or three as and when needed. Can't recommend him enough.

Shane was absolutely fantastic, he made the day so special for us. We had some obscure song requests and he did them beautifully. We got so many requests for his details from our guests, I would highly recommend him.

Shane played at our wedding reception in April 2017. He was absolutely AMAZING! He is a genius on the guitar. The sun was shining and Shane playing the guitar as we arrived to the hotel was just magic. All of our guests commented on how lovely the music was. Shane has a natural talent and is very professional. Count yourself lucky if he plays at your wedding. ????

Shane played guitar soloist at our drinks reception. His music set was varied, flexible and suited to the audience; anything we wanted. Shane was one of the highlights of our Wedding day. The experience he contributed to our day was very special and unique. Shane is a gifted, talented young man. And we were so pleased he was able to share the day with us. Not only were they so easy to deal with and organise, they were also incredibly professional and helpful, and their selection of songs on Instagram helped us pick our wedding music. They nailed all of our song requests and they were a lovely presence to have on the day. We had guests tear up from some of their song covers! They have the talent to create a special, emotive ceremony atmosphere and then kick off a lively, fun reception.
They are a fantastic duo, top class musicians and an all-around lovely couple who we would recommend to everyone. Thank you Shane and Aoife!
