We found the Hoteldorf Gruner Baum on the internet when we were looking for wedding venues abroad and immediately knew this was the place that we wanted to get married. The hotel and scenery looked stunning and it didn?t disappoint when we got there. The place is amazing in reality and there are were so many opportunities for photos in lovely surroundings throughout the day. From the first time I made an initial inquiry to the arranging of all the details of the day, Sigrid couldn?t have been more helpful. She provided information on the practicalities of getting married abroad as well as sorting everything for the day ? flowers, meals, registrar, hair, make-up etc. The day was exactly what we wanted and involved a drive in a vintage car to have photos taken at the waterfall and surrounding mountains, as well as a horse drawn carriage ride into the national park. We chose an intimate wedding but the hotel could easily accommodate a large party. Sigrid, her family and the staff at the hotel made sure everything was very relaxed for us on the day and we had an absolutely brilliant time. This is an amazing venue coupled with a very personable service provided from this lovely family-run hotel. We couldn?t have chosen better.

On the 14th December We all pulled up in the mini bus provided by the hotel and I cried and so did a few others on the coach from my party, the hotel was breathtaking I couldn't have been happier, we walked in and was welcomed by a mulled wine and friendly staff, who checked us in and brought our bags to our rooms, we were all together in one block as requested and each room was beautiful in different ways, each had different uniqueness and all clean in every way, the views from every window was beautiful and looked like a postcard. As bride and groom we were greeted by a big heart shape on our bed made from the duvet and had rose petals on it, we had a corner bath tub in our On suit which also had rose petals and candles around it, all our guests wanted to come and look at our room and were all impressed and took photos.
Our wedding day was everything I wanted and more, we started by all having our hair done which was organised by the hotel, the hairdresser was brilliant, i had a photo of what I wanted and she did it exactly like the photo, when it was time to get married Sigrid came to the room and walked me across to the parlour where we got married, the room was set up lovely, we had the fire station car which was amazing and that took us to the water fall after the ceremony where we had a toast with champagne, we then went back for sandwiches and soup which was delicious, we then had the horse ride carriage for us and all our guests, this was a must with breathtaking views and we were so looked after and kept warm, half way round the national park we stopped at a gorgeous cabin and had mulled wine and apple strudel and custard, it was delicious, when we got back we were sat down to a beautifully decorated room where we had a 3 course meal which was served hot and tasty later we had a DJ who played all the music we wanted and we had a dance and got merry. I was not rushed during my day and everything was in place for me, exactly how I wanted it and more. Our wedding day was perfect and the best day of our lives and we have sigrid and the hoteldorf gunner Baum to thank for making our dream come true.
The hotel during our stay had activities running every day inc ice curling, igloo building and a touch walk which we all took part in and were fantastic.
Our holiday consisted of adults and children from 2yrs old to 13yrs and the hoteldorf catered for all ages and each loved it, one of my guests said to me "this is like paradise with snow" and he was right, it is my paradise.
