Ballintubber Abbey

We had our wedding in Ballintubber Abbey in December 2025 and it was nothing short of magical. It created a wonderful backdrop for our ceremony and the staff in Ballintubber did everything they could to facilitate us and our requests.

We had such a lovely experience from the moment we booked the Abbey. It is so beautiful and the staff were above helpful and pleasent to us and all of our guests on the day

Fabulous venue and staff

We got married in Ballintubber Abbey in September. It was the best day of our lives. The Abbey and surrounding grounds is absolutely fabulous and all the staff is very helpful. Teresa was so good, she helped us every step for our big day

We got married in Ballintubber Abbey last summer, and we couldn't rate it highly enough. Firstly, the abbey and the grounds are just beautiful. It's steeped in history and is the most magical place for a wedding ceremony. Being from Mayo, I always wanted to get married in Ballintubber and was thrilled when the date was free! Teresa and Muriel made the entire planning process hassle free. Muriel was with us for the rehearsal and on the day itself and couldn't do enough for us. She was there through it all, even fixing my dress and veil before I walked up the aisle!! Our guests still rave about the beautiful abbey we got married in, and we will look back fondly at our pictures for many years to come. If you can, have your ceremony in Ballintubber - it truly is the most special place!

From our first impression the picturesque Abbey and fabulous surroundings spoke for themselves. What we didn't know about the abbey was how fantastic the staff were. From our initial contact with the abbey, their staff in particular Teresa went above and beyond for us. No request was too big or too small once we were happy they were happy. The Abbey and surrounds are spectacular for pictures and videography. The acoustics of the Abbey are unrivalled, or ceremony music sounded amazing. If you want the fairytale wedding setting look no further.

I got married in jun 2024 in Ballintubber Abbey. The church is absolutely stunning but aside from that It was seamless to book over the phone. I ended up moving my service forward and they accommodated it no problem and we're always ready to help or provide advice. Would highly recommend

Where do I begin. Ballintubber Abbey is such a magical church. The rich Catholic history preserved within its walls, the beautiful grounds, and the amazing people are exactly what we had in mind for our celebration of holy matrimony. From start to finish communication was excellent in preparing for our wedding. We had a small group of family and friends traveling from the United States to celebrate with us. They were all amazed. The verdict simply put, we couldn’t have picked a better church in Ireland! Father Michael did an amazing Mass for us and was accommodating to our needs coming from out of state. Such lovely memories we cherish from our wedding day. We cannot wait to come back and visit.

Had a dream wedding in Ballintubber. Teresa and Fr Fahy were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Local singer Sarah O' Dowd & Tom Lyins were amazing and would definitely recommend all of the above if you're thinking of getting married in Ballintubber

The staff in Ballintubber Abbey were absolutely fantastic from the day we booked. We dealt with Teresa who answered every query we had even on her days off, she was so helpful. There were 2 staff members present on the day who were there to help with anything even fixing my dress and opening curtains before walking up the aisle. We did our mass rehearsal and had another staff member who talked us through everything that evening such as where to stand and what the normal wedding protocol was as we were a little unsure on the day. We would highly recommend and the place looked fabulous. The church was also spotless. It is also a lovely spot to get photos outside on the day. Was so happy we chose Ballintubber Abbey.

Don’t know where to start from booking our wedding date, to the day of our wedding our experience was absolutely amazing. So helpful from paperwork, decor, helping the bridal party and myself the bride before the mass, completely professional and so pleasant. Our guests commented on how magical the abbey was on our wedding day. If only we could do it all over again and the wedding photos in and outside the abbey was the icing on the cake. Would recommend to any bride and groom.

A dream come true!

It was honestly one of the best days of our lives. We cant thank Teresa, Fr. Farragher and the staff at Ballintubber Abbey enough. They made everything a breeze for us and helped so much in regards forms etc.. in the lead up which made our lives so much easier in that busy period leading up to the day. I’d highly recommend Ballintubber Abbey as a wedding venue. Our guests loved it, we loved it and truly made the day one we will never forget. Thanks again Ioseph and Orla.

We cannot recommend the team at Ballintubber enough, we had the most magical day and we were looked after in the lead up, on the day and even afterwards. The church was stunning and they accommodated our suppliers so well and any additional needs we had for our guests. Just everything went so smoothly - our guests were in awe of the place when they walked in and are still talking about it a whole year later. We feel so fortunate to have had our wedding ceremony at Ballintubber Abbey - the Abbey is beautiful and historic and such a special place. Organising the wedding while based in Australia was a little bit daunting but the entire team at Ballintubber made the process so seamless and enjoyable. We felt so supported the whole way through and we can’t thank you enough. From talking us through the formal requirements, providing templates for our wedding booklets and helping us find other wedding suppliers, the team at the Abbey were always there for us and so generous with their time.
The Abbey itself is beautifully presented and the grounds made the most incredible backdrop for our wedding photos. We were so grateful to the team at the Abbey for walking us through the site and the grounds in the lead up to the day and their tips for the best spots for photos. Our experience was so positive from the first email to wrapping up on the day. We couldn’t recommend the Abbey more highly for a wedding ceremony.
