Built in 1827 as a wedding gift, Ballykealey is a venue with purpose. From its original Tudor architecture to its sweeping lawns and versatile event spaces. It’s a house made for celebration.

Whether you're planning an intimate wedding of 40 or a celebration for 275, Ballykealey adapts. The ballroom comfortably seats large gatherings, while our heritage spaces cater to smaller numbers with warmth and atmosphere.
Our onsite accommodation for 105 Guests, Ballykealey House offers 12 bedrooms in the manor, 2 garden suites, and 15 self-catering lodges all on the estate. We also partner with local accommodation providers to ensure every guest is covered.

We had our wedding at Ballykealey House this July, and we can honestly say it was the best day - and best weekend – of our lives. From the moment we arrived for our very first visit, we completely fell in love with the venue and the team. In fact, Ballykealey was the only venue we viewed, because we knew instantly that nothing else could compare. We booked it right away.
From that very first meeting right through to the wedding weekend itself, the communication and support were exceptional. Everything was clear, organised, and reassuring, and the packages were fantastic—so much was included that we barely needed to add anything on to create our perfect day.
There were a few key things that really made Ballykealey stand out for us:

When we first met James, we instantly liked him—he was so welcoming and flexible, and throughout the planning process he was always happy to make adjustments or offer guidance. Guests are still talking about the food, which was a standout from day one.
Angela and Richael were amazing wedding coordinators—so informative, so organised, and so supportive. They always had great advice and made us feel completely at ease in the months leading up to the wedding.
On the day itself, Alison and the whole team were simply phenomenal. It was like they could read our minds; everything we wanted or needed just happened seamlessly, without us having to think or worry about a thing. Their attention to detail was incredible.

Ballykealey House is breathtaking. One of the hardest decisions we faced was choosing where on the estate to hold our ceremony—there are so many beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces that we truly were spoiled for choice. The ballroom is elegant without feeling formal or stuffy, and the layout of the venue meant we could move around throughout the day, using different areas for our drinks reception and creating a fun, relaxed flow for our guests.
The bridal preparation spaces were also stunning. The bridal suite was perfect on the morning of the wedding—calm, spacious, and beautifully done.

We also had our day-two barbecue at Ballykealey, and it was every bit as wonderful as the wedding day itself. James and the team once again went above and beyond. We were lucky with gorgeous weather, and the grounds looked absolutely beautiful—ideal for a relaxed second day surrounded by family and friends.
We are just so grateful to the entire Ballykealey team for giving us the most unforgettable wedding experience. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care shone through at every stage. We can't recommend Ballykealey enough! The venue is truly magical, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive. From the moment we booked until the big day itself, we were so well looked after by Angela, Luke, and the entire team. They guided us through every step of the process, offering advice and support that made everything feel so much easier than we ever expected.

AMAZING from start to finish. We had our full wedding celebrations at Ballykealey house last month, including ceremony and day two, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The venue, food, customer service, everything was just top class. All staff were a pleasure to deal with (to Luke and Angela, all the managers, the bar staff and night porter, Tom) and made us feel so special all weekend. We had guests travel from all over the world and they all raved about how perfect everything was. Thank you to all at Ballykealey - Wish we could relive it again!!

Absoutely everything about this venue was perfect. They have several locations for a ceremony, each one beautiful. The team are so thorough and helpful in all the preperations leading up the wedding and on the night of the wedding the wait staff are also incredible.

There were so many members of staff that honestly took care of us. From viewing the venue to the wedding day itself, there was never a silly request that couldn’t be done. We felt so comfortable from early on and knew we were in good hands. The revamp to the Powder Room is also fab. Both hair and makeup commented how great it was and the lighting was perfect as other venues don’t seem to cater for that. It really was brilliant and would highly recommend. We love our food and we couldn’t fault it - the attention that the Chef puts into the food is just next-to-none. You also have exclusive use of the venue so there’s no concerns at all! It’s a stunning venue and couldn’t fault a thing.

Wow- I really cant praise Ballykealey house and its staff enough!
We could not fault one thing over the two days of our wedding and it was the best decision to pick Ballykealey house as our wedding venue. From the moment we got there until the moment we left the staff were absolutely amazing. So attentive, professional but also so down to earth and friendly. It felt like they were part of the family. Our guests commented relentlessly on the chats and banter they had with the different members of staff over the two days. You really are experts in everything you do and pull everything off flawlessly!
The second thing commented on the most was the food. In fact the most common comment was "how did you guys find this place?!", in disbelief. The food was out of this world. Everything was so delicate and the attention to detail in each dish was superb, from the banquet dinner, the breakfasts and the barbeque.
We all felt like we were in another country on holiday, having the whole place to ourselves over the whole weekend. I would 110% recommend (and have already done so!) Ballykealey house as a wedding venue to anyone!Thank you so much to Janice, Angela, Bruno, JP, Luke, Conor, the chef, everyone who made it so special for us and our guests! We got married in Ballykealey House in October 2024 it was amazing day, from meeting with Angela from start to finish she will brill, her and the staff attention to detail was amazing. The food was delicious, all our guests are still talking about how incredible the steak was. The house and grounds were just beautiful and so well kept. We had the most amazing wedding day that ran smoothly from start to finish. All down to Angela who had everything organised beforehand and Bruno and Janice on the day who looked after all guests but especially the bride and groom. Couldn't fault the venue or food. We also got married in the barn on-site which we were fortunate to setup ourselves the day before which puy our minds at ease. We cannot say enough good things about Ballykealey House! We visited a number of places during our venue search but Ballykealey just felt ‘right’ immediately. The warmth of Angela (our wedding coordinator) during that first visit was a huge factor. As time went on we felt that same warmth and friendliness from all the staff. As with most hospitality businesses, it’s the people that make all the difference. Alison, Wesley, Luke, and the rest of the crew couldn’t do enough for us and it made our day so special.
We had the best weekend ever celebrating our wedding. We had the whole thing on site from ceremony to day 2 BBQ and party. Our friends and family have been raving about the wonderful food, service and overall venue experience. So many people have commented on how special the weekend felt. Having the place to ourselves for both days certainly fed into that. We couldn’t recommend Ballykealey House and the team enough. If you’re looking for a private venue with options for outdoor and indoor ceremony and drinks reception, the most amazing food and wine (with generous portions) and super friendly and efficient service then you’ve found the place!

From the moment we walked into Ballykealey House, we felt truly welcomed. This venue was incredible they were so well organised and everything ran so smoothly. Both the indoor and outdoor ceremony options were lovely that's why we chose it and because the staff were so helpful and went out of there way. We were looking for an exclusive wedding venue that catered for both indoor and outdoor weddings so that we were covered for all weather types. We viewed loads of locations but none felt right until we visited Ballykealey.
From the start, the location, building and amenities were stunning. We fell in love with the barn and fountain areas and the dinner room was the nicest we saw. But weirdly enough it was the staff that made it for us. They were so helpful, happy and accommodating from the beginning and all the way through planning. Even on the day and afterwards, so many guests were complimenting them and the service we all received. The food was also beautiful and the surroundings looked beautiful for both days. We truly loved having are wedding here.

We got married on 15th June in Ballykealy House and it was amazing! From start to finish the service was top class. Angela, Luke and the team were so supportive and helpful throughout the year leading up to our wedding. The food was amazing, the venue stunning and the staff were so accommodating and obliging to all guests. We also celebrated day 2 of our wedding in Ballykealy House, which consisted of an amazing barbeque in the barnyard followed by drinks and music in the main bar. Although we cannot give enough compliments to the location and venue, it was the staff led by Wesley who really helped to make our weekend so special- they were unbelievable and we cannot thank you enough!

Myself and my husband got married on the 11th of May in Ballykealey, it was a fairytale from start to finish. The two years leading up to the wedding Angela and Luke and all the staff in reception could not have been more helpful. The grounds and venue itself are absolutely stunning, the food was incredible but the staff are what made our day. Every member of staff made our day incredible. They are so friendly, so helpful and no ask was too big. All our guests can’t compliment them enough. I really can’t recommend this venue enough it was above and beyond all of our expectations and thank you to all the staff who made our day so special.

We got married in Ballykealey in April 2024 and I cannot recommend the venue and the staff enough. From the minute we first viewed it in March 2022, it just felt right, the house is obviously stunning and the staff were just so welcoming. They went above and beyond in the lead up to and on the day itself. Angela was always on hand to answer any questions we had and to give advice when needed and we trusted her judgement and we were right to do so.
All of our guests had a fantastic time and raved about the venue, the food, the grounds and the staff. The newly renovated barn was finished just before our wedding so we were thrilled to be able to use that on the day for our ceremony, just magical!
The day was just perfect from start to finish. We got ready at the venue also, which was wonderful and made the whole day so relaxed. Wish we could do it all over again!

Getting married at Ballykealy was one of the best decisions my wife and I have made (other than marrying each other, of course). We were fortunate to be able to make a trip over and have lunch at Ballykealy a couple of months before our actual wedding date, and the team made sure we felt right at home. No detail was missed, and it gave us a clear picture of what our wedding day, and the days leading up to it, would be like.
Once we arrived at the venue for a few days of celebration, Luke and the team made the process as easy as could be. Everyone was greeted with a drink and a smile, and our guests weren't rushed into a line of process to get bags sorted, etc... Everything was calm, efficient, and friendly.
After a few days of amazing food and well-organized music for the lead-up, it was time for the big day. To no surprise, the staff had an incredibly calming effect on everyone involved, picking up on any small tasks that came up unexpectedly as to not worry my wife and I with the minutia. The venue was perfectly decorated, the timing was spot on, and the night wrapped as any good wedding should, with the entire dance floor chanting the bartender's name in thanks.
As a couple from overseas, having a team like Angela and the group at Ballykealy is the only way we could envision carrying out such an amazing week while planning so much from afar. We'll always remember our week there, and the people that made it happen.

Once we arrived at the venue for a few days of celebration, Luke and the team made the process as easy as could be. Everyone was greeted with a drink and a smile, and our guests weren't rushed into a line of process to get bags sorted, etc... Everything was calm, efficient, and friendly.
After a few days of amazing food and well-organized music for the lead-up, it was time for the big day. To no surprise, the staff had an incredibly calming effect on everyone involved, picking up on any small tasks that came up unexpectedly as to not worry my wife and I with the minutia. The venue was perfectly decorated, the timing was spot on, and the night wrapped as any good wedding should, with the entire dance floor chanting the bartender's name in thanks.
As a couple from overseas, having a team like Angela and the group at Ballykealy is the only way we could envision carrying out such an amazing week while planning so much from afar. We'll always remember our week there, and the people that made it happen.

We had the most incredible day at Ballykealey House. From the first day that we went for a viewing, we knew it was the place for us. The house and grounds are just stunning and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Angela did a phenomenal job of planning every meticulous detail and the day went off without a hitch. We had our ceremony in the barn which is a gorgeously rustic and intimate venue, perfect for our group of 100 guests. The meal was amazing - we were blown away by it at our tasting and it was just as good on the day itself. So many of our guests told us that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding! The service during the meal was outstanding. Wesley, Bruno and the team were so well-organised and couldn't have done more for us. The day was perfect from start to finish. I really couldn't recommend Ballykealey enough. Thank you for going above and beyond for us!

I can't recommend Ballykealey enough. Everything from the food, service, decor was just amazing. The staff were so attentive and were so helpful throughout the whole experience. We stayed the night before the wedding and had a meal with family and friends, the food was amazing and it was so lovely to have the house to ourselves. The wedding day went off without an issue. We got married in the barn and it was beautiful. Our guests were really impressed with the food. We got married in November and the house was decorated with huge Christmas trees it was just stunning. As I said I can't recommend Ballykealey enough.

Our wedding in September was just the most magical day thanks to all the staff at Ballykealey House. From our first viewing of the venue we just knew this was the perfect venue for us. The location and beautiful forest backdrop just blew us away and as for the food….it was the ultimate hit. Every guest commented on how fabulous the food was and they are still talking about it to this day!! Everything from start to finish went so smoothly and we were so relaxed and were able to soak up the most beautiful day. I have tried a few times now to write just how amazing Ballykealey were, but in all honesty words cannot describe how fantastic the entire staff and venue were from start to finish. They were always so incredibly helpful with every single inane questions we had, made sure every whim was entertained and always had a brilliantly relaxed yet efficient approach to the entire process, which helped keep our stress levels low at all times! Couldn't have asked for a better venue.

The staff in Ballykealey made what could have been a very stressful day, one of joy, love and laughter. We had the best day and this is down, in a large part, to their professionalism and their skill. Listening to their suggestions always led to the best option for us. Their advice on where to get ready, weather reports, timings and food choices were exactly what we needed and we really appreciated them. We didn't have to worry about a thing on the day and the highest compliment that we can pay is that we wouldn't want to do it again, because it couldn't be improved upon. It was the best day. From the minute we stepped foot inside Ballykealey House, we knew this was the one for us! Angela the wedding coordinator was outstanding and really easy to deal with. Angela and her team were very quick to respond to any emails or queries that we had from the day we originally booked in 2021 to our wedding day in June 2023. On the day itself, everything was a breeze! Unfortunately after weeks of sun, the weather changed that particular morning and we had some rain. Therefore our arrival drinks were inside the bar area, rather than the beautiful gardens. But again, no issues. There was a break in the rain and we managed to get outside to use the beautiful gardens for our photos.
Overall, food was fantastic. Service was fantastic. All of my guests thoroughly enjoyed the venue. One of my friends who got married 5 years ago, could not believe how amazing Ballykealey was and said she would 100% go there if she was getting married again and would be recommending it to everyone she knows now, as will we!
We also had Day 2 down in the Barn and it was everything and more. The rain kept away and we were even pulling out the suncream. We chose the BBQ option and it was perfect!
I can't say enough great things about Ballykealey. It was just the most magical day. Thank you! x

From the moment we viewed Ballykealey we knew this would be our wedding venue. The Manor House and its grounds are simply stunning. There is an onsite barnyard as an indoor ceremony option which is beautiful and you can also have your day two BBQ here which is what we opted for. There are also multiple other outdoor ceremony locations on site. The service, staff, and food were exceptional, we had so many compliments from our guests on all of the above! This is truly a hidden gem and we can't thank Angela and all of staff and Ballykealey enough for giving us the perfect wedding weekend. We cant wait to return for a visit in the near future.

Absolutely fantastic staff who couldn't do enough for us on the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding day itself. All very helpful. The venue itself was super with so many options for the ceremony and food was out of this world. All the guests still comment on how good it was.

Ballykealey was a dream venue for us. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, lots of options for photos! All equally gorgeous. There's a good range of locations where you can host your ceremony and reception depending on numbers and weather! We had a rainy day in the end and have to say, we wouldn't have had the running of the day any different. The staff are without a doubt the biggest highlight for us, not only were they incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond on every request, but they were such a wonderful presence on the day. Always smiling, looking to help, looking out for the best interest of our guests and myself and my husband. We have had endless complements from our guests on the whole weekend - we had day 2 in the barn and we had an absolute ball! Our family and friends couldn't fault a thing, and neither can we. We cannot recommend Ballykealey enough, they really made the run up and day of so so so special and we will always be grateful to them for everything they did for us. Without any hesitation whatsoever would I recommend Ballykealey House for your wedding!!

Ballykealey was the perfect venue for us form the moment we walked through the door for our first viewing. Although there are so many selling points for this beautiful venue, the staff were exceptional and went above and beyond at every turn especially Angela and Alison who worked closely with us in the day. The food was amazing, the grounds were magnificent for photographs and the accommodation was ideal and reasonably priced. We had the most amazing day and would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

We couldn't recommend Ballykealey enough; so many people commented on how nice the venue and food was. It was brilliant having the place to ourselves and the fab grounds to take photos in. Every member of staff we dealt with was lovely. Angela the wedding planner was brilliant, and everyone who was there on the day from Alison and Luke to all the waiting and bar staff were fantastic.

Ballykealey House is an amazing venue with an even more amazing staff. They went above and beyond for us from the very first impromptu viewing, which we asked for after a family 60th birthday celebration, where the food and service were impeccable. Our dealings with all staff during the planning phase were just effortless. Everyone is so friendly and warm and this shone through on our wedding day where we were taken care of like we were one of their own. All my guests were blown away by the quality of food, by the beautiful venue and grounds and by the attentiveness and friendliness of all staff.

We could not have wished for a better venue for our wedding day in October 2022. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond for our guests. Everyone was so friendly and couldn't be any more helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and all the guests were raving about it! The setting alone is so picturesque and a perfect location for the most amazing photos. Everything was so well organised and ran like clockwork thanks to Angela and the team. They really do put the needs of the guests at the forefront of what they offer as a wedding venue. Last minute changes were facilated without any hassle and they took the stress away from us. Ballykealy House was our perfect wedding venue! Myself and my husband got married there in August 2022 in an outdoor ceremony and had the most perfect day imaginable. The venue and food are absolutely stunning, but the staff is what makes this place really special. Every member of staff we encountered were incredibly helpful, professional and friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect day. They put everyone involved in the wedding at complete ease from the very first interaction and throughout. The venue itself is so gorgeous and they have wonderful decor available - we didn't need to hire any additional items, and the place was perfect. There are so many beautiful locations for the ceremony, drinks receptions and photos, and the barn area is absolutely perfect for a BBQ on Day 2. I'm so glad we got married at Ballykealy House and would highly recommend it.

Arnaud and I had the best day we could hope for on Thursday 04th August 2022. From the minute I arrived to Ballykealey during our first visit, I fell in love with this stunning venue, beautiful lawns, endless pretty and romantic places for pictures and the interiors are so charming and majestic for a wedding. I immediately knew this is where I wanted to get married!
All the staff is so welcoming and friendly - thank so much to Angela who was so great to deal with throughout all the planning and so accommodating. Thank you to Luke and Allison who were lovely also during the day and made me feel so relaxed, we also shared some laughs which was great.
All our guests and family coming from France were truly impressed with the venue, the service...and the food! Compliments to the Chef, my guests are still talking about it.
I highly recommend this picturesque and magical place for a perfect and elegant wedding.

We could not be happier about our choice of venue for our wedding on the 15th of July 2022. Ballykealey house has so much to offer. There are so many places to have your ceremony and reception in the grounds of Ballykealey house. There is the most beautiful Manor House, the rustic stone barn and a variety of beautiful settings outside such as the fountain, the clearing in the woods and front lawn. It has so much to offer whatever your style. We decided to make the most of the whole venue and had our ceremony in the barn, drinks reception by the fountain, main reception in Manor House and photos throughout the gardens. Our photos are so beautiful with natural backdrops amongst the trees, flowers, garden lights and stone walls and the elegant rooms. The team in Ballykealey were amazing from start to finish. On the day they were exceptional. We were so relaxed as they were confident and in control and also just so friendly and nice people. The ballroom had been renovated between the time of booking and our wedding and was just beautiful.
Our guests were very happy also. Ballykealey house has been a hidden gem. A lot of our guests had never heard of it or been there and were very impressed. The food was exceptional. The rooms and lodges are gorgeous. We were blessed with the weather also. We had one day at Ballykealey and it was the best day. We would highly recommend it to others. Thank you to Angela, Alison and all team. It exceeded all our expectations. We wish you all the best for the future and are excited to return again!!

A truly great venue to host family and friends on one of the most memorable days of your life. Sadly the venue was not available for day-two celebrations as there was another wedding reception being held there the following day, so it would have been the ultimate experience to be able to spend a bit more time at the venue and on the grounds after the big day. Everyone was very happy with the entire day and helpfulness of staff. Very straightforward dealing with staff regarding arrangements, it's just unfortunate there wasn't enough accommodation to cater for the +130 guests in attendance on the day. Would recommend to a friend!

Fabulous location. Angela the wedding co-ordinator is an asset to the business. She was so honest and really sold it for us. She worked with us and nothing was an effort. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially Cliona, Alison, Tom and evening staff. Food was loved by all of our guests. Ballroom has a fabulous backdrop of the gardens. Ideal setting for pictures. BBQ in the barn on day 2 was just a perfect intimate area for family and friends and food was perfect. My family loved the venue. We had exclusivity the day of our wedding. Highly recommend Ballykealey House.

Ballykealey House is an absolutely amazing wedding venue. From the day we had our showaround to the wedding day everything they did was faultless, professional and friendly.
It was no issue at all to customise many elements of the wedding day - Ballykealey were more than accommodating and Angela always gave us great advice when we were unsure of things.
Angela, Luke, Cliona and all of the staff are just so nice, professional and genuine - many of our guests remarked on this after the wedding.
THE FOOD. We love good food and it was one of the more important things we were looking for when we chose our venue. The food was out of this world.
The location, the venue itself are just stunning. They have a huge outdoor space with massive lawns, gardens and woods which we made full use of for our drinks reception and photos.
The house interior is also amazing, you really have to see it and you will be wowed.
We also found it to be good value when you compare it to other country house venues. They have a few standard packages but we were able to have a bespoke package and swap things in and out to suit our preferences.
We had an amazing day and we have so much to thank Ballykealey House for all their help and for hosting it for us.

From the initial viewing to the actual day it was such an easy and pleasurable process to work with everyone. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to have the ceremony and the reception. The barn was so beautiful and we had the loveliest afternoon having the drinks reception outside, we got so many positive comments about dinner, the quality and taste of the food and the service. Having the venue to ourselves and being able to have everyone stay on site was such a benefit and really added to the atmosphere of the whole wedding. Being able to have all our friends and family together after the past two years in such a welcoming place meant the world to us.

Ballykealy was an amazing venue. The staff were second to none and the food was divine. We had our wedding during covid with 56 guests and the attention to detail by the staff was amazing regardless of covid. We got married in the barn on site and we loved having the whole venue to ourselves. If we had to do it all again I would still choose Ballykealy house.

Ballykealey House was the most opulent exquisite and stunning wedding venue we could havse imagined. The food is michelin standard, the service is friendly yet professional and the gorgeous gardens and secret woodlands make for a spectacular backdrop for a non church wedding. The stunningly beautiful tudor room with high ceilings, coving and chandeliers holds a covid wedding party perfectly and is nothing short of magical. This venue is a hidden gem and matches its owners other gorgeous venue, Kilshane House, in every way. A perfect venue for couples from Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow, Laois and Kilkenny.

We were their first wedding since reopening under new management and from the very beginning we were met with professionalism, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in making sure our big day was as we wanted it to be. We were lucky enough to get married on-site, and everything about the day was simply perfect. One of the biggest joys of choosing Ballykealey was being able to have our two dachshunds with us — they even acted as our ring bearers, which made the day even more special and personal.
What truly makes Ballykealey House extraordinary is its incredible team. I have never encountered a group of people like them before. From our very first visit right through to the end of our wedding day, every single member of staff went above and beyond for us. They looked after every detail, answered every question, and made us feel completely at ease. Our guests are still talking about how warm, professional, and kind the staff were.
We cannot praise the team at Ballykwaley highly enough and If you’re considering it for your wedding, don’t hesitate for a moment. It truly is the most wonderful venue with the most incredible people behind it.’
