So pleased we chose Ballyseede Castle Hotel for our wedding! The venue is absolutely stunning, from the grounds to the castle itself to the brand new Belfry where we had our ceremony. We visited many potential venues but really nothing could hold a candle to Ballyseede. What's more, the staff went above and beyond on every front for us. We knew we were in safe hands with these pros from our first visit, but we were still blown away by how they preempted every need on the day! Thank you so much to the whole team for giving us and our guests such a beautiful set of memories to treasure forever.

Got married end of July. Had the best day every the staff are so lovely and helpful😍 The food was amazing. Any problem was solved with ease. Couldn't recommend it enough.

We got married in Ballyseede Castle Hotel on July 4th 2024 and loved every minute of the day!
Firstly, we couldn’t speak highly enough of Mary, our wedding coordinator, as well as Hilla and the rest of the team - they were so responsive throughout our planning and answered all questions we had so promptly.
Ballyseede is the perfect size venue for a wedding and we felt like we had the castle to ourselves. The bridal suite was absolutely stunning and the bridal party had plenty of space getting ready on the morning of the wedding. Our guests were also raving about their rooms and how beautiful they were!
The Belfry is just the perfect ceremony venue - perfect size and gorgeous when decorated for weddings! Initially we were hoping for an outdoor ceremony, however once we saw the Belfry, we knew this was the place for us and we never looked back! Even though the weather also didn’t play ball for us on the day, it didn’t matter - even with the rain, it was perfect and we were still able to get beautiful pictures.
The food at Ballyseede is outstanding! All our guests were so complimentary about the food, as well as the service itself - we absolutely could not fault either! The staff were so fantastic from start to finish.

We had our wedding in Ballyseede Castle Hotel on the weekend before Christmas. We had a truly fantastic day. The decorations in the Castle were lovely and all of our guests were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Nothing was too much to ask of Marnie, Rory, Mary, Hilla, Doreen or Esther. They and the rest of the team kept the day relaxed and everything went so smoothly.
The food was delicious and all of our guests commented on this. The venue itself has a great flow that made each transition effortless, including the set up for the band and the location of the dance floor near to the terrace. The crowd was together throughout the night which made for a fantastic atmosphere.

We had our wedding in Ballyseede on the 8 December 2023 and it was the most amazing day! From the moment we booked Ballyseede for our wedding, it was the most amazing experience. Mary was a pleasure to deal with and nothing too big or too small was too much for her. We staying in Ballyseede the night before and every member of staff couldn't have done more to help us. Hilla was a pleasure to deal with and ensured everything we needed was there. The day of our wedding was literally a fairytale. From the moment we arrived back from the church everyone went above and beyond for us. Marnie and Rory were there for us and helped with anything we needed. The decorations and set up was everything we wanted. All of our guests raved about the food and atmosphere. The reception room was beautiful with all the decorations and lights. I could not recommend Ballyseede enough for everything they done for us and made it the most magical day.

I cannot begin to describe how magical our wedding was at Ballyseede Castle. Every single member of staff made us feel so so special. The team at Ballyseede Castle go so far over and above in every aspect to ensure you have the best day. I couldn't fault a single thing. Mary Lyons the wedding coordinator was always on hand to answer a call or email and without hesitation answered every question we had and even gave us some beautiful ideas for our special day. We felt so relaxed and at home all day and the whole team at Ballyseede Castle looked after us as if we were family.

Ballyseede Castle provided us with our perfect wedding day, the team couldn't do enough for us on the day. All of our guests were complimenting the food, some saying it was the best meal they had ever had at a wedding!! Maeve in particular was never too far away from me on the day, she even cleaned the bottom of my wedding dress while we were left to enjoy a glass of champagne alone before joining our drinks reception! Herself, Hilla, Esther and the rest of the team were really fantastic on the day and I couldn't recommend Ballyseede Castle highly enough as a wedding venue :)

We got married in Ballyseede Castle in June 2023 and can say without a doubt it was the best day of our lives.
We are living in Canada at the moment but I always wanted to get married close to home. From the day we emailed Ballyseede in early 2022 they were more accommodating than we could have imagined. The team were flexible and offered Zoom meetings to discuss details while we were on the other side of the world. Every email across the 16 months of planning we answered in detail within minutes to hours. The planning process of the whole event was seamless. The team at Ballyseede are not joking when they say they are the experts in this. I wont lie, I was nervous the day before unbeknownst to what to expect regarding all the details, but those nerves were wasted time.
The night before the wedding, the day of the wedding and the day after, the staff couldnt do enough for everyone. From Ester at breakfast, Nicola, Hilda and the amazing Mary, Marnie, the owner, to Tom at the bar. Every single staff memeber went above and beyond for us. No ask was too much. On what you hope will be the best day of your life, the team at Ballyseede make that easily achieved.
The team work incredibly well with all our vendors and we didn't have to deal with any of them over the weekend. It was all handled for us.
We cannot recommend Ballyseede Castle enough. It truely was the most beautiful and perfect venue with the perfect staff running the show.

Ballyseede Castle Hotel was the only venue we looked at when planning our wedding, we fell in love with it on first viewing. All the staff we dealt with were so professional and helpful, they made us feel very special on the day. The bridal suite was unbelievable, it was huge and so comfortable. While Ballyseede don't offer menu tastings it is easy to see why when you are enjoying the meal. The food is phenomenal, we had steak on our menu and every guest who tried it commented how good it was. The best part of booking Ballyseede was the staff they made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day allowing us to relax and enjoy it. Great location and beautiful grounds

We had our wedding last Sunday and we could not have been more pleased. Mary and her team were so incredibly helpful and great to work with. Always quick to reply ans answer any questions we had. The venue itself is amazingly beautiful. We truly had a fairytale wedding. The food was impeccable and we got all many compliments from our guest about how the day was so well organized start to finish.

From day 1, working with Ballyseede Castle was a dream. We found them online on a Google search, being from Longford and Cavan we had never been to the venue or seen it in person. This was during covid times so we weren't even able to go view the venue before booking it but the staff made every effort to help us get a good look at the venue as much as they could. Mary and Hilla were always so friendly and happy to answer all the questions we had, it never felt like we were bothering them. The whole team made us feel so welcome whenever we were there and helped us organise a pre-wedding BBQ the day before our wedding as well as most of our guests were travelling down. The whole wedding day was a dream and as Ballyseede were so professional, everything went off without a hitch. We knew we were taking a gamble with a venue that we'd never been to before or even seen in person but Ballyseede was so worth it. The staff were fantastic, the food was amazing and the venue is just spectacular. We'd both highly recommend Ballyseede for weddings, even a small getaway wedding like ours!

Mary and her team took care of us when we emailed to book a viewing till our wedding day. We were extremely pleased that they could do elopement weddings. We met Mary twice, on the day of the viewing and about 2 months before our wedding. She took notes and our celebrant coordinated with her. Their housekeeping team was terrific too, steaming my cloak, making our room after breakfast and helping me walk down the stairs in my ballgown. They took care of us after the ceremony too. The drinks and dinner were exceptional. We would highly recommend them.

Ballyseede went above and beyond and we had a very positive experience from start to finish. Staff very friendly and warm whilst being professional also. Management very efficient and had a hands on approach.

We can't thank all in Ballyseede Castle enough for how magical they made our wedding day. Mary and Hila were always so fast at responding to my queries leading up to the wedding. Marnie and all the team made sure we were so looked after on the day of the wedding. Would highly recommend getting married here. All our guests have told us how the day was like one out of a fairytale.

This enchanting wedding venue on beautiful grounds was the perfect place for our wedding. The banquet hall was more magical than I could have dreamt and the grounds were wonderful for exploring. The team was great at helping us plan our big day from abroad. They had an extensive menu to chose from and our selections were spectacular. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the how great the food was. The ice-creams at the drinks reception went down a treat too. I cannot praise the staff enough! So friendly and happy to be part of our day, they took care of setting up our photo-booth excellently. They welcomed us into the front room after our ceremony with a drink and selection of canapes, allowing us to catch our breathe and even helping me brush off debris I had gotten on my dress. The team were true professionals, everyone was checked in quickly and efficiently and they made us feel so looked after (storing my cape while I danced).

My husband and I made the best decision ever to host our wedding at the beautiful Ballyseede Castle in May 2022. Mary, Hilla and Marnie were a dream to work with over the past year and a half. They were always so responsive and reassuring whenever I had a question and they enabled our wedding to feel truly personal and bespoke - complete with shisha pipes, Lebanese sweets, personalised drinks and even a bellydancer. We really enjoyed visiting Ballyseede over the past year, and always felt so welcome - frequently offered teas and coffees by the wonderful Esther (front of house) and we were so touched to have been greeted by the owners during our menu tasting back in March, especially when they had a wedding happening at the same time! We knew we wanted to get married at Ballyseede Castle as soon as we saw it. The combination of the castle's beauty and splendour, combined with the warm, quirky atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted guests to feel at home, and to enjoy themselves - and that's exactly what happened. Eileen and Marnie were particularly helpful on the day itself, with Marnie helping to steam the bridesmaids' dresses on the morning of the wedding - always remaining so calm and organised. And Eileen always pre-empting a problem before it even happened - I remember she took my veil upstairs to my room without me even needing to ask. She is a star. Even the staff who manned the residents' bar were extremely warm and helpful, despite us staying until after 4am! Ballyseede is truly a unique venue - and it is down to the talented and friendly team of staff - that made our wedding such a success. Guests were praising the venue, the service, the staff, the delicious (and hot!) food and the smooth flow of the evening. We could not be happier, and we had - hands down - the best day of our lives.

Ballyseede Castle went above and beyond, for us on our big day. The staff were so polite, and helpful. We were made feel so special, and everything ran very smoothly. From our first email enquiry the team at Ballyseede Castle were exceptional! We had to postpone our wedding 3 times due to Covid and had to plan it from Australia. Each time the team were thoughtful of our difficulties and made the entire process stress free. They went above and beyond on the day to take care of everything so we could sit back and enjoy it. Little touches from Marnie and the team like helping our flower girls to practice, having hair clips and deodorant in a little cupboard in the tea room, even to ringing us the next morning to make sure we got breakfast made such a difference. This isn't just a venue, everyone at Ballyseede Castle welcomes you into their home and helps make the castle yours for your wedding day. We have now stayed at Ballyseede Castle 3 times and each time even outside our Wedding day the team service is outstanding. The barman even went to a different bar in the Castle as the Guinness was pouring better from the top bar! I cannot recommend Ballyseede Castle highly enough.

The staff of Ballyseede were wonderful to deal with and we really enjoyed our wedding day.

Ballyseede Castle is the most stunning venue any time of year but it is extra special at Christmas time with their d?cor and atmosphere. All the staff before and on the day of the wedding couldn't have been more helpful. There are so many locations inside and outside the castle for your photos. The orangery where the drinks reception is held is the perfect spot for people to mingle and have a drink together, and for the bride and groom to mix with their guests. The function room is just gorgeous with their chiavari chairs, table settings and their lights across the wooden beams, it's a really cosy setting. The food is absolutely delicious, it was so difficult to choose a menu but we went for the Salmon and Monkfish in pastry and the fillet beef and went down a treat. We had 112 people there and it was very comfortable.
The only area it could improve on was having more people behind the bar.

We truly enjoyed our wedding day at Ballyseede Castle. It is a unique and spectacular venue for a wedding and looked even more amazing with the Christmas decorations up. The hotel management and staff were a pleasure to deal with, not only on the day itself but the lead up to it. They were most hospitable and very professional. The standard of food served was second to none and all of our guests really had high praise for it. We would definitely recommend Ballyseede to other couples.

We had the most amazing wedding weekend in Ballyseede! We had never viewed the venue ourselves, my mum and sister had done it on our behalf and we booked (pre COVID) on the spot based on their wonderful review. We planned our wedding from the US, throughout COVID and the staff at Ballyseede could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The staff are phenomenal, not just in the lead up but on the day itself too, making sure ties are straight, flowers are held correctly and any last minute bits! They truly are a class act, they strike the perfect balance of making sure the day runs smoothly while allowing your day to be yours. Given our time of year, end of November, we had the choice of whether the Christmas decorations would be up. We went with it and are so pleased we did. The castle looks truly spectacular in Winter time and so many of our guests commented on the beauty of the venue. We had rain on our day but the grounds have shaded, tree covered spots for outdoor pictures in spite of this. The potential for indoor pictures is just amazing too and one of the reasons we picked Ballyseede, given we were planning a November wedding. The wedding meal was excellent and commented on by many guests, as was all the food over the entire weekend. I would not hesitate recommending Ballyseede Castle as a wedding venue. It truly was unforgettable and will always be so special to us.

We had our wedding at Ballyseede Castle in September this year and it was a magnificent day from start to finish. The staff were more that helpful and friendly, I can't say enough about Esther and all the front of house staff. I personally pulled up to the back door and everything from there on in was done to perfection for all of us. Food was excellent and rooms were amazing, our entire group of guests are still talking about the great time they had. It was a second time lucky for us, we initially planned on getting married in May, but due to restrictions was put back to September. The lead up was painless from a brides point of view, Mary, Marnie, Hilla just to name a few were completely on the ball and so professional. Ballyseede is a venue that you can just show up to, its beautifully decorated, wonderful flowers and stunning grounds. We didn't need to bring any extras. We were very happy with the choice of menus and packages. The food tasting was beautiful. The day of the wedding was perfect, was greeted by Marnie and she had all the essentials on hand for us both, hair spray, deodorant, clips and drinks. The waiting and bar staff were all so pleasant and helpful. The food was the best I've ever had at a wedding, and the service was second to none.
The breakfast was equally as nice the following day.
The bedrooms were comfortable and very tastefully decorated. I would highly recommend this as a venue if your looking for a 5 star wedding experience.

From start to finish it was a dream dealing with all the team at Ballyseede Castle. With so much uncertainty surrounding covid, somedays planning a wedding was challenging however the team at Ballyseede were so reassuring and only for them, I don't think we would be married :) We simply cannot say enough about all of them.

As for the venue itself, words cannot describe it.
The food and service was spectacular and our guests are still talking about it. With 150% confidence, Ballyseede Castle is the only place you need to look at when getting married.

After having to reschedule our wedding twice due to Covid and starting our planning from scratch, we had our perfect wedding day at Ballyseede Castle.

The staff were incredible, from start to finish, especially Mary who was our main point of contact.

On the day, the food and wine were both fabulous and all of ours guests had nothing but compliments. The venue itself is breathtaking and we were lucky to have the sun shining so our guests could enjoy the gardens before coming inside.

It couldn't possibly have been any more perfect and we will have the most precious memories of the most beautiful day for the rest of our lives.

Ballyseede Castle from the very first day meeting Mary was one of the most amazing venues we visited. The staff are extremely helpful and were always very willing to help with anything we needed. On the day of our wedding the staff could not be more welcoming and all our guests were highly complimentary of the staff. The venue is magical and it was the best decision for our wedding. The food, accommodation and location was better than we could have expected. We had a delicious meal on the day of the wedding but the night before the food available to our guests was also of very high quality. Breakfast is excellent and the staff, especially Esther, were welcoming, full of chat and always extremely helpful with anything we requested.
I couldn't recommend Ballyseede Castle more as the most perfect wedding venue. Our guests have been so complimentary of the venue and said it was the best wedding they had been to and I truly believe this is due to the service and attention we received from all at the hotel. Perfect venue for a perfect day.

Where to start...having our wedding at Ballyseede Castle exceeded all of our expectations. Our journey began when we visited Ballyseede Castle in February 2020 (pre-covid) and met with Mary and fell in love with the venue and atmosphere there. We booked our wedding for August 2020 and shortly after, the pandemic hit Ireland. Mary and all at Ballyseede Castle could not have been more accommodating and arranged a new date for us in June 2021 and also arranged a provisional later date for us in case our June wedding was not possible.

Luckily, we were able to proceed in June and everyone at Ballyseede Castle made our day magical. We stayed the night before our wedding and they couldn't do enough for us, while still always giving us space to enjoy ourselves. Marnie just goes above and beyond and gently made sure we were all on time and organised on the morning of our wedding, and made sure all the bridal party were looking their best and had everything we needed when we returned from the church. The canapés and food and drinks were amazing, everyone was commenting on the quality of the food and how outstanding the venue is. The little patio off the ballroom was ever popular and made sure all the guests were kept together and we weren't losing people throughout the evening.

All the staff on Ballyseede Castle couldn't have been more kind and accommodating with Marnie, Mary, Hilla, Paul, Joyce and Ester being particularly popular with the bridal party and guests. Everything was taken care of without us asking and the day ran so smoothly and was completely stress free.

I couldn't recommend Ballyseede Castle highly enough as a wedding venue. Everything from the venue to the staff to the food and the grounds (excellent for wedding photographs) was just exceptional and the entire day completely exceeded our expectations. Also we were hesitant with all the unknowns and restrictions of Covid but all staff went above and beyond to make our day feel like a "normal" wedding day.

We had the most amazing wedding day with you on December 28th 2020! We chose Ballyseede as I had showed Daniel a picture when we met to show him that I'm going to get married there (with or without him!) little did I know he would book a stay there the night he proposed & we went on to book our wedding with Mary the following morning! Ballyseede Castle is the most magical place, full to the brim of character & ran by the most professional & warm group of people! Everyone was so welcoming to us and to all of our guests - absolutely nothing was too much to ask!

We would like to specially thank Mary for her hard work dealing with our numerous questions & requests & handling all of our postponing and rebooking stress so professionally! Having Marnie come to the bridal suite the morning of the wedding for some words of wisdom & important tips was just so lovely! Eileen was amazing on the day & everyone ensured our wedding went so smoothly. The venue is spectacular but the staff from reception to bar to breakfast were all fantastic (especially Esther!). Our guests were all blown away by the food, service & of course the beautiful rooms and decor! We could go on forever how amazing a place it is and we just cannot wait to return for another visit as husband & wife! Thank you all so much!

We were so happy with our wedding day we had the ceremony and reception in Ballyseede and we were treated like royalty from start to finish. Top quality food, impeccable service and personal touches everywhere

It's been almost a month since our wedding day and we cannot thank you enough for everything. From the very day we walked into see the venue last November and met with Mary, we knew that it was the perfect fit for us.

Over the couple of months we spent planning, the Ballyseede team and Mary were always available to take calls and answer questions. 2020 brought plenty of twists with Covid 19 but all the team in Ballyseede were extremely flexible and reassuring.

When the big day came on in October 2020, we were completely blown away with the hospitality the hotel provided us. With only 25 guests by the end of the day all the staff were familiar with the names of everyone in our party and so attentive to the needs of each and every person.

The hotel decor was absolutely beautiful and the change in location of our ceremony to Maimie's Lounge was the most perfect and intimate fit. The drinks reception in the Orangery was wonderful and there was a natural flow into the garden as we got our photographs taken. Again the attention to detail was excellent.

We enjoyed a fantastic banquet in the Stone Room, service and decor was second to none. Food was cooked to perfection. Our guests were so complimentary towards the meal. No task was too difficult, thanks to Paul for retrieving my handbag with my speech and lipstick.

As the evening progressed we retired to the Orangery again for our evening reception and entertainment - it was the perfect space for a small group.

The bedrooms in the castle are absolutely beautiful, cosy and luxurious.

We felt as though the castle was our home for the day - the staff always on hand but completely unintrusive.

A huge thank you to all who worked on the day - Stella, Tim, Esther, Paul, Eileen, Derry, Hilla, Mary, Marnie and Rory - and anyone else we may be forgetting.

Our wedding day is a day we certainly will not forget - Ballyseede Castle exceeded our expectations and we cannot rate it highly enough. We certainly will be returning as we know many of our guests will.

We had our wedding in Ballyseede Castle in September, 2020, due to Covid-19 this was our third date (third time lucky!). From the moment we booked for our original date (April 2020), Hilla and Mary could not have been more helpful and accommodating. From the ease of re-arrangements in relation to dates, guests and room bookings for each potential date up until the actual day nothing was too much for the staff of Ballyseede Castle. From the bar food for the pre-wedding dinner to the 5-course wedding dinner, to the tea and scones, the food was delicious. The guests still talk about the food, the friendly staff and the comfiest hotel beds they have ever slept in. We would highly recommend Ballyseede Castle for a wedding, from the get-go the hotel understood our vision for a small intimate wedding (21 guests) and were more than accommodating and helpful.

We had our wedding reception at Ballyseede Castle Hotel on 14th March 2020. Prior to our big day communication was excellent, Mary answered all our queries quickly and fully, very responsive, helpful and flexible to accommodate our every wish. On the day, the food and service were first class. Food was devine and so plentiful, better than any award winning restaurant. Strongly recommend the beef, it simply melted in the mouth. Service was warm and friendly , yet professional. It was everything we hoped for and more. Would strongly recommend. 5 stars.

We had our ceremony, reception and day 2 at ballyseede castle. The staff were beyond amazing and couldnt have done more for us. The food was fabulous and of course the setting is beautiful. From the planning stages Mary was very helpful with everything. Everyone who attended have commented on how great everything was from start to finish. I couldnt recommend the place more!

I cannot praise The Ballyseede enough. We had such a great day and night. We had our ceremony on site which was beautiful and so special. The room is stunning and romantic. Our guests raved about the meal which was yummy. We can't fault the hotel for anything. We stayed the night before the wedding and left the morning after so there was no stress, which I believe the hotel helped with. Loved it. So happy that we chose The Ballyseede as I dont think our day would've been as special anywhere else.

Ballyseede Castle was all we wanted and more! It was the perfect place to host our Summer Garden Party wedding and even when there was a little bit of drizzle the orangery has a great outdoor indoor vibe. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble! The owners were so welcoming and we felt very special that they cake and took the time to chat with us during the wedding. The list of suppliers supplied by the venue is excellent and it is worthwhile having people who already know the castle supply different parts of your wedding. All of the guests were really impressed with the venue and the great value of the bedrooms for the night. Ballyseede is the perfect mix of everything. Professionalism, value for money and delicious food! It was perfect!

Ballyseede exceeded all our expectations on our wedding day. The service and attention to detail was amazing and we really appreciate all the work behind the scenes that made the day run so smoothly.

Ballyseede was a dream venue. The castle itself has so much character and you really feel like you are in an old castle. The staff went above and beyond to help with everything they could. I can't fault anything. We got married on 21 December right before Christmas and the castle was decorated like a dreamy winter wonderland. Our guests are still talking about it.

We said from the start we wanted to book somewhere with good food and Ballyseede did not disappoint. The food was perfection everyone was highly praising the food so thank you so much to the chef and their team.

On the Friday the night before our wedding we had an informal dinner in the Orangery for our bridal party, family and guests. We were even able to personalize the menu. Everything was organized to perfection.
Mary was my main point of contact when organizing my wedding. She was absolutely fantastic!! She was so prompt with her reply on any questions I had.
Our family and friends had a fantastic weekend thanks to all the staff and the beautiful setting. The dogs on the grounds made it extra special as we are both animal lovers -not to mention all our guests we trying their hardest to get the perfect selfie with them!

We were married on the 8th December 2018 and couldn't have asked for a more Christmassy setting. They even made a playlist of my favorite Christmas songs (Including some Harry Potter ones ). We had our ceremony in The Stone Room-what an amazing setting, everyone was in awe at the beautiful rooms, it takes you back in time to what living in a castle would be like, but also has a modern touch.
We stayed in the newer rooms which were stunning.

Ballyseede is just incredible, we would highly recommend the castle to everyone. All the staff made planning a wedding from London very easy and stress free, communication was always professional and they responded to emails very quickly too. They thought of every little thing and could not do enough for you - they really do make you feel like royalty. The food was delicious and plentiful and so was the wine!! Our guests are still talking about it and say that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The rooms are huge and very well furnished, especially the new suites, they are stunning and very comfortable. Overall - it was just perfect and we cannot wait to go back. We were just so happy with gr Ballyseede Castle. The staff , attention to detail and the food was amazing. We both loved our day and were delighted with how it all went. As the Ballyseede is a family run business they paid so much attention to the wedding couple from fixing my hair and spraying some perfume on me before I entered our reception to always making sure we were never without a drink. We held our wedding reception at Ballyseede Castle at the end of July 2018 and could not have wished for a more magical day. From the first day we stepped foot in this breathtaking venue we knew that this was the place we wanted to celebrate our special day. The venue is so unique, steeped in history and the beautiful garden is simply charming. We particularly loved the donkeys, Shetland ponies and quiet, friendly dogs who roam around the castle and grounds.

Ballyseede Castle is the perfect blend of old and new, with absolutely regal old world lounges and bedrooms in the main part of the castle contrasting with the stunning new orangery and luxurious bedrooms in the new extension. The main function room for our wedding breakfast was gorgeous with it's wooden beams, stone walls and twinkly lights setting a lovely ambience for us all to enjoy. The new outdoor seating area located just off the main function room was a great addition where our guests could relax in the fresh air at their leisure. The guests at our wedding have been singing their praises for Ballyseede Castle since our wedding day and cannot get over how amazing the venue was and also how delicious the food and wine were.

Every single member of staff made us feel welcome and important, not just on our wedding day but every time we visited before and after the wedding. We would like to particularly thank Marnie, Rory and Ashton who all helped to organize the details of the wedding. They were so kind, understanding and helpful at all times and we felt like we could ask them anything and we would be accommodated. Ashton was fantastic and took a lot of time in the lead up to the wedding to make sure that we were happy with everything - she was really lovely to deal with. On the day of the wedding Marnie and Rory were excellent, Marnie taking me into a room at one point to very calmly dry my dress with a hairdryer after I had spilled champagne all down the front! Rory also took the time to explain the history of the castle to us when booking our wedding, which we all really enjoyed and appreciated. My own waitress on the day took care of me very well and had preempted any requests I had, she also went out of her way to help us organize a surprise birthday cake with candles for the best man, which we were very grateful for.

Ballyseede Castle is a truly special wedding venue and we could not recommend them highly enough. We had an amazing day and wish we could have our wedding there all over again.

Marnie and Rory and their team at Ballyseede castle hotel are truly amazing. If you are looking for a venue with character and a relaxed, warm,intimate feel then look no further. No ask is too big and you can be sure on your wedding day, they are there for you 100% and want nothing more than to ensure you have an amazing day. The food is also exceptional, the fillet of beef melts in your mouth!

Our wedding day was a nice special day. The staff in the Ballyseedy hotel were very attentive and professional. The package we got, which was the summer regal package was exquisite , the drink was flowing and the portions of dinner was spot on.it was an exquisite day in a castle and would highly recommend to treat your guests to a day of luxury.

My experiences with Ballyseede were very mixed, involving both extreme highs and extreme lows. Ballyseede was one of the first venues we visited, and we fell in love, but rather than rush into it, we spent the next couple of months visiting 15-20 other venues closer to our home of Dublin to see if something else would catch our eye, it didn't, we were in love. So we moved ahead, booking in 2016 for our 2018 wedding. We were not informed at that time that there were plans to extend the building (an additional 16 bedrooms), despite that fact that I explicitly asked about any planned works before booking (as we were aware of the ?orangerie? plans). In fact the first we found out about it was when we went to visit in March 2017, when a sizeable proportion of the garden was gone, and foundations were laid for this sizeable extension, when we went down for a visit. Nobody had contacted us before this. Despite the fact that we had paid an extra deposit to keep all bedrooms for our guests, and so this was important information to us (although structural changes to a wedding venue would be important to pretty much any bride). In fact, this new ?wing? was only finished a couple of months before our wedding. The entire thing was handled incredibly poorly and added a huge amount of stress to our planning. I wish I could say this was the only issue we had in dealing with Ballyseede, but it wasn't. In fact there were so many issues that we seriously considered changing venues within 6 months to the wedding, and even checked availability of our second choice venue. Until about 2 months before the wedding I did not feel well treated as a normal client, never mind a bride, and genuinely did not feel that my custom was important to them. The saving grace was the beauty of the venue, coupled with the always excellent food, and the wonderful floor staff. I had to believe in my heart of hearts that the day itself would go perfectly and that our guests would not know the issues that I had had to deal with.


Much, albeit not all, but much of the issues could have been better dealt with if Ballyseede just had a dedicated wedding planner. I asked multiple times to deal with just one person ? I specifically requested Mary as she was always helpful and willing to answer questions (thank you Mary), and always a welcome relief to deal with, however this did not happen, even when it was promised it would. This means that whoever happened to open the email (to a generic info@ email address) would reply, resulting in crossed wires, the person not reading back over the email trail to understand what was really going on/being asked, and in some cases, completely wrong information being given, all adding to the stress. The vast majority of the less-than-fully-positive reviews of Ballyseede that I have seen have been related to dealing with the same individuals.


Over the weekend (about half of our guests were booked from Friday to Sunday/Monday), I am happy to report, that the venue, service, food, were all flawless. In the few weeks prior, Ballyseede were even accommodating ? it was extremely refreshing. On the day everything went smoothly, staff regularly checked in with us to make sure all was ok, and most importantly, we were able to have our ceremony outside, which was beautiful, if a bit snug for our 107 guests. The food was exquisite, and our guests since have spoken enthusiastically and often about the venue and food. The new wing, is fabulous inside, so much so that many of our guests thought that they were in the bridal suite, the rooms are so beautiful. The outside has been constructed to physically reflect the original castle, although it could do with some weathering to make it stand out less.


I love Ballyseede, it is beautiful, and the staff are brilliant, and I will surely visit again to stay in the castle that got to be ?ours? for a weekend. However, the stress added to our day with all of the issues raised in the planning stages will forever taint my memories of that time.


For the day I give a massive 5 stars (even the weather cooperated),in fact, if I could I would give it more, however, for the lead up & planning I give much less, so I settle at 4 stars overall. I would recommend to a friend due to the wonderful day we had, but with major caveats.

The service we received in Ballyseede Castle both in the planning of and on the day of our wedding is something We will always be grateful for. The whole planning experience was made so easy by Marnie and Rory, the attention to detail and service on the day of our wedding was superb by all staff,from front of house, waiting staff,bar staff it was exceptional. Our guests were extremely impressed by the venue, the decor and the food. Ballyseede Castle couldn't have done any more for us and it made our wedding day so special. Thank you so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you won't be sorry!

Exceptional wedding venue. Had the most positive experience. We felt so looked after and all our wishes were met without hesitation. Dream wedding venue. I would book it all over again!

We had our wedding at Ballyseede Castle Hotel in October 2017 and really couldn't recommend it highly enough. The venue itself is stunning, and right from the very first meeting with the hotel we were made to feel so welcome by Marnie, Rory and all the staff. In the run up to the wedding day itself, we had a lot of questions which were always answered very quickly, and a lot of special requests which the hotel accommodated without any hesitation. We were also taken great care of during our menu tasting, and even ended up changing part of our menu based on it!

For any prospective couples to note, Ballyseede don't do conventional wedding menu tastings, but instead will bring you in when there is another wedding on that may have a similar menu and serve you that meal in their restaurant. The reason for this is because it will give you a better representation of exactly what the food will be like when produced for up to 200 people, as opposed to a once off single meal preparation. We hadn't heard of this approach before, but it actually makes perfect sense and also gave us great peace of mind of how good the meal would be. Ballyseede is renowned for the quality of its food, and we certainly weren't disappointed with the meal on our wedding day. Along with the music, the meal was the main thing we wanted to make sure was good and we were delighted when a lot of our guests said to us that it was probably the best meal they?d had at any wedding!

There were also so many lovely touches over the course of the wedding day itself that really added to the occasion, from the hotels suggestions of flying our own flags over the castle to the special care they took of the entire wedding party by bringing us into our own private room to freshen up after we arrived. They were also very accommodating for a few special meal requests for some guests and offered so many different options for those with specific dietary requirements. All in all, if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a single thing to do with the hotel. They were so incredibly organised, helpful, friendly and accommodating which meant that everything felt so stress free and easy! The service was absolutely top class and of course the venue itself is beautiful and unique. If any couples are thinking of choosing Ballyseede for their wedding, all we can say is to go for it without hesitation, you won't regret it!

We got married in Ballyseede Castle in September. It is an amazing venue from the beautiful grounds and interior, the stunning orangery for the drinks reception and the fabulous function room to the guest rooms and stunning bridal suite. The food was outstanding and we have received so many fantastic reviews from our guests. Marine, Rory and the team made the whole process very easy and were approachable and available throughout the preparations. The service on the wedding day itself was second to none.. All the staff made us feel like we were the most important couple ever to get married in the castle!!! We cannot recommend Ballyseede highly enough!

An amazing venue and unbelievable staff. My husband and I were given a VIP treatment I couldn't have imagined by all the staff and the owners too. The staff and owners looked after us all day long, and everything ran so smoothly. The guests raved about the food, there was lots to drink at the reception and during the meal. I felt no need to book anything extra for our wedding (eg sweet cart, magician, band for reception etc) as the place alone and the package we got (the middle priced package) offered so much on it's own. Any questions/requests I had beforehand were dealt with by the reception staff who were also brilliant. It was an amazing day thanks to all the staff at Ballyseede Castle! :)

We had our wedding on the 25th August this year and it was absolutely perfect at Ballyseede Castle. A great compliment i can give to them is that it did not matter which staff member you spoke to as they were all as professional as the next, clearly an ethos of the place. We dealt with Mary a lot in our preparations and she was so patient, so helpful to us and really made it stress free for us so we were very grateful. On the day of our wedding Marnie, Rory and Paul greeted us at the door and they delivered a fantastic service to our guests. I have to commend Paul who was our link at the meal and he ensured everything ran seemlessly and our guests were highly impressed with the food and the service that was delivered. The Orangery was a new addition to the Castle from the time we booked and it has really added to the Castle for the drinks reception as it opens out to the gardens so if you have a nice day it is perfect. We would highly recommend Ballyseede Castle based on the feedback from our guests aswell as ourselves which is to say amazing food, top quality service and a unique and special venue to host your wedding reception. The new Orangery for the pre reception is brilliant. The food is exceptional, we had monkfish and lamb and received so many excellent reports from our guests. We were really impressed by the staff in the run up to the wedding, they gave us so many helpful recommendations, really helped us to relax. Also on the day, when we arrived at the hotel, we were brought to a room on our own where Marnie fixed my dress and my husbands suit and asked if we needed anything. They could not have done more!! From start to finish this place was perfect. Marnie, Rory and all the staff were absolutely fantastic. We were looked after so well and the venue was just beautiful. It really is a great venue for any bridal couple. All of our guests are still talking about the food. We had a wonderful wedding day at Ballyseede Castle- our guests loved it and our families were so pleased that everything went so smoothly. We had our drinks reception in the Formal Lounges followed by dinner for 180 in The Coachroom. the tables were decorated with candelabras and beautiful flowers, it was a truly romantic atmosphere. The staff were fantastic and friendly - they were so accommodating in every way. The food beyond excellent, we had opted for the option of free flow wine and champagne and when they said free flow it certainly was. Ballyseede Castle is a fairy tale wedding venue. It was our dream to get married there, and our wedding day was a dream come true. Marnie, Rory, Paul and all the staff could not have been more helpful, accommodating, professional and attentive. Throughout planning, no request was ever too much.
