Midlands Park Hotel

We had the pleasure of having our wedding in the Midlands park hotel last month and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue. Marie was a dream to work with from the first meeting, to flexibility of packages, answering random questions, helping organise outside vendors and everything in between. Nothing was too big/small to ask and their flexibility was a dream. The food on the day was delicious (beef to dream of) and many people commented on how friendly the staff were. Thank you for for all your help and kindness!

Got married here in midlands park hotel,it was genuinely the best experience from start to end from the first moment we met Marie she helped us so much and was always there when I needed,She was truely amazing. The hotel itself was amazing every bit of it and the food was delicious all our guests still talk about how amazing the venue was an beautiful it looked , plus how good the food was and portions 😍 everything was 10/10 I would recommend Marie, the staff the venue and food 100% to everyone. Our experience with the Midlands Park Hotel was second to none. Our wedding on the 30.05.2024 was stress-free with every need, want or whim being catered for by the most professional staff.
We were exceptionally happy with our wedding experience from the start of the planning process with the wonderful Marie Healy, to the day after the wedding. Marie was a breath of fresh air to work with and Katie was so helpful and accommodating as well. George Leahy provided us with such a warm welcome to the hotel with every visit and even recommended a great cocktail spot for us in Killarney on our minimoon!
The ballroom was exceptionally decorated and any instructions left by us for layout, were followed to a tee.
The hotel had recommended a list of vendors and every single one were utterly professional and entertaining. This hotel knows its vendors, so you won't be disappointed.
Our compliments to the Chef. Every guest was blown away by the quality and presentation of our meal, not to mention the responsiveness and quality of service by all members of staff.
The hotel made a special day, magical for us. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and it was truly service with a smile.
We highly recommend the Midlands Park Hotel for quality, service and value for money. In our eyes, it was a 5 star experience and wish to thank everyone involved for making our wedding so memorable.

Once we decided the Midlands Park was our venue and we met with Marie we knew we were in safe hands. All requests were accommodated and the whole day flowed with ease due to the planning put in by the team before hand. Everyone that attended commented on the venues pristine appearance and the food quality.

We got married in Midlands Park in August 23 having only 8 months to plan the wedding we couldn't have chosen a better venue. The decor for the private function area is so elegant and timeless we loved it...we loved that the area was totally private for our guests..the outdoor courtyard is gorgeous but unfortunately weather didn't allow us stay out to long in it. The bridal suite is huge and you feel really pampered in it !! The food is the talk of our wedding it was just unbelievable starters right through to dessert was fabulous and the amount of food provided is just unbelievable we had a few fussy men at wedding and the raved the most about the food. The staff are just second to none...there was an excellent feeling amongst staff and management on the day ..all wait staff so friendly and professional. The lads in the bar at the wedding were just fabulous so lovely and up for the craic with our guests. Marie our wedding planner was just lovely very easy deal.with no issue seemed unfixable and she was an ear to bounce issues off coming up to the wedding and on the day I actually didn't give anything a second thought as I knew we were in safe hands. I hadn't ever intended on a town centre hotel thinking I'd go for more a manor type hotel and I'm so glad we decided on this fabulous hotel...it gave us absolutely everything we wanted...style , elegance, excellent service AMAZING food and most of all just a totally seamless wedding with not even one issue on the day! Our wedding in the Midlands Park Hotel was just magical. I have to say that from the food, decor, staff and atmosphere made the day go seemingly perfect with no hitches. We were looked after so intently by Marie, nothing was too big or too small for her to help us with coming up to the big day. Marie is a credit to the hotel alongside all the other staff who made our day so special! You’re all the best! It will forever be such a special place to us!

My Husband and I had our wedding reception in your hotel on 17th of August 2023.

I am writing this email to bring to your attention the outstanding treatment we received from several members of your staff from beginning to end!

Firstly Marie the wedding coordinator, not only did she provide a fabulous package tailored to our needs for the day but she went above and beyond for my Husband and I to accompany several last minute changes in order to keep certain family members pleased. No question was left unanswered and no task appeared too great. We will forever be grateful to Marie for providing us with the day of our dreams.

Gavin, who accompanied Marie on several occasions had the most beautiful mannerisms and is the warm and welcoming member of staff. He also went above and beyond to accommodate us on several occasions.

We would also like to mention Aoife and Rebecca. Aoife has the most incredible personality that shines through her work. She was responsible for serving us during our meal and everyone at the table complimented what a helpful and pleasant manner she had. She is an invaluable asset to your team. Rebecca also was a huge help as nothing's was too big of an ask, she went out of her way to accomplish many different family members and we were incredibly grateful to the two of them.

Susan that provided us with breakfast served to the bridal sweet and then the following day seated us to a beautiful table at the breakfast area. Susan has the most lovely personality and was hugely helpful in every way, another great asset to your team!

Lastly I would like to thank all the staff at the Midlands Park Hotel, from the chefs to the cleaning staff, everyone who we interacted with was genuinely so pleasant and helpful.

Eamon-John and I got married in the Midlands Park Hotel on the 13th July 2023 (one of the sunnier days of the wettest July). We came upon this amazing hotel by accident while looking up wedding showcases online and booked in for one that was held there. From the moment we saw the hotel and met all the amazing team there , we knew this was the one!
First off, we would like to thank the amazing wedding coordinator Marie who is just an amazing person all round. Her enthusiasm, bubbly personality and attentiveness throughout was amazing. She was always so quick to answer any emails, give advice and just helped greatly during the whole build up to our wedding day. We knew the day was going to be run smoothly with her in charge! We would like to thank all the staff team. They were all amazing from start to finish. They were so friendly and could not do enough for us or our guests. The food was phenomenal , all our family and friends are still talking about it a week later (along with a few chefs in the mix). The portion sizes were very generous and the staff made sure everyone had enough of everything. The drinks reception and ballroom were decorated lovely on the day! The outdoor area was an added bonus which made for lovely pictures under the arch! The rooms were next level! Very modern , clean and spacious. The jacuzzi with the TV was an added bonus in the honeymoon suite! The whole day was just perfect- everything we ever dreamed of and more! This hotel deserves more than 5 stars and its all down to the amazing staff! We cannot thank you all enough for the best day and we looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

We got married in The Midlands Park Hotel in July this year and had a BBQ the following day and what else can we say? Our wedding experience was AMAZING and worth every single penny!
Every single member of staff in the hotel was fantastic and couldn't do enough for you.

Marie the wedding planner is a lovely person to deal with and is second to none for wedding planning! Marie had every detail under control and couldn't do enough for us both leading up to the wedding and also on the day. It is clear that wedding planning is Marie's passion!

Gavin the Banquet Manager was super and really looked after us on our tasting evening and did everything to assist us in choosing our wedding menu and took care of any requests we had.

The Chef has a fantastic team in the kitchen and both days he came out to us in person to see if we were happy with everything. The food was top class and we couldn't have asked for better!
The BBQ the next day was lovely out on the terrace, again the food was A1 and it was nice way to continue the celebrations in a more relaxed manner and was very reasonably priced.

We were over the moon with the luxurious Honeymoon Suite, we have never ever stayed in a room so fantastic! We didn't want to leave and it really makes your stay in the hotel special.

All of our guests commented on how amazing the wedding menu was and that they really had 5 star treatment whilst in the Hotel. Lots of people said it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

Our only complaint is that our wedding weekend went too fast!

We really did choose the perfect location for our wedding, so thank you to all the staff who made it such a memorable experience for us.

We both had a wonderful day, throughout the whole process the team where great to deal with, it was clear on the day we were in good hands everything went seamless, we would personally like to thank Marie, Gavin and Aidan who were amazing on the day. The guests loved the hotel and the outdoor terrace was a huge hit on the day.

Staff were so helpful nothing was a problem ,food was amazing and plenty of it .I opted for the gin bar instead of favours which went down a treat ,the garden area was lovely as we had a sunny afternoon .we stayed the 3 nights breakfast was lovely .a lovely bar area for a casual drink or coffee ,bedroom suite very comfortable .great location .

Marie, Firstly a big thank you for all your hard work and dedication throughout the planning of my wedding which was made very special within the Midlands Park hotel ! From the atmosphere and setting it really makes the day so calming, enjoyable and romantic all in one ! The staff are amazing and so friendly throughout the hotel. The food was something else I couldn't believe it , I had some people go back for thirds even though they were full because they said it was so good they couldn't stop , I also had three vegans who said it was the best meal they had ever gotten. The lovely terrace placed just out side of the ball room is just beautiful I would recommend many photos out there for other couples ! I cannot recommend the hotel enough from start to finish I couldn't fault anything. You and your team went above and beyond to make my day and I am forever grateful.

We recently had our wedding at the Midlands Park Hotel, what a fantastic venue we had an amazing day, all our guests are raving about the staff, food and the way they were looked after. From Marie the wedding co ordinator who was always on hand to take a call with any queries was a true professional who went above and beyond to make our day totally stressfree. From when we booked for December 2020 to finally getting our fairytale wedding day onJuly 23rd 2022 The Midlands Park Staff were just incredible. This hotel was the only hotel we looked at as a possible venue. We just knew it was everything we wanted. Marie went above and beyond for us. Everything I asked for and hoped for I got with no problems along the way. On the day everything was just perfect. I wanted to add alot of my own touches and the staff accommodated everything I asked for. The meal was fantastic and all guest were so happy with it. We also had our day two celebrations in the hotel which the staff set the room up just as we had it for our wedding day which was such a lovely touch. What an amazing hotel. From the moment we went to the hotel to book our wedding we were treated impeccably. The staff are friendly and ever so helpful.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we experienced nothing but the best at the Midlands Park Hotel. From the preparations for our ceremony to the professionalism with which our reception was handled, we never had to worry about a thing. The three days we were resident at the hotel, we were treated like Royalty!! We came to know so many of the staff purely through their efforts and the friendliness they showed us. We had out very Special Wedding Day on 14th May 2022 in Rosenallis and then onto the Midlands Park Hotel for our Wedding Reception. From the moment we booked our Wedding here we instantly felt that this was our dream hotel. George helped us figure out everything and was so helpful. Marie was our wedding coordinator and we have to say she was an absolute dream to work with. we were so relaxed and at ease with Marie she looked after everything for us. we had a few meetings with her to go though everything for our Wedding day and she made us feel so chill and relaxed about everything. We were in contact with Sandra also via emails who was super helpful to us and really made us feel everything would be perfect and to stop stressing and worrying over things. Anna who was looking after us for our taster and our wedding menu was so so lovely, she was so helpful and any changes we made she wrote them down straight way and then went through everything with us again. she was just such a lovely helpful person. I have an allergy to eggs and was worried about this but she went above and beyond to ensure i was happy and looked after. we had alot of people with allergies and other special requirements and between Anna and Marie they could not have done more for everyone they were both superb.
On our wedding day we arrived in our wedding car and was met by Marie, George and Anna outside with champagne and strawberries and a big hug and smiles. The three of them are just so lovely. Our colour theme was yellow and they even had little yellow bows on their uniforms for us that was so special and we noticed straight away. its these little things that made our day so magical. We then went into the hotel and met everyone and then Marie showed us our ballroom to make sure everything was perfect for us and it was so much more than perfect we were amazed. it could not have been anymore perfect the details the hotel went to were spectacular. When we sat down we had our meal which was absolutely delicious the most amazing and tasty food we ever had. Anna looked after our top table with drinks etc so we didn't have to do anything which was so lovely. they couldn't have been more helpful. The whole day was so magical and so much more than we had ever dreamed of. We would highly recommend the Midlands park Hotel to any couple trying to decide on where to have their wedding. It was just above and beyond and we couldn't have had a more special and amazing day. George, Marie, Anna, Sandra and all the staff at the midlands park hotel were so so helpful, so reassuring and made our day for us so relaxed and so so enjoyable. I tended to worry over things but Marie ensured everything would be looked after and it most defiantly was. Advice i would give to future couples is this hotel is state of the Art, The staff are absolutely amazing, the food was delicious, the rooms were so clean and lovely and dont stress the small things you are in such great hands. We couldn't have picked a more amazing hotel it was out of this world. we had the most magical, special day and the staff here went absolutely above and beyond for us and we are so thankful. The service and the food on the day of the wedding was flawless. One of my biggest fears was that people would be queueing for a drink and there would be tables full of empty glasses but on the day the staff were on top of all of this which did not go unnoticed.
We are still having people talking about the meal everyone really enjoyed every part of it, especially the beef so I would like to thank Anna for getting us to try it and changing Adrian's mind. We have since had quite a few people going over there to get dinner because the food at the wedding was so good.
The one thing that I will say we were really disappointed with was the fact our guests had no canapés on arrival. It was only when we got there and asked that the food was brought out. It seemed like our guests were only getting the canapés and a few minutes later they were being called for dinner. I do feel this was disappointing as it was one thing I had stated as I did not want our guests to be hungry and I had stressed this in many meetings.
That said, we did go on to have an amazing day the staff were very helpful and with the exception of the canapés everything else went very smoothly.

We couldn't recommend the Midlands Park and Marie and the team enough! My husband Darrell and I got married in May 2022 having postponed from 2021 due to the pandemic so we wanted everything to be perfect and it absolutely was! The food was gorgeous and we received so many compliments on it! The room itself is stunning and Marie and the team ensured all my decorations and bits were set up perfectly! The whole experience was brilliant and Marie was always only an email or phone call away and always got back to us straight away! We had the absolute best day and have no hesitation in recommending the Midlands Park to any couple considering it as their wedding venue in the future! Thanks everyone!

On the day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly, the ceremony room and reception was decorated beautifully by the hotel and the food was amazing!! The service we received was top quality. I could not praise the hotel staff high enough, they provided the highest level of service and were so helpful and inviting to everyone who attended. The bar man we had for the night Alan, even went as far as entertaining my nephew with some colouring books at the evening reception, which made his night. Everyone in the hotel just went out of their way for us and made our day so special and I am so grateful to all of them. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to any couple considering their wedding venue in the future - everything was absolutely perfect and the service you receive is exceptional.

On the day itself everything went exactly to plan, food was amazing and plentiful, drinks reception was beautiful and all staff were very attentive and polite - the best day !!
We spent day two in the hotel also. We chose the barbecue menu and again everything was impeccable. Everything was done for us , literally all we had to do was turn up !! Thank you for all your help in making our special day unforgettable.

We got married this year in March , we dealt with Marie the wedding Coordinator she was so easy to chat to , she helped us make some of final decisions for our big day so much easier, couldn't say nicer things about her so nice , easy to chat to and always at the end of the phone.

As a couple faced with booking a venue online during lockdown, the team at the Midlands Park were so helpful and understanding about our predicament. No other hotel we contacted were as accommodating considering the circumstances we found ourselves in.

When we finally got to visit the venue and got the grand tour with George, we knew we had chosen correctly.

Marie guided us smoothly through the whole wedding planning stage. She made it effortless for us both, to the point that we had ourselves almost convinced we had forgotten lots of things! She was always at the end of a line if we needed her and gave her honest opinion on the questions, we had for her. And as an added extra, she's a great sense of humour and we had a laugh along the way!

Our wedding tasting meal was fantastic. We were given undivided attention from Ana for the whole experience. We really appreciated the fact that she questioned our choices and made us bear in mind our guests as well as ourselves. The chef also saw our choice of beef but insisted we tried the feather blade, which we went for on the day. People are still talking about it, especially those who got offered an extra portion! On the day the food was to the same high standard and plentiful.

The venue and day itself were stunning. From the moment we arrived, we were met by Marie and George with glasses of prosecco and brought to the area exclusively for our wedding. The layout of our music, the prosecco and beer reception and the canapes being brought around were fabulous. The staff were more than attentive to us both ensuring we had a drink and canape in hand if we wished. The timings and coordination of everything on the day were impeccable. Right up until the time early the next morning when we retired to the amazing honeymoon suite, full of crisp sambos!

Neither of us have been married before, so obviously we have nothing to compare our day to! But we honestly could not have asked for a more perfect day, thanks to the Midlands Park Hotel and all our friends and family who got to enjoy it with us and make it a day like no other, a day we will never forget.

Marie and all of her team were outstanding, from the very first encounter with her, she was full of positivity and enthusiasm which was so comforting. From the very start everything in the planning was made so easy and we really didn't think about the reception side of this too much during the wedding planning as we felt it was being completely taken care of and we were right to think so. Everything about the day was perfect and the staff couldn't do enough for us or our guests. We ended up staying the night after the wedding as well and again the staff went above and beyond. The food was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, including dinner, late night finger food and breakfast. We ate in the Charter Bar the following day too and it was also outstanding. We had the most amazing celebration of our lives, it was fantastic!

We had our wedding at the midlands park hotel last week and I cannot begin to say how happy we did! Sandra, Marie and Anna made our dreams come true! They were with us every step of the way and fulfilled every promise they made to us on the day. Marie was fantastic all the way through and right before I left the room to go down to our civil ceremony. I cannot thank these ladies enough they are an amazing team, as are the rest of the hotel staff! Reception, bar waiting staff and accomadation! We literally wanted for nothing. We had our wedding in the Midlands Park Hotel.
We can not thank Joanne, Anna and all the Staff enough for the 5 star service we received. They went over and beyond for us. Nothing we asked was a problem and they were so good too our children and helped in anyway they could. Our wedding was during lockdown at Christmas and the hotel still provided us with our special day which we cant thanks them enough for.
The bar staff were great , service was excellent.

I cant even begin to express how amazing the midlands park hotel were in making our wedding day just absolutely perfect! Our wedding was slap bang in the middle of covid and all these restrictions and yet the day felt just as we imagined it would! The staff couldn't do enough for you, a big part of what makes the midlands park hotel so special! The food... was to die for! I never even heard of feather-blade steak and now I am telling everyone that they need to try it!! The decorations were fab, all the Christmas decorations were up and it just made it so beautiful. We have our wedding booked for midland park hotel for 12th sept 2020 and the wedding coordinator was amazing briona she was so helpful and we are over the moon to be having out special day in your hotel.

We had to rearrange our wedding from May to September, all staff members went out of they're way to make the change as smoothly as possible, everything on the day was perfect and even though we were in the middle of a pandemic our day just felt completely normal, wouldn't have changed a thing

From the very first meeting through to the wedding day itself the hotel staff were absolutely amazing. We were treated like royalty and our entire family were looked after exceptionally. It was very stressful having to reorganise things 48 hours before the wedding due to the Coronavirus but the hotel staff made it as easy as possible. Wow, where do I start! We had our wedding in the Midlands Park Hotel on the 20th of September 2019. From the day we walked through the doors to view the hotel and pay deposit, to the morning we left after our wedding, we were blown away by the kindness and professionalism given to us by all the staff at the Midlands Park hotel. Briona, George & Ana are the dream team! From our many chats and emails with Briona in the lead up to the big day to the day itself I couldnt have expected anything to be done any more perfectly. Briona is amazing at what she does and we always knew we were well looked after in the best hands. Our family and friends all commented on how amazing the hotel was not just its appearance, which is simply beautiful, but the way the day just ran so seamlessly. The food is still being spoken about amongst our guests 4months since the wedding. The featherblade steak being the favourite of the day. I dont think anyone has had a meat like it before, nor will they since it! Anyone who ordered the feather blade steak got to have seconds of roast turkey and ham and vice versa for those who chose the turkey. Many had seconds and thirds. And Ana was on hand to help any of our guests who had special requirements and to ensure that everybody had a full belly for working off on the dancefloor afterwards! And as for George, he is an absolute gentleman! Ensured we weren't stressed or worried on the day and gave us many a laugh during our few trips to the hotel during the planning and prep and he had smiles on our faces throughout the whole day. We hadn't to worry about a thing from start to finish! We had excellent service from the hotel throughout the wedding planning stage of about 12 months. The staff are amazing, all so friendly and helpful. The wedding meal was fantastic and all our guests thought so too. We had the best day and the wedding events staff did not miss any detail. Even helped get the matron of honor dress to a local seamstress and back again with a last minute busted zip one hour before the ceremony. I never complete reviews but felt I had to in this instance. I traveled to Ireland to marry my Irish husband and so glad I did. Wonderful staff that deserve praise and recognition for all their hard work.

We had our wedding (Ceremony and Reception) in the Midlands Park Hotel in July 2017.

The help and guidance the wedding co-coordinator, Yvonne, gave us in the months before the wedding was invaluable. She was a pleasure to work with and we really felt that nothing we asked was ever too much.

All our guests really enjoyed the whole experience and hotel, everyone commented on how great the hotel looked, how delicious the food was and how Anna kept everything running so smoothly on the night.

The whole hotel is really beautiful, especially the bridal suite which is amazing. All the staff were really helpful and very friendly.

Our wedding at the Heritage Portlaoise was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were very prompt and professional on the day. The food was absolutely top notch and many of our guests were still complimenting the ballroom, the food and the service for many weeks after our wedding. The newly renovated ballroom was a beautiful setting for what was a very special day for us.

Friday November 7th. To say we were treated like royalty is an understatement. Every
single staff member from the Thursday until the Saturday went out of their way to
accommodate us; a few to mention are of course Carol Dempsey, Duty Managers Aidan
and Doug. We cannot thank you all enough for a truly amazing day, everything from
food to service was 5* thank you so much.

My fianc?e and I visited the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel a year before we planned to
get married. It wasn't a big wedding by any means, but our wedding coordinator
explained that they only did one wedding per day so that they could concentrate
purely on that one wedding. Our wedding coordinator Carol couldn't have been
more helpful and often gave us valuable advice.
So the big day arrived, I got ready in the hotel and the duty manager on the day
was so kind. The banqueting room where our wedding reception was to be held
looked fantastic with large candles, mirror centre pieces and flowers. The food was
excellent and the service was exceptional. The evening reception went off without a
hitch and once more the food that evening was brilliant with plenty to go around.
Everybody commented on how good the food was.
The Bridal suite is so pretty and spacious and the breakfast the next day was far
more than I expected. It even included a bottle of champagne and strawberries.
From start to finish the Hotel were helpful and considerate to all our needs. I would
highly recommend booking the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel for your special day.

We would recommend anyone thinking about choosing a wedding venue to view
the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel first. The whole experience was second to none, we
had absolutely nothing to worry about anything going wrong on the day, it went
absolutely fantastic.

The staff and management couldn't have done any more for us. They were so
welcoming and still to this day our guests rave about the beautiful meal that was

We both had found our soul mate and the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel just topped it
all off by giving us the best reception any bride and groom could only dream of. To
this day guests from our wedding are still raving about the food they received, the
reception room set up and the accommodation (of course the price was perfect for
our entire guests!).

But unfortunately into the early hours of the morning I took ill (I was not drinking
because I wanted to make the most of my magical day), I took a turn for the worst.
The hotel staff were so thoughtful and helpful to a bride in distress and came
running to help. Turns out I had a stroke (from which I have made a full recovery),
but it didn't ruin my day.

When I look back I don't think of the day I had a stroke but I look at it and think it
