Mountain View is a unique wedding venue; an eclectic mix of old, bold and modern design features coupled with complete rustic charm. A magical property to make your own and spread over 120 acres of private Kilkenny countryside, Mountain View is owned and managed by the O'Neill family, who have years of experience of hosting weddings, parties and restaurant-goers - they welcome you into their family, and you never leave!

The Greenhouse is a stunning space to host weddings of up to 60 people. A stylish bar and restaurant, designed with impeccable taste and attention to detail, this is the place to party! It also has a separate, covered and heated outdoor terrace. The Grand Marquee, is truly grand, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking some of the best Irish countryside, and opening onto its own terrace, it is perfect for those bigger celebrations of up to 210 people. The Cowshed - Earthy. Boho. Honest. This space is undeniably unique and fun, and perfect for celebrations of up to 220 people.
If you wish to get married onsite we have two beautiful ceremony spaces. Our outdoor Pergola is nestled amongst the trees with stunning views. The Cowshed offers you a unique and fun space to host your ceremony with a gorgeous backdrop of the Irish countryside. It has been said that Mountain View is one of the most stylish wedding venues around and we think you'll agree! We have poured our hearts and souls into creating a beautiful place for your wedding. We honestly cannot put into words how amazing our experience at Mountain View was. From start to finish it was everything we could have hoped for and more.
We visited Mountain View first and honestly, we didn't even view anywhere else. We booked it straight away. We just knew it was the place we wanted to get married.
We then worked with Sharon who was absolutely brilliant. She was always available whenever we had a question, no matter how big or small and accommodated everything we asked for. The whole planning process was so chill and enjoyable. We wanted an easy life when it came to wedding planning and Mountain View genuinely delivered on that.
With everything onsite, there was so little for us to worry about which made such a difference.
I met Bee the day before the wedding and she was so lovely and welcoming. She was there helping us set up and making sure everything was taken care of. She has such a calm and reassuring presence and she actually helped settle my nerves the day before. I remember leaving that day feeling so much more relaxed and just knowing that everything was going to be perfect.
On the wedding day itself, Bee and Sam were incredible. From the second we arrived they were there to help, making sure we didn't have to worry or stress about a single thing. They made us feel so special and so looked after. I genuinely wish I could have spent more days with them!
I only briefly met Ger, but he actually came out to have a chat with me during the day, asked how I was, how everything was going and how I was enjoying the food. It was such a small thing but it was a really lovely moment and something I genuinely appreciated. The food itself was next level, we had compliment after compliment from our guests and even our vegan and vegetarian guests said their food was some of the best they'd ever had.
The venue itself is just beautiful. The Cow Shed was the perfect place for our ceremony, the marquee was amazing for dinner and dancing and the glamping village is such a gorgeous and unique addition. Everything about Mountain View has such a special feel to it.
All of the staff on the day were fantastic and honestly there isn't much we would change. It was such a relaxed, happy and genuinely enjoyable experience.

From the moment we arrived at Mountain View for our first show-around, we were completely blown away. Driving up the beautiful tree-lined avenue and taking in the stunning Ballyhale countryside, we immediately had a great feeling about the venue. That feeling was only reinforced when we met Sharon, whose warmth and enthusiasm made us feel instantly at home.
From the Greenhouse Restaurant to the Cowshed, we fell in love with every part of the venue. We also loved the glamping aspect, as we are keen campers ourselves, and it felt like such a unique addition. After our visit, we knew Mountain View was the perfect place for us to celebrate our wedding.
The entire planning process was seamless. Sharon and the team were always quick to respond, happy to answer questions, and made everything feel effortless from start to finish.
When the day arrived, the venue was a wonderland, beautifully decorated by Michelle Mulhall, our guests were incredibly well looked after, and the food was outstanding. We opted for the buffet-style menu and loved the relaxed atmosphere it created. So many guests commented on how delicious everything was, especially the beef, so huge compliments to Chef Ger and the kitchen team.
The markets the following day were also a lovely way to relax afterwards and catch up with everyone who attended.
Most of all, we cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness, professionalism, and care throughout the day. A special mention to Bea, Sam, Sharon and Michelle, who went above and beyond to make our wedding a truly unforgettable occasion.

We had the most amazing wedding day with Mountain View. All communication from our very first visit was absolutely seamless. From answering silly questions of mine to going above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of on the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team for our wedding day.

My husband and myself had the best day ever. We are still flying so high! From the moment we arrived in Mountain View everything was so relaxed and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every whim. They made our 2 little dogs Basil and Bobby (who are so important to us) so welcome at every moment of the day. Dom did a stunning job in setting up the outdoor ceremony for the last minute beautiful February sun. The co-ordinate and staff on the day were so considerate and kind, including driving ppl home who couldn't get taxis and bringing out cake for my nephews 4th birthday. The staff also took incredible pictures and videos that they immediately shared with me the next day, who needs a social media reel highlight when Mountain view does it for you! Now onto the food, excuse my French when I say, holy shit it was incredible. We knew it was a big ask to do a completely vegan wedding, but not only did the chef not even hesitate at the challenge, but I'd say it was probably some of the best vegan food we've ever had, and the moment the canapes came out until to the late fayre we had guests coming up to us all evening raving about the food. I think the chef may have actually converted some people to plant based. The icing on the cake was the stunning breakfast he prepared for us Sunday morning before our departure. My husband and I literally had the best day ever, and would genuinely not change a thing. Our only sadness (and our families said the same) is that we don't live closer to Mountain View so we can visit for brunch every Sunday.

"From the moment we arrived at Mountain View for our initial meeting, we knew it was the place for us! The beautiful, tree-lined entry and breathtaking views across the hills of Ballyhale instantly had us thinking of all the amazing photo options. We were greeted by the fabulous, Bee - the straight-talking, hardworking, charismatic owner of Mountain View. Lovely Sharon then took over our show around and could not have been more helpful or open to our wedding ideas. We secured the date there and then!
As the months/weeks went on Sharon was always so responsive and helpful, signposting us to recommended vendors and meeting with us via zoom to work out details. From these recommendations, we hired the amazingly talented Michelle of Gypsy Rose Wildflower and Eliza from Mano Bespoke Weddings, with her keen eye for detail and and beautiful finishing touches! Both vendors work onsite which made it so much easier for us when planning the day. We dropped into Showcases at the venue to get an idea of what we wanted in styling and were always greeted with smiles and hugs and genuine excitement for our big day!
As with every wedding, so much time and planning goes into it which meant stress levels were high! However, on meeting the team a few days before, the stress melted away! Bee, Eliza and Ross greeted us and went through every detail with us, reassuring us they had it all in hand. We left absolutely buzzing for the wedding day!
On the day, Bee was our main woman! Our wedding coordinator, if you like. Her and her amazing team had everything organized seamlessly and the day ran like clockwork. The venue looked absolutely STUNNING thanks to the phenomenal duo that are Michelle and Eliza! It was everything we wanted, and more!! From the draped fabric and candles to the stunning flower boxes and bouquets, they met the brief and then some!! We're still looking back at pictures, taking in the details we missed on the day with the adrenaline of it all!
From start to finish, the day was perfect! The food, the drinks, the decor, the staff, the yurts, the brekkie - everything was spot on! So much hard work went into delivering the day and everyone had an amazing time. We cannot thank Bee, Sharon, Michelle, Eliza, Ross and all the team at Mountain View enough! Guys, you helped make one of the best days of our lives so special and we'll be forever grateful to you for it. Thank you!

I could honestly write a whole book about how perfect this destination was for our wedding. We had our civil ceremony and drinks reception in The Cow Shed, followed by our wedding reception in the Marquee, both were just magical.
One of the most unique things about this venue is that when you book your wedding here, you get exclusive access to the entire grounds. That’s incredibly rare and made everything feel so special and personal.
The attention to detail in every aspect of the décor, the amazing food (our guests are still raving about the meal months later!), the delicious cocktails (YUM), and most of all....The Staff. They are truly in a league of their own. You can see their passion and genuine care in everything they do. They go above and beyond to make sure your day is everything you dreamed of and more and for us, it absolutely was!!!
(I'm already dreaming up an excuse to book here again for another celebration!!😊)

Honestly i knew from the moment we booked the venue how amazing the team were here . They couldnt so enough for us on the lead up to our big day . They were so helpful and nothing was an issue . I look forward to going back every chance we get . Not to mention how beautiful the venue is . It rained all evening on our day but the interior didnt disappoint the team made it so special for us . The food was the thing everyone commented on the most . Things that food dreams are made of . loved every single thing on our menu the guests still rave about it now . The chief made a special dairy free menu just for me because im lactose intolerant . It was insane loved every bite . Wish we could do it all again . Thank you so much to the whole team id highly reccomend mountain view for anyone looking for something different on their special day????

Originally from Ireland & UK but living in Australia we took a punt on Mountain View after speaking with Sharon and hearing the story of how Mountain View came into existence as a venue. Organising a wedding from the other side of the world is hard enough and when you added covid lockdowns it made it even more difficult but the Mountain View team really came to the fore to make sure that we knew everything we needed to know and felt comfortable that we'd have the perfect venue for our big day and that's exactly what it was.....perfect.
On the day the staff couldn't have been more amazing, sorting all the finer details, and just making everything run smoothly but what you come for is the view and the pictures just don't do it justice. Then when you put on top the atmosphere, the food (without doubt the best wedding food I've had), and the venues quirks it really was the perfect place for us.
I'd recommend viewing this venue to anyone getting married in Ireland as I believe it will blow anyone away!

The venue is beautiful and we were able to get some breathtaking photos over looking Kilkenny. The food was absolutely outstanding and could not be faulted in the slightest. Miriam was brilliant and truly helped wherever she could to make the day memorable for us. The few let downs we had were, the children never got to feed the alpacas on the day and we were unable to use the golf cart (both had been prearranged) There was also confusion on the timings as the 2 people we had been in contact with in the lead up to the day were not present on the wedding day. We had to keep correcting the other lady present on the timings and this left us (and our photographer and videographer) feel a little rushed. The marquee is beautiful but did get quiet cold during the meal even with the heating on. We didn't stay on site so cannot comment on the glamping but having looked in them, they do look fabulous. Overall a fabulous venue that I can see being incredible if a few tweaks are made.

We cannot recommend Mountain View enough, our guests were wowed with the Venue, Food and atmosphere. The attention on the day from the wedding co coordinator was so personal and relaxed and we were able to be ourselves and enjoy the day with our guests with no worries.
We were looking for something different for our Wedding and Mountain View was perfect for us and we didnt have to do anything apart from show up and enjoy our day , Well Done to the team involved

delighted to be the first guests to stay in the honeymoon suite on site, and had a wonderful
evening sleeping under the stars!

us. When the big day finally arrived, we were in absolute awe of the beauty of the greenhouse
decorations, the sunset over the hills after dinner, and the impeccable food. We cannot count
how many guests are still raving about how incredible the wedding food was. We were also
delighted to be the first guests to stay in the honeymoon suite on site, and had a wonderful
evening sleeping under the stars!

initial call with Sharon to arrange a viewing of the venue I knew we had chosen the right place.
Sharon was so helpful, kind, and accommodating throughout the whole planning stages.
On the day itself, Bea, Miriam, James, and all the staff were incredible, making sure the whole
day went smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I can't thank them enough for
making the day so special.

I cannot say enough good things about Mountain View ! Me and my husband live in New York and planning a wedding in a different country can be a real challenge on top of throwing in a global pandemic ! Sharon helped us every step of the way and made planning so easy and stress free! They also helped us with getting in touch with vendors since we were overseas and everyone they suggested to us turned out amazing. All of our friends and family still talk about how much fun they had and how beautiful the venue was. the view was the perfect scenery of Ireland for all our New York friends. The foods was great and everyone still talks about the brownie for desert ! We loved how it was so exclusive so we could enjoy the day with our closest friends and family! Everyone was so helpful throughout the whole planning process and amazing the day of the wedding. If you are looking for a beautiful exclusive venue with great food and great staff look no further! I'm so thankful to everyone at Mountain View for helping make our long awaited day amazing !

Amazing venue! In the small village of Ballyhale between Kilkenny and Waterford, set high enough to enjoy the lovely landscape views, full use of the outside covered large pergola where we had our ceremony, the beautiful bar area (green room) for our drinks reception and the amazing marquee for our meal and dancing into the night. staff had everything covered, very pleasant and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I couldn't rate this venue high enough????????

Where do I begin......from the moment we visited mountain view we were in awe. It can only be summoned up as amazing. The first day we made contact with mountain view to enquire about weddings we were greeted with the most helpful lady, Sharon. As planning a wedding was all very new and a learning curve for us. Sharon helped in every way possible by answering all our queries, providing all the needed information and gave us so many options and ideas from the get go. It was the best decision we made to book our wedding at mountain view as the responsiveness from Sharon was second to none. She made everything so easy for us and no request was too much, very accommodating. Leading up to the wedding we met with Bee and James also and all we can say is they are so genuine and gifted in what they do. They made the day special for us in very way possible and the same goes for all the staff in mountain view. The day itself was absolutely fantastic from the decor, to the natural view, the attention to every single detail and the quality of the food and drink was truly superb. We and the guests had the best day up right through to the night.it was the wedding we always dreamed of and more. So we can safely say we 100% recommend mountain view. What an amazing place with fantastic people and what an amazing day we had. Thanks to everyone at mountain view for everything. If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

Sharon guided us every step of the way in organising our wedding. She was always so amazing and friendly to deal with and worked so hard to make sure our wedding day was just how we wanted it to be.

We could not recommend Mountain View more highly! We had the most amazing day and that was all down to the O'Neill family. From our first interactions with Bea and Michael right through all the planning with Sharon the wedding planner, everyone could not have been more helpful. The venue itself is simply stunning, and Beas attention to detail resulted in the venue looking like a winter wonderland on the night, creating the most beautiful atmosphere. The food by Marie Rafferty was exquisite, we never had so many guests complimenting the food. On the wedding day itself Bea, Michael, and all the team were simply outstanding and could not have been more helpful. This stunning venue, with exquisite food combined with the warmth of the O'Neill family makes for the most unforgettable 5 star wedding experience.

We simply cannot say enough about Mountain View and the entire team. Our Wedding day was incredible, the food, the atmosphere, the views, all out of this world. It's a truly unique venue nestled away in the woods with breathtaking views of the countryside. The Wedding Room is stunning, just pure class and sophistication. 10/10 from us thank you to everybody Bee, Michael, Marie, Sophie and all the staff who made our special day so magical. We'll never forget it.

We wanted a location that could hold at least 240 people but had an emphasis on the outdoors. We found a lot of locations held the wedding in a ballroom without windows, but we specifically wanted a summer wedding where we could enjoy a view of the outdoors. We fell in love with the landscape and the marquee as soon as we saw it. The wedding team at Mountain View were excellent and helped us through every stage of the preparations for our big day. It is such a beautiful and perfect setting, and has a very personal service. The food is outstanding; we found our menu tasting very difficult as everything was delicious and so beautifully presented!
It was great as we could take our wedding photos on the golf course with spectacular views of the countryside and a beautiful backdrop of the lake. We really felt we got to spend so much time with our guests. The marquee is a perfect size for all guests to be comfortable. We had such a fantastic day in June and we treasure our memories from our wedding day!

Staff and management were excellent from the word go. We felt that our experience really mattered to them personally and no request was too big or too small to try to accommodate. We were looked after with care on the day and the venue looked amazing.

There is a real sense of family and pride amongst the team at Mountain View, and that’s something we really valued. We genuinely felt that everyone was invested in us and our big day, which was so special. Communication with Sharon was superb in the run-up to the wedding. She was always warm, full of humour and exceptionally helpful.
On the day of our wedding, Bea, Sam, James and the whole team were so supportive, calm and reassuring. Our guests even commented on how lovely everyone was, including the waiting and bar staff. Michelle, our florist, who is also part of the team, had the place looking absolutely beautiful …. she’s magical! Our flowers were incredible.
After the meal, everyone was raving about the food. The beef was getting 20/10 reviews! I don’t know how Chef Ger and his team pulled it off on such a hot day. Just delicious!
I genuinely wouldn’t look any further. The venue is stunning and so classy, with every detail thought about. It can be festival chic or rustic romantic…. but most importantly, you won’t have to worry about a thing. Sam will literally be reading your mind and will always be one step ahead of you.
Oh, and an added bonus… our little doggie got to come and enjoy the big day too! 🐶
We honestly couldn’t recommend Mountain View, and the whole team, highly enough. They helped make our wedding day everything we could have hoped for and more.
