Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links

We had our wedding at Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links in early October. It was an amazing experience. The venue was elegant and set indoor, with a beach directly outside. The ceremony was held at the hotel as well as the dinner and reception, which lasted well into the night. On Day Two, an excellent barbecue was prepared for the guests that were still there. The entire staff, including Holly, at the front desk, David, at the bar, and Connor, the wedding coordinator, were outstanding. Connor, in particular made sure we were well looked after the entire time, and was extremely helpful in coordinating the entire process. On top of that, the weather happened to be outstanding that day. I’d highly recommend Portmarnock Hotel for a hotel stay and as an ideal wedding venue.

We were absolutely delighted with our wedding at Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links. They have beautiful outdoor spaces which we were lucky enough to be able to utilize for both our ceremony and drinks reception. Despite some turnover with the wedding coordinators the team made sure everything ran smoothly on the day. The F&B managers on the day were fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure our guests had a great time and did so with good humour, politeness and efficiency. The food was excellent, we received many compliments from our guests. The accommodation is also great, with many rooms having beautiful sea views. This was very much appreciate by our many overseas guests. I would not hesitate to recommend it as a venue to other couples.

Food was excellent however the level of service provided was very poor on the day. The got the music wrong at the reception between 3-5 and it took 15 mins before this was rectified. They also played the wrong music for the bridal party entrance. The top table was incorrectly set for 12 rather then 14 which delayed the bride and grooms entrance. Not every table got their full menu including starters or wine. They ran out of potatoes and vegetables which meant two tables of 10 guests didn’t get any vegetables or potatoes. The bar ran out of gin and vodka at 1:25am. So all in all the level of service wasn’t to the standard that was proposed in the hotels original wedding package offering

Really impressed with the team in portmarnock. The venue was really fab, the room looked amazing. I hired in chiavari chairs myself and I think the hotel should defo consider getting them as they are much more modern. The food was beautiful, David the manager was so lovely to deal with, and Karen and Ashley. Bridal suite was out of this world. Photo ops on the beach beautiful. Only cons were : not having chiavari chairs - charging extra for lit up dancefloor ,drapes behind top table (both of which were in place at wedding fair leading us to believe were part of the package) -overnight rates for wedding guests quite high, considering not a city centre/5 star hotel Overall though all hotels have cons, and these didnt take from our very good experience in portmarnock

We had our wedding at the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf links on Saturday, 5th March. We were incredibly happy with the day itself and cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at the hotel, our wedding co ordinator Karen the beautiful surroundings, fabulous food and excellent accommodations. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic day. We would highly reccomend the hotel to any future bride and grooms.

Ludmila and Reese went above and beyond and couldn't fault anything on the day.. Room and food was amazing.. staff were so attentive until the very end.. highly recommend the golf links.

Hi, Just a quick email to say what a wonderful time my fiancé and I had during our stay at the Portmarnock Hotel and golf links. We won the competition a few weeks back and stayed in the hotel on Friday night just gone. The hotel was amazing and for anyone who is looking for a beautiful hotel for a wedding reception I would definitely recommend that they pay the Portmarnock hotel and golf links a visit. When we decided to go for this venue for our wedding we knew that we are going for a lovely hotel with an amazing landscape, but we didn't really know what to expect in terms of staff. Alison started working with us very close to our wedding date, after our previous wedding coordinator left her position. At first, we were pretty stressed about this change however we realized very quickly that we were in good hands, even better than the previous ones! :) Alison was so professional, replied to every email and phone call, while fulfilling every request we had, which were sometimes different and new for her due to the fact it was an Irish-Israeli wedding and we wanted to combine both traditions. On the day, Alison and Denis did a great job and everything went according to plan, with no hick-ups at all! Food was just amazing, and many guests commented on the fact that everything tasted lovely! Thank you so much Alison!You, Denis and the rest of the staff made our day truly special!

Alison we would like to thank you and the team from the bottom of our hearts for every thing you did for us on our wedding and for all your support and advice before the day even arrived. You answered every email, phone call and silly question without hesitation and always had a kind word to say. From the moment we heard about the “wedding in a box” package we knew it suited us. Every thing was to the highest standard. The food & service on the day was superb and any member of staff that we encountered whether we met them passing through the bar, reception, hallway or main room had a smile and some thing nice to say to not only for myself & Eddie but for all our guests. I want to thank you and all the staff especially Geraldine who was brilliant on the day (20th Aug) everyone was complimenting her to me saying she was great! I couldnt have managed everything without your help, the hotel would be lost without you! All my husbands family (English) said it was the best wedding ever and praised the staff and the hotel as it was the first visit to Ireland and said they will definitely stay in the hotel again on their next visit to Ireland

I firstly want to thank you so so much for everything on Saturday. We had an amazing day and your help in organising it all helped to make it very special. The staff couldn't have been more attentive or friendly and plenty of people commented on it. Both of the rooms looked beautiful. It has been wonderful working with you on all of the planning and we both have enjoyed every minutes of it. I cannot thank you enough for everything. After visiting a few hotels and then meeting yourself, your friendliness, relaxed approach and your willingness to be flexible and attentive to what we wanted put you head and shoulders above the others, and that was aside from the beautiful hotel. We had the perfect wedding day-nothing was too much trouble. The staff were attentive and friendly and a special thanks to Jean Bermingham, who was truly wonderful from the moment we decided to have our wedding reception in Portmarnock. Eddie was also great and couldn’t do enough for us on the big day.The food was delicious and so many of our guests were pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. The location is ideal, the bedrooms spacious and clean and the atmosphere wonderful! Thanks again for everything. I would highly recommend the hotel to any engaged couples out there!

  Our wedding day was held in your hotel on 19.06.10. From the minute we arrived at your hotel it was like a dream. Everything was just perfect, from the staff, flowers, drinks reception, banqueting room, food, cake, bridal suite etc. We were overwhelmed by everything and especially your staff, who were so friendly, helpful and kind. I would like to thank all your staff for making our day so special. In particular i would like to thank Eddie the banqueting manager who was so courteous and told us 'there was nothing to worry about and he was there to look after us', and of course we had nothing to worry about. Eddie was not only our banqueting manager for the day but he was our friend. I would also like to thank Claire on reception. She was so friendly and helpful and had a huge smile for us and the wedding party all through the day and evening. Finally i would like to thank Alison Eivers. Alison is one of the nicest people you could meet and is an asset to your hotel. She was a pleasure to work with and made our day A day to remember.   Thank you so much for everything on our big day, I was delighted you were in on the Saturday yourself, it was great you were there after holding me hand for the few months coming up to it. The drinks reception outside was a genius idea and went down a treat with everyone after the ceremony. Everyone said the food was amazing, and just thought the hotel was fantastic!!

Tobin & Dargan wedding 25th May 2009 Dear Alison, We both wanted to contact you to pass on our genuine and sincere thanks to you for your constant hard-work, advice, good humour and patience with us over the 7 months of our wedding planning. What can we say; it was better than we dared to hope! The whole venue made all of our guests, most of whom were staying in the hotel for 2 nights, feel like they were on a wonderful mini beach holiday! They all raved about their rooms and I can honestly say there wasn't a single complaint from anyone on any level. The quality of the entire experience,from the day of the wedding fair, from how kind you were to me every time I called from London in a panic, through your relaxed and calm organisation of every detail as the day approached (anything I thought of you'd already covered!) right up to your warm welcome when we arrived for the reception, made this a day without any nasty experiences, unpleasant surprises, disappointments or upset. The foreign guests had a beautiful introduction to Ireland and many of the others maybe had an equally impressive new look at Dublin. You exceeded our expectations on every level and we were so proud to have all our friends and family treated so well throughout the day. It was my dream to come home to get married where I have so many lovely memories and both Mark and I really will always treasure the stress-free and utterly fun day and night that you and your team facilitated. We'll never forget all that you did for us! We've had lots of our guests contact us since we got back to London to say just how enjoyable it all was. Many remarked that they were extremely impressed with the Portmarnock, 'the best wedding reception [they had]attended', and intend going back for a break themselves.The food was really fabulous and the team on the day anticipated our every need looking after us with a smile that was typical of your own friendly 'no-problem' attitude. The service was attentive, discreet and flawless. As for the honeymoon suite...we didn't want to leave! We really cannot recommend the Portmarnock Hotel highly enough- our wedding was literally the best day of our lives, you did us proud! The hotel were brilliant nothing was a problem even changing the seating plan just before the meal. Everything was so easygoing it made it very relaxing and the food was really good and the feedback we got from all our guests in relation to this was the same. All the staff were extremely helpful and really couldnt have been more helpful and in all cases went beyond the call of duty The fact it was beside the beach and the golf links and the weather was good was a bonus The quality and service throughout all the dealings were extremely high and would recommend the hotel to anybody considering having a wedding or any function

The reason we picked Portmarnock Golf Links Hotel for our wedding was that we wanted to ensure that we had a very high standard of food and service for our friends and family. The only nervous time we had was in securing the date we wanted. After that we relaxed completely. We were delighted with how the day went, I was stunned at the number of people who said that it was the best wedding they had attended, they raved about the food and the beautiful venue. We went for the Gold Package which provided very good value when compared to other hotels, who priced items individually. The weather was good and it was delightful for our guests to walk by the sea after the meal. Also, as the wedding couple, it was clear that the hotel staff took extra care of us, which added to our very special occasion. We would highly recommend this hotel to engaged couples to have as their venue.

We had our wedding in the Portmarnock Hotel & Links in April 2009. The hotel management and staff did a fantastic job during the planning and on our wedding day. Their professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail helped make the day really special for us both. The food was superb, the atmosphere was relaxed and we didn't have to worry about any of the details during the reception. I would highly recommend this hotel for hosting your wedding reception. Having our wedding in Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links was the best decision we made. All our questions leading up to the big day were answered by Allison and the hotel team, who were always professional and unwaveringly cheerful. No question was left unanswered promptly and satisfactorily. On the day itself everything was perfect. The location as wonderful beside the beach and our guests enjoyed stunning views of the links golfcourse and the sea. The reception room was bright and charmingly decorated. The food was excellently prepared and the acoustics in the room really suited our live band and DJ. The hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier and were always there throughout the day and evening to effortlessly ensure everything went smoothly. We really couldn't recomment the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links highly enough as a place to celebrate the biggest day of your life.
