The Abbey Wedding and Events Venue - Kildare

We got married in the Abbey on Saturday & I honestly cannot recommend them enough. The service was incredible, the venue itself is absolutely spectacular & everyone is still speaking about the food!!!
If you are even considering the Abbey just do yourself a favour and book it. Our guests are raving about how fabulous our day was! Couldn't recommend them more if I tried!!!!

Our experience with The Abbey as our wedding venue was exceptional, the staff were so helpful and efficient all throughout our time planning our big day! The food was amazing and definitely was a highlight for us and our guests, they are still talking about it a year later! We had our night time celebrations in the chapel and it was very cool and something different for our guests and they loved it!
Wish we could do it all again and we’d choose The Abbey everytime!

We got married in October in The Abbey and have absolutely nothing but good things to say about it! Arizbeth was a dream to work with and made the whole process so easy. Everyone on reviews raves about the food and I can confirm they are true the food is amazing so shoutout to 3cooks! Everyone still talking about it. All of the staff who work there on the day are so genuinely nice and really added to the atmosphere. The bridal suite for getting ready is just gorgeous, and plenty of lovely photo opportunities throughout the venue. Can’t write a review without acknowledging their incredible chapel! It was so beautiful for the ceremony and then transformed into our entertainment venue in the evening which guests loved and weren’t expecting - really made it memorable! We got married in October and it was a perfect venue for that time of year, because we were not once worrying about the weather as it was all under one room, and plenty of gorgeous indoor spaces for the day! The outdoor spaces are lovely, but if you had pouring rain you would be equally as content thanks to the fabulous interiors!

We got married in the Abbey in August 2024. The venue were very easy to deal with and have a great team who know exactly what they are doing. I always felt in safe hands. The food was a big hit with guests and the specially requested margaritas went down a storm. The venue is beautiful and guests were v complimentary about it. The groom's family stayed the night before and were well looked after. The bedrooms are beautiful. The lack of tvs etc didn't bother us in the slightest.

A special mention to Jamie who showed us around the venue in the very beginning and was there for us on the big day, looking after the top table. She was always warm, friendly and extremely helpful. All the staff on the day were just amazing.

For a stress free and thoroughly enjoyable wedding experience I would highly recommend the Abbey.

Myself and my husband got married at The Abbey in June. Arizbeth and her team were flawless, the day ran so smoothly and they were exceptional in the run up to it answering all queries and putting us at ease. All the staff were so kind, efficient and good craic. The food supplied by 3cooks was exceptional. The suppliers they recommended were brilliant. The decor at The Abbey is stunning, and was really our style from the entrance, the chapel, to the garden parlour, ballroom and chapel bar, all were so unique and gorgeous. All our guests complimented the venue, and how it was such a hidden gem. We can't thank Arizbeth and team enough for making our day so special.

Even months later, we’re still in awe of the Abbey—it was the perfect venue for our wedding. Everything was exceptional, from the amazing staff and delicious food to the stunning facilities. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The team made us feel like VIPs, and their attention to detail ensured the day went off without a hitch. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue, the incredible food, and the flawless execution of every aspect. We can’t recommend the Abbey highly enough and can’t wait to return for future celebrations. It’s well worth the investment for a truly unforgettable and stress-free wedding day.

Our wedding in The Abbey was wonderful in nearly every way. The food was to die for, the setting was beautiful - classy, charming, and elegant. Our guests still mention the food, and I don't think I've tasted a better meal anywhere - never mind at a wedding! Fussy eaters were well-catered for, which was an extra unexpected bonus.

The tasting day before the wedding was an excellent opportunity to see the Abbey alive with people, and we knew that we had made the right choice.

Arizbeth worked tirelessly to make the day special, and the whole team made the day almost seamless. We didn't want the day to end and would do it again tomorrow if we could!

Arizbeth and the team were so lovely and helpful at every stage of wedding planning, from our initial viewing right through to the big day.

The venue itself is stunning with the chapel for the ceremony and after party being a huge selling point - everyone was raving about how fabulous it was!

And the meal provided by 3Cooks is simply stunning - a true fine dining experience and absolutely flawless. We had several guests with allergies and all were so grateful that they were accommodated so well.

We couldn’t recommend The Abbey enough x

We got married in the Abbey wedding venue at the beginning of november and from the very first time i viewed the venue i knew it was where i wanted to get married, what stood out for me was how unique the venue was, with having the chapel on site and then the bar in the chapel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bridal suite is amazing, very spacious to get ready in and beautifully designed. The staff were absolutely amazing, very promt when answering emails, very professional and friendly. ARIZBETH and her team couldnt do enough for us. The food was just devine, all our guests mentioned how every course of the meal was delicious and couldnt fault anything.

We had the most amazing weekend celebrating our wedding in The Abbey. Arizbeth and all the team were lovely to deal with in every step of the planning. We were so well looked after throughout. The wedding suite was the perfect space to get ready in on the morning of. The food was so delicious, it was definitely a highlight of the day.
The Abbey is such a special venue!

We had our wedding in September 2023 and I can't explain enough how amazing The Abbey is.
From the minute we walked in we knew that this was going to be our wedding venue. From the very first viewing we instantly fell in love with the beautiful building, the amazing decor, the wow factor of the chapel and the amazing team who run The Abbey.

Arizbeth & her team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Always there to answer any questions and made the whole planning experience as stress free as possible.
She really knew how to take any stress away and was so so helpful the whole time. Not only is she an amazing wedding coordinator she is a lovely person as well and an absolute credit to The Abbey.
We could not fault our day from start to finish. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Unfortunately on the morning of my wedding my wedding singer did not show up and thanks to Arizbeth she quickly organised for music to be played through their own sound system. I'm so grateful for that as I don't know what I would have done otherwise. She kept me calm and saved the ceremony ??
The food is still being talked about months after our wedding! 3Cooks who look after the food in The Abbey are absolutely out of this world and the food was top class on the day. I'm still dreaming about our meal we had that day! I just hope I get invited to a wedding in The Abbey in the future so I can experience it all again ????
Every corner of The Abbey is beautiful. The chapel is out of this world and was one of the deciding factors for us picking here. I have never seen a more beautiful chapel. The reception room is divine - the rich colours on the walls and chandeliers give it that touch of class and elegance. Our photos are just fabulous. We had the best day. Thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams ??
Sarah & Gary

We held our two day wedding in the Abbey on the 8th & 9th of September. It's safe to say it was perfect. The staff are so professional and friendly and nothing is too much for them. The venue is beautiful and all our guests were blown away by how it was both beautiful and quirky. Many described it as a hidden Gem.

Moving into the chapel for dancing was the icing on the cake, breaking up the evening really avoided a post meal - full belly lull and the dance floor was full all night long.

The food was absolutely out of this world, everyone was raving about it and so so many people told me it was by far the best food they had EVER had at a wedding.

Arizabeth is just amazing! she made sure everything was perfect. And is so helpful in the run up to the big day. I really hope I get to attend the Abbey as a guest in the future as it really is out of this world!

We got married in the Abbey last weekend - and had a pre wedding meal with close family and friends the night before. From our first viewing of the Abbey right until we closed the door behind us, Arizabeth and her team could not have done more for us. Nothing was ever to much for them and they were happy to oblige all of my requests. They were attentive and welcoming to each of our guests and made us all feel at home. The venue itself it's spectacular. Lavish decor and a stunning juxtaposition between the old and new meant every corner had something to see - our photos are pretty fab!! The rooms are bright and airy and everyone commented on how comfortable they were. The food by 3 cooks is second to none - all of our guests are still commenting on it - and the guys also went above and beyond to ensure we had exactly the menu we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend the abbey to anyone.

Absolutely brilliant venue, fantastic team of people doing an amazing job. I used to manage a wedding venue and understand the challenges but the team here absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our twin room was spacious, spotless and quiet, absolutely perfect. Supberb genuine friendly service from arrival to departure, nothing was a problem and every request made was handled perfectly. The standard of food was way above most venus I have experienced and I would highly recommend The Abbey as a venue, I hooe to return again.

Fantastic venue, fabulous food, excellent service, would highly recommend as a wedding or event venue.

Beautiful venue with absolutely amazing food. We had a great day at our friends wedding.

Absolutely amazeing, from staff to the food amazeing could not fault it one bit, even the Chapel and everything.

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish..Our Guests kept complimenting us on such an amazing venue, the friendliness and professionalism of Arizbeth and her staff which served up such a fantastic dinner that there was hardly a word spoken during servings such was the quality of the food.
Having our wedding at the Abbey made our special day extra special.
We would gladly recommend the Abbey to anyone wishing for something magical

We got married in the Abbey in July 2023. We spent 2 days at the Abbey with a dinner the day before the wedding and from start to finish the experience was completely outstanding. Arizbeth and the team were fantastic to deal with for the entire lead up and organising and then for the actual event.
Some standouts;
(i) the bridal suite for getting ready is amazing; we felt so relaxed which was helped by not being on top of each other and having food delivered (twice - we had snacks and mimosas ordered at 12 but they also impromptu brought us up some breakfast since we couldn't go down for it)
(ii) the food the day before and the wedding meal was so delicious; everyone raved about the food. Also catered exceptionally well to vegetarians and vegans; I had the vegan meal myself and it was honestly the best curry I've ever had.
(iii) the Chapel on site is absolutely stunning and so convenient for everyone; to have the chapel, bar area, and ball room so close was great to keep the day moving and the guests happy; and also the ability to have most guests stay on-site - and to have exclusive use of the whole place made us all feel so comfortable and special
(iv) Bedrooms - the bedrooms are really lovely; comfortable and calming. I like that there aren't TVs especially in the honeymoon suite; we barely looked at screens the whole weekend - just listened to each other and our guests and music, really kept everyone in the moment.
(v) the staff - could not possibly say enough good things about the staff. They were so lovely and obliging the whole weekend. There were 2 ladies in particular who were out on their own - I think I remember one name was Jamie and I unfortunately can't recall the other girls name! But all of the staff were amazing.
(vi) the experience that Arizbeth and the staff so obviously have gives the day a really calm vibe because you just know they're in total control and know what they're doing. Even simple things like we did an informal receiving line as the guests came out of the chapel into the reception and as soon as we greeted the last guests we were subtly led into one of the side rooms where they brought us a plate of canapés and left us for a breather. One of the highlights of the day - and nice to get some food, would have been easy to not get fed as the couple because you're pulled so many directions.

I could keep going but the point is, you will not be disappointed if you book the Abbey. I wouldn't change a single minute of our experience; thank you so much to everyone. 10/10

Great venue , amazing food , Arizbeth was brilliant , made everything easy and the day went smoothly

We had such a fantastic day at The Abbey! Arizbeth and the team are so professional and helpful. The food was amazing and a lot of guests came up afterwards to say how nice it was. I would highly recommend The Abbey to anyone planning their wedding.
Thank you all for this amazing day!!

Our guests are still talking about our wedding, everything was perfect. Dermot and Arizbeth ensured that everything went to plan from the day of enquiry to the moment we said "I Do". We would 100% recommend The Abbey. The pre meal the night before was a great way to mix with our guests before the wedding and the food was amazing! The venue is beautiful to making for stunning photo opportunities.

We celebrated our big day at The Abbey and it was perfect! Arizbeth is so easy to work with and super accommodating to make sure everything will be perfect! We couldn't be happier to have chosen the Abbey as our wedding venue, our guests were in love with it, the staff is so kind and nothing is too much for them. Our guests can't stop talking about the amazing food. The Best man is a chef and even he said that the food was better than some of the 5 star restaurants!
We weren't sure if the food for the next day will be enough but omg sure it was and delicious again!
Arizbeth and the team, thank you so much for helping us celebrating the best days of our lives. Myself and Ronan are so grateful we chose you to take part in our wedding!
Thank you!

We were very lucky to have a Saturday date in September at this beautiful venue. The food and service were excellent. We loved the decor and almost every aspect of the day was seamless from start to end. Many thanks to Arizbeth and the catering team.

We recently had our wedding at The Abbey and had the most amazing day.
The venue itself is stunning and the bold colour choice on the walls lead to some exceptional photos. The chapel which can double as the room for the after party was the biggest icing on the cake for us, it is beyond beautiful and was the talk of the event.

Arizbeth and the staff were impeccable both the night before and the day itself, everything went off without a hitch. We had so much fun with the staff with a special mention to a lady named Jamie who was so professional but I also had many a laugh with throughout the day.

The timing bringing the food to the tables was so good it was almost a military presentation which was so impressive to watch. The food itself was beautiful and could not have been faulted. We chose Beef & Fish as an option which wouldn't normally be the most popular ( usually chicken) but the Sea bass was just so nice that even my 10yr old niece had it over the kids option.

We didn't have to worry about any vendors or anything on the day, most of whom had been to the venue before but Arizbeth and the rest of the crew had everyone well looked after and informed on where they were setting up.

There is one or two things which can improve the overall experience but definitely wouldn't stop me from recommending the venue to anyone.

The general response time to e-mails and query's can be a little slow. After having our wedding I could probably put this down to how involved everyone is on a wedding day to make sure it is going perfectly but there was sometimes a week or so passing before a response was received so they could definitely benefit from having a dedicated person for general queries.

No cancellation policy on the rooms - As payment is taken up front this was a big deal for a lot of our guests. I think since you pay to rent the venue exclusively there should be a minimum of a 48h cancellation policy as these rooms cannot be resold to the general public. It got quite messy when a guest couldn't make it we had to try and find another guest who had not booked yet and give the hotel their name instead and get them to pay us to pass back to the person who cancelled.

We were offered a cancellation with a refund less an administration fee if the guest provided a doctors note for being sick etc but we felt that was a bit much and a general cancellation wasn't accepted. I think the introduction of a cancellation policy would greatly improve the situation as it put a bit of stress and onus on us as a couple to try and figure ways around it.

I want to say the above is certainly not a complaint just some areas we felt that some slight improvements could make a big difference. Over all we had a fantastic pre wedding night and wedding day at the venue and want to thank Arizbeth and everyone for making our day so special.

We got married in the Abbey and it was so brilliant! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, every space is amazing and so unique. The chapel really made it for me, it's beautiful. So many of our guests commented on the food and many said it was the best wedding meal they had ever had! Arizbeth and the team were so helpful throughout and were flexible to our requests throughout. I would highly recommend!

We loved the Abbey as a venue for our wedding. It was so personal. Everything centered around us and it was brilliant having the whole venue for just our guests. The food was incredible and exceeded our expectations. The whole team went above and beyond, and there were lovely extra touches thoughout the weekend. If we were to do it all again it would 100% be in the Abbey and would recommend in a heartbeat.

The Abbey was absolutely perfect. It truly made our wedding day magical. We planned it all from the United States and they made the entire process so easy.

Our wedding in the Abbey was purely a dream come true. From beginning to end it was a smooth and flawless process. The venue itself was wonderful! But the service was very well thought of too. The wedding team was very accommodating and helpful with our needs and requests and we couldn't have asked for any more than this. Each and everyone went out of their way to create the wedding day we had in mind. Cheers to Arizbeth who's the most amazing ever! 100% would recommend and we are already planning our anniversary in there!

We could not have been happier with our wedding at The Abbey.
Even though we booked it before the renovations had been completed, we were provided with enough information to really visualise the end product. And it matched up completely.
The day was magical and from the beginning to the end and I truly felt that my every request was catered to immediately on the day.
I cannot praise the team at The Abbey enough.
Thank you again.

After 20years together we decided in July to tie the knot and we really didnt want to delay in our planning so when we went to visit the abbey in August,we knew instantly that it was the venue for us and we didn't look any further. What really sold it for us was the restored chapel, we wanted a venue that catered for our service and reception, allowing for an easy flowing day, with no racing from a to b. The chapel ticked all the boxes and filled with loads of character with its beautifully restored stained glass windows and floor tiles but of course the cherry on cake for my husband was the bar that is tucked in around the corner from the alter. It really was a hidden treat for our guests as we had our service here and then later returned after our meal to dance the night away, making it the perfect multifunctional space.

Aoife was our wedding co-ordinator and honestly you won't meet a more warm and helpful lady. There was nothing we asked for that was an issue and on the day of the wedding their attention to detail was second to none.

Being a new venue I was a little concerned not having had any reviews about the service and food, there was certainly no need to be worried. The food was melt in your mouth especially the slow cooked short rib beef, our guests are still raving about it. There was plenty of staff to look after our guests, again they were genuinely so attentive, polite and well presented.

The Abbey is truly unique, it will always have a special place in our hearts as we couldnt of asked for a more perfect day for our wedding. With out a doubt we would highly recommend to anyone to hold their wedding there,as you and guests will be charmed by it just like we were.

Dermot, Arizbeth and Aofie in the Abbey were out of this world nothing was to much trouble always on hand or at the end of the phone. The venue is breath taking just Perfect in every way possible. We would highly recommend it. We hope to be back to do a family event there next year it was that good

I definitely recommend this place to anyone planning a wedding. They made us feel so special during all the appointments and the big day. Arizbeth is amazing. From the beginning, she worked with us to make the day as perfect as it could be and took care that everything was running smoothly on the big day.
The venue itself is great as well; the rooms are big and spacious. And the bridal suite is like a dream. Our guests praised them the next day. The rest of the building is spacious and beautifully decored.
Thank you so much to the team for such an amazing day.

On the wedding day everything was phenomenal, even better than we expected. The Abbey staff were attentive to all the details and are very friendly. Arizbeth is a great professional who was aware of everything and helped us a lot, she was a fundamental piece so that everything went perfect. The only problem is that during the preparation there were things that were not sufficiently clear, such as if the chapel and the dining room tables were going to be decorated with flowers and that we could not go in person the week before to finalize details. These problems I think are due to lack of experience and, may be, the covid situation. However, it is a magnificent and beautiful place that I recommend to any couple.
