A unique period property that has been recently renovated into a luxury exclusive wedding venue - The Carriage Rooms at Markree Courtyard. The Courtyard Bar positioned in the heart of the property is the perfect location for your drinks reception, The Saddle Bar and Lounge is located on the second floor leading to our fabulous function area, The Long Room.
Markree Courtyard consists of 10 comfortable and modern bedrooms which have been renovated tastefully whilst keeping as much of the original features and charm of the property. In addition we have Markree House which is the original traditional family home that houses 5 authentic bedrooms, decorated perfectly in theme with the period property.
Markree House also boasts a formal dining room seating up to 12 guests and a fabulous informal kitchen/diner. the drawing room and tv room are also fantastic spaces for your guests to relax. We are delighted to also have our very own salon for those bridal party preparations.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding here on St Patrick's Day. We initially booked the venue before it was fully ready & open for weddings as we knew it was for us. Being a local wedding everyone was intrigued to see the venue & it did not disappoint. Markree Courtyard is truly a hidden gem & the perfect location for a small relaxed wedding. It is also a family run business & that was evident in all that they do. The venue itself is rustic & simple & has been restored to perfection. Being a march wedding the weather behaved and we were able to have our drinks reception outside in the courtyard and when dinner was called we made our way upstairs to the function room which is the focal point of the venue rustic & elegant. The venue has lovely restored boutique bedrooms which was able to accommodate our bridal party & immediate family for the night. As the venue is picture perfect we were able to get all our pictures taken on-site which meant we did not have to travel to another location & so we had more time to enjoy with our guests. Andy the general manager is a complete gentleman and was a pleasure to deal with, he could not have done enough for us. We owe our day to him, the rest of the staff at Markree courtyard & all the suppliers we used who were so accommodating. We could not of had a better day & we look forward to returning to Markree Courtyard for other weddings in the future so we can enjoy it from the other side. We Wish, Anthony, Andy & all the staff at Markree Courtyard all the best & we have no doubt that the venue will go from strength to strength.

We were honoured to be the first wedding to be held in Markree Courtyard on 10th September 2022 and WOW! what a venue!
No words can express how delighted we were with the entire experience from start to finish
We were able to hire the venue exclusively for the weekend and create a dream wedding day that was unique to us?
The Couryard and Carriage rooms have been recently restored and the attention to detail is second to none? it has retained all its original character, charm and even standing stalls! The restoration project is a credit to the owners
There are no shortage of photo opportunities at this venue? from the entrance, to the gardens and even the staircase
We stayed in the house the night before the wedding? it was ornate, homely and spacious. The staff ensured we had everything we needed. The bonus was the salon for hair and makeup the morning of the wedding? yes an actual salon, my hairdresser was delighted!
Thankfully we were blessed with the weather and so the drinks reception was held in middle of the courtyard with bubbly, beer and cocktails. We had live music and even done the speeches out here. The atmosphere was unbelievable ????
We were blown away when we walked into the function room and see it fully set up? it was STUNNING!
Samantha & Anne are worth their weight in gold! They went above and beyond to ensure we had the most magical day. From the bottom of our hearts we cannot thank these two ladies enough? the entire experience was beyond perfect and this was mainly because of these two ladies!
We have no doubt that Markree Courtyard is going to be one of the best wedding venues in the North West. It all always hold a very special place in our hearts ??

Paul and I and both our families were honestly blown away by it all!
It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Caoimhin from the very start and we are so thrilled to have had our wedding there, it's without a doubt the best hidden gem in Sligo for weddings and events!
We rented out the original Markree House and the carriage rooms for all our guests, everybody could not speak highly enough of the beautiful carriage rooms that are renovated so exquisitely with a modern touch. The original Markree House is a home filled with history and elegance, an honour to stay in such fabulous accommodation.
Both our families were in awe at the decor, the accommodation, the staff, the food, we literally could not fault one bit of it. The Long Hall where our reception was held was decorated so beautifully by Lydia in stunning white and green floral arrangements that were so elegant and really gave the room the wow factor. I can only praise and thank all the staff for all the effort that went into making our wedding day what it was, absolutely perfect!
