The Red Door Country House

We got married in April and had the best day! Lauren and all the staff were amazing. There wasnt anything more we could have asked for. The planning process was straight forward and any questions we had were answered straight away. The venue and grounds are beautiful. We couldnt recommend Lauren and the team more.

Myself and my Husband got married at the Red Door on the 9th of April.
We booked the venue from the morning to get ready and truly from start to finish our wedding day was made amazing by all the staff at The Red Door.
The location is amazing and provides so many photo opportunities throughout the day.
We had our ceremony In the Red door and it was so beautifully set up without needing any extra suppliers.
One thing we thought was such a special touch was after our ceremony, Frances and Lauren met us both with a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
All of our guests commented on the relaxed atmosphere, the food and the lovely welcoming, kind staff. The food at the drinks reception was outstanding. It continued to flow and guests were never left hungry. All of our guests said the dinner was the best dinner they have had at a wedding and that speaks for itself.
The whole process from booking, planning and during the wedding was made feel seamless. We truly had the best day of our lives and that was all made possible by chosing the red door as our wedding venue.
We highly recommend this venue to all wanting a small Irish wedding with a cosy, relaxed feel to it.

We had an amazing wedding day at The Red Door Country House, all of the staff were brilliant and made ourselves and our guests feel very welcome. The food was delicious and the staff made sure that everything ran seamlessly. We also had a great experience from start to finish planning the wedding with our Wedding Coordinator Frances.

From the first meeting with Francis we knew that this was the only place we wanted to have our wedding reception. Our guests are still talking about the quality of the food and the attentive serving staff. The day was spectacular. The venue, location, we had a perfect day. We could not have asked for a more beautiful and accommodating venue for our special day. The experience and support during the wedding planning and on the day was exceptional. We worked closely with Frances who was amazing and guided us through to the smallest detail and brought everything together on the day. I would very highly recommend a wedding at The Red Door! Frances and her team are absolute professionals and work with you as a couple in a friendly, open and relaxed way. We had to change our wedding plans multiple times due to covid and each time Frances and previously, Linda were very quick to get back to us and worked hard to help our plans come together. No matter what we asked about Frances worked with us to make it happen and she had everything in hand.

The venue was amazing on the day, so beautifully presented and all the staff were friendly and professional. So many of our guests commented on the staff who served their meal, each guest got exactly what they ordered without having to be asked to confirm their order. This was especially remarkable as many guests ordered steaks cooked to their liking! How so many delicious meals were cooked at the same time to such a high level is remarkable to me!

The food was amazing, some guests commented to us that it was the best meal they had in their life - not just the best wedding food!

We enjoyed our day immensely from start to finish and so much of that was down to how relaxed we felt knowing that The Red Door had everything in hand. We can't thank them enough!

We held our wedding at the Red Door last week and we cannot thank them enough for what was a truly amazing day !
The Service and the attention to detail was second to none and the Food was exceptional!
During the planning and thoughout the day Francis & Peter were on top of everything, nothing was too much trouble and the flexibilty around changes etc was fantastic.
Many who attended commented that the food was by far the best they had experienced and any wedding they had been to elsewhere.

The Red Door Team were a pleasure to work with and nothing was an issue. We got married during COVID which made the planning very unpredictable right up to the day of the wedding. We would highly recommend the venue to future couples.

We had our wedding reception in The Red Door and it was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't change a single thing. From the food and drinks, to the decor and atmosphere, the views and the Christmas decorations, the staff and service - everything was perfect. We honestly couldn't recommend Frances and her fantastic team enough. The planning process was easy and enjoyable and no request was ever too much. The setting is intimate and cosy, perfect for the type of wedding that we wanted. Thank you to everyone The Red Door for hosting our big day.

We only looked at a few possible wedding venues but very quickly decided to go with the Red Door when we visited. Right from the start Frances and Linda were brilliant; profession, warm and welcoming and incredibly accommodating. We had planned for a July 2020 wedding but this was interrupted by the pandemic, so we had to move dates twice and also reduced our guest numbers. The Red Door could not have been more accommodating; we weren't put under pressure despite what we imagine must have been a very stressful for themselves. Communication throughout was excellent. On the actual wedding day, The Red Door was perfect. We had the venue to ourselves and our guests so it felt very exclusive, but still relaxed and homely with lots of character. We had around 76 guests which seemed to be a good number and the venue nicely filled up although it could have accommodated more. Everything ran as smoothly as we could have hoped and the wedding dinner was amazing and every bit as good as the Restaurant is when not catering for a wedding. As the Venue has just 4 guest bedrooms our guests found accommodation close by and there are lots of options including guest houses and hotels in Buncrana; The Red Door also arranged transport. Our guests all seemed to love the venue for including the wedding dinner. We had a private breakfast with our parents the next morning before some of our guests joined us for afternoon tea and again Frances and her team were incredibly accommodating. There are ample photo opportunities on site. We would gladly choose the Red Door again and I have already recommend it to other couples planning their own wedding.

One word ?unbelievable?. From the day we booked the wedding until the day we got married, everything was exceptional. Francis, Mags and Co, went out of their way to make our day absolutely perfect. Nothing was a bother, and whatever we asked for they helped us. The setting if anyone who ever hasn't been at the Red Door is exceptional, everyone was made feel extremely welcomed when they landed. The food, which we already knew from previous weddings we attended was top drawer. Everyone commented how good it was. Everything exceeded our expectations and If there was a way I could review it for more than 5 stars, I would give it 10

Such a beautiful place to get married. We had an outdoor cermony there and had the reception there also.The food and service was excellent from start to finish They really went above and beyond to make our day so special.

The food was amazing, the view was stunning, and the service was even better. If I was to do it all again, I would do it exactly the same!

We couldn't have picked a better place for our wedding .. everything was perfect from start to finish.. the team went above and beyond our expectations to make sure our day went flawless and perfect... we live in New York so you would think planning would be difficult, Linda was an absolute star and helped us every step of the way ..and Frances is a true professional at her job , you have never seen multitasking like it !!! A lot of family and friends travelled over from the states and they were beyond impressed with the amazing food , the excellent service and of course our outstanding Irish hospitality... if you want your dream wedding the Red Door is your place !!!

Our wedding day at The Red Door went beyond all our expectations. Frances and Linda were extremely supportive every step of the way with us up to and throughout our wedding day. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful. It was held in a marquee overlooking the stunning views of Lough Swilly. Afterwards, guests were offered canapes and drinks while we had our photos taken. The new outdoor seating area was perfect for the guests to relax and enjoy the live music.
The dinner was superb. The choice of starters and main courses were all cooked to perfection and were served in an impeccable fashion thanks to the professionalism of each member of staff.
Overall, we had a perfect day. Our heartfelt thanks to Frances and all the staff.

We got married in the Red Door in 2018. It was such a special day, the venue was amazing and I loved how it was only open to us for the whole day. The staff went above and beyond to help us from the moment we viewed and booked right up until we checked out the following morning. Francis was absolutely amazing and knew every detail we requested. The grounds are so well kept and the view is stunning. Our guests still talk about our wedding day as much as we do! Best experience in an absolutely stunning setting. Our wedding was perfect, the venue pulled out all the stops. It was beutiful decorated, with no need for additional flowers as it's natural beauty was enough. The food!!!! Oh my god, the food was incredible!!! The size of the venue was perfect that every guest mingled but didn't feel on top of each other. The whole team was amazing and helped us every step of the way. The Red Door is a wedding venue that surpassed not just my expectations but also that of our guests. The standard of service and quality of food was superb. Any correspondence prior to the wedding was promptly responded to. All staff were so friendly and helpful on the day even going to the shop in the next town for goats milk for a guests baby.

In preparation for the wedding the wedding coordinators kept in touch and were flexible and ready to accommodate any requests I had for the days proceedings from an unusually early start time to the decorations and layout.

The venue itself was immaculate and the setting absolutely stunning. I could not find one fault and all the little attentions to detail combined with the relaxed friendly atmosphere ensured my wedding day was everything I could have hoped for and more.

The Red Door cannot do more for you from the minute you book your wedding until it is all over. The staff are out of this world as well as the food and the venue. We cannot believe how special it is and the value for your money, given the luxury you will experience is hard to believe. I ADORE this venue!!

The venue staff worked with us to find commonsense solutions to any queries or niggles we had, and we really appreciated their no-fuss approach. Our experience of having our wedding day at The Red Door was wonderful. The entire team made the run-up to the wedding stress-free, they were open to every request we had and made us feel very special on the day itself.

The venue was presented stunningly, with the outside marquee overlooking Lough Swilly, and we got feedback from many of our guests that it was hands down the best wedding food they?d ever had.

The real test of a wedding venue comes when something doesn't go exactly to plan on the day, which inevitably will happen. There was a burst water mains pipe in a nearby town, meaning no running water in the surrounding areas from 6am until late in the evening on our wedding day. To emphasise how professional and flexible the team was, we didn't even realise ourselves that they had no running water as they worked tirelessly to keep topping up tanks all day long with bottled water, while also doing all their other wedding day jobs.

We cannot recommend The Red Door highly enough to people planning their wedding, and look forward to coming back there many times in the future.

My husband and I could not fault The Red Door, everything from our first meeting until our wedding day was handled excellent, always keeping in contact and checking everything was ok. The staff, surroundings, layout of the wedding venue and the food are all top notch...staff were all so attentive and paid attention to our needs.
