How to Book Your Dream Wedding Supplier Team

Planning & Advice

Your dream wedding supplier team will bring your wedding dreams to life. They are the ones who work tirelessly behind the scenes so that your wedding is absolutely perfect! But how do you begin to find the right ones for the job? Today we’re breaking it down for you!

Know your style

Firstly, it’s hard to know who you’re looking for if you don’t know what style you’re in search of. Finding the best wedding suppliers should begin with style and not budget (that will follow). Are you wanting a gorgeous outdoor wedding in the sun? Or perhaps a cosy venue with candles all over the place? Do you envision a large guest list of everyone you know and love? The answers to these questions will determine the type of venues you look at.

As you can see, you’ll save yourself a heck of a lot of time if you know which direction you’re going in. Instead of shopping by price and then deciding which suppliers suit your style, I highly recommend determining your style first.

Pick your date

Before you can start asking suppliers for their availability, you need to know what date you want to get married. If you find your dream photographer and you’re willing to select your date around his or her availability, then go for it!

Create a budget

Use industry standard prices to create a wedding budget. Once you’ve got an idea of roughly how much money you can spend on each of your top suppliers, you can begin to contact them.

Look at real weddings

The best way to see if a supplier suits your style is to check out some real weddings! We have a ton of real wedding stories on our blog which will give you a great idea of how talented a supplier is. This is particularly true for photographers, venues, dresses, makeup and other suppliers whose work is very visual. For wedding DJs, bands and other entertainment, see if any of your ideal suppliers are offering a showcase or live event which you can attend. And lastly, whenever you find yourself at a wedding, look around and see what you like!

Enlist the help of another professional

Let’s say you have already booked a wedding coordinator, venue or photographer. Ask them for supplier recommendations. Working with suppliers who often do weddings together is fab. You know they’ll ‘click’ well and produce an excellent wedding for you! Sometimes you can even get some pretty good discounts this way too.

Use a supplier finder tool

A supplier finder tool, like our Service Finder, will help you to find the best wedding suppliers for your wedding. Simply put in your details and we’ll put you in touch with the best wedding suppliers in the business. I highly recommend this method because it beats the classic Google search and it’s much easier. Plus, you’ll end up booking suppliers based on their work, their reviews and their style.
