Claire and Sean met while they were working together in the same trainee group. Since Claire had always said she didn’t want a public engagement, Sean had something very special planned:

“I always said I’d prefer if someone proposed to me on a random day at home rather than in a restaurant or on a beach. Sean proposed to me on Christmas Eve in our sitting room by giving me an early Christmas gift which was a book made with all of our memories over the years. The last page of the book said ‘Will you marry me?’ and he got down on one knee. Obviously I said yes!!”

“We went with a burgundy, navy and blush pink colour scheme. Lots of flowers, cherry blossom trees and greenery. We got married in the amphitheater in the Keadeen on a sunny day and it was so beautiful it was like something from a fairy tale. Then we had dinner, drinks and danced until the sun came up. Everything went perfectly!”

Claire wore the “Tessa” dress by Rebecca Ingram and Sean wore a Bennetti beige tweed and navy suit.

The bridesmaids wore the lovely multi-way dresses in burgundy by Presley Blue and the lads wore similar suits to Sean’s, however they had full navy suits with a tweed look waist coat.

“Our ceremony was so beautiful. We made our own music playlist and it was so modern and very ‘us’. We had the perfect sunny weather and got married outside on the gorgeous grounds of the Keadeen.”

“The Keadeen was incredible. From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty! They did all of the setting up and decor so we just had to show up.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by John Delaney!

“John was incredible!!! He fit right in with our friends and family. He was such good craic and took the most gorgeous photos and he had us all so relaxed.”

They had the Pumped Up Kicks as their band and DJ to entertain everyone. The dance floor was never empty from the minute they started playing!

They also got a selfie mirror from Shoot Booth. They were brilliant, providing hundreds of photos in the album to go through.

Claire shares her favourite memories from the Big Day:

“I caught a sneak peek of my husband walking down the hall in the hotel before the ceremony. He didn’t know this and never saw me. The minute I saw him walking down the hall all of my nerves were gone and I felt so calm.

Another is during our ceremony we were holding hands while doing hand fasting and we were holding hands so tightly it was as if we were telling each other ‘we made it!’ without using words.”

Newlyweds give brilliant wedding planning advice. This is what Claire and Sean had to say:

“Don’t sweat the small stuff! Things go wrong, that’s life but on the day you won’t care! You won’t care who didn’t show up, or if the table plan is a mess or if you got a stain on your dress. All you’ll care about is that you are marrying the love of your life.”
