A Dreamy Summer Wedding With White and Green Decor

Articles, Real Weddings

What could be better than tying the knot in the gorgeous summer sun with 130 of your closest friends and family? Not much, I say! Aisling and Daniel embraced the romantic summer weather and incorporated lots of white and green into their wedding decor.

A unique touch we absolutely adore: the Jelly Bar! It was meant for the kids, but it was a huge hit with the adults too.

Aisling and Daniel met back in 2009 at a nightclub. They got engaged on their 10th anniversary, while celebrating in Lanzarote! Daniel proposed on the beach while watching the sunset – how magical!

What could be better than tying the knot in the gorgeous summer sun with 130 of your closest friends and family? Not much, I say! Aisling and Daniel embraced the romantic summer weather and incorporated lots of white and green into their wedding decor.

Aisling wore a long, white shoulder length dress, with her hair in a beautiful half up and half down style.

Daniel looked dapper in a dark navy tuxedo.

The bridesmaids wore light pink dresses with matching shoes and the best man and groomsmen wore a dark navy tuxedo too.

They had a beautiful humanist ceremonies, lighting candles to representing their families coming together, as well as readings from family members.

“We had a time capsule which my husband built from scratch which we then locked until our 25th wedding anniversary. I was one hour and 30 mins late for our ceremony despite only being 100 meters away from the ceremony location, which my husband never lets me forget. It was a really warm sunny day, ideal for a wedding. We also wrote and performed our very own vows which we nearly got through without crying.”

“Our ceremony was in a beautiful decorated marquee on the grounds of the hotel with great big windows to allow loads of sunlight in to really set a scene. We then had a drinks reception in ‘the deck’ bar, also on the grounds of the hotel with beautiful views of the Ballymoney Beach and sea. Our dinner reception was held inside the hotel itself in the Aine Suite. A marvelous big ball room with high ceilings, mood lighting and lovely furniture. The food was exquisite, the staff were amazingly helpful, polite and good fun to be around also. We then had day 2 of our weekend in the ‘deck bar’ then also. We organized music and food and everyone said they had an amazing time. It literally was the best weekend of our lives and we owe a great deal of that to Seafield and their amazing staff.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by Alan Roche Photography and DC Media!

Aisling says, “Our photographer was Alan Roche. He was fabulous to work with. He really knew exactly what to do with us to get the best shots which we loved. All the photos we got from Alan we were very happy with.”

Even though Daniel was worried about being on camera all day, he was pleased that he didn’t even realise the videographers were there half the time!

“Picture and sound quality was perfect on our wedding video and they captured all the best moments. The editing and the background music was very good also.”

To entertain their guests, they had the brilliant band The Mixtape who played into the early hours, keeping the dance floor full all night long!

They also arranged a photo booth so guests could take photos home with them. The Jelly Bar was meant to be for the kids, but it was a huge hit with the adults too!

Aisling shares her favourite memory from their Big Day:

“Having all our family and friends in one place together for the whole weekend. It was like taking everyone away on a holiday where no one had any worries or problems for a whole weekend. Both family and friends came together and really mingled and had an amazing time.”

Here’s their brilliant advice for other couples:

“If you know your partner is the one then do it sooner rather than later, you won’t regret it!”
