How did you meet and get engaged?

We met back in 2011 and got engaged on the anniversary of our first date 6 years later.

Describe your wedding:

Our wedding colours were navy and gold. This tied in great with the decor at Clonabreany House. VP Flowers did an amazing job hanging matching paper lanterns and floral chandeliers in the marquee, they also did our flowers in the ceremony room. We kept the remaining decorations to a minimum as the venue is so stunning already we felt it didn’t need anymore.

Our colours were also echoed in our cake made by Clare Anne Taylor Couture Cakes. She was a dream to deal with and made the most beautiful cake and dessert table. The cake is still talked about now a year later!

We had a very relaxed wedding, focusing more on everyone coming together for a good time with lots of dancing and yummy food.

Our band was The Beats, they were the best fun, out in the crowd, getting our guests to play on blow-up guitars and of course sounded amazing.

Tell us about your bridal look:

My dress was bought in Barnardos Bridal Rooms, in Dun Laoghaire. The girls in there are lovely and they have such a great collection of brand new dress to choose from. Not to mention the money goes to charity! My shoes were Pink by Paradox London, they were beautiful but I definitely didn’t break them in enough before the day and they were changed before the dancing started.

My jewellery was a mixture from my grandmother, mother in law and sister in law, it was lovely to wear such special pieces for a special day.

My hair was done by the girls in OB1 Salon Maynooth. Lorraine was a dream to deal with throughout the whole process and all the girls were so accommodating and nice. I wore a headpiece for the ceremony and a tiara for the remainder of the night. My hair was in long curls, with the front plaited and pinned back and still looked beautiful the next day.

Make up was by Sophie Cassells MUA, she did such an amazing job on me and my bridesmaids. I got so many compliments and it lasted the entire night.

My bouquet was done by Lorcan in Absolutely Fabulous flowers in Celbridge. I had given him a couple of examples of flowers being used by VP flowers in the venue and he matched my bouquet perfectly to this. He has such an eye for detail and I cannot recommend him enough.

What did your bridesmaids wear?

My bridesmaids’ dresses were from Iclothing. They were navy maxi dress with a crochet top and gold zip at back, all the girls looked stunning in them. They had matching gold jewellery and gold sandals also. Their bouquets were simple Gypsophila.

What was your ceremony like?

We had a HSE ceremony in the ceremony room at Clonabreany House. Lorraine, our solemniser was so lovely and put us both at ease during the ceremony. We had Kevin & Danielle from Only Us Ceremonies do the music, the sounded amazing and so easy to deal with.

We had Denlo photography cover the ceremony and preparations because they are a duo we have photos from all angles and of both bridal preparations and groom preparations. They were a dream to deal with so kind and made us feel so relaxed throughout the whole process. The photos are stunning and we have received so many compliments on them since the wedding.

Tell us about your wedding venue:

Clonabreany House was such an amazing venue. From the first moment we viewed it we knew it was the venue for us. They were so easy to deal with, especially our wedding coordinator Laura. The grounds are perfect with so many photo opportunities, the food is divine and all the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a smaller wedding so there was ample accommodation for everyone and our guests really enjoyed being in the houses together. The shi bin is so adorable and a great hit with our guests.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?

My favourite memory of our day was sitting at the top table with my husband, looking out over all our guests, eating, laughing and drinking. Our first meal as husband and wife with our closest family and friends to share it with.

Have you got any advice for other couples?

Relax and enjoy it. Remember you are having this day to marry the person you love,  everything else is a bonus!
