We met… at a friend’s wedding at the Great National Hotel Ballina. I had asked someone to be my date at the wedding but he said no! I was happy he said no when I met John.
Our proposal… John whisked me away to Rome for New Year’s Eve weekend. He proposed in Irish at the Trevi Fountain.
My dress… After searching through a few shops I found the perfect dress in Belladonna Bridal in Galway with the help of Donna.
His suit… John chose his navy and silver suit in Oliver’s Menswear & Dress Suit Hire in Ballina.
Our wedding theme/colour palette… Maroon was the prominent colour for our wedding.
Our ceremony… was in Roundfort Parish Church where my parents got married.
Our favourite part of the day… The whole day was perfect but we think the ceremony was the best part.
We chose our venue because… We looked at a few venues but our hearts and minds were always going to go for Great National Hotel Ballina as this is where we met. Denise the Wedding Planner was brilliant and the food and service was excellent. Our guests were treated like royalty.
My piece of advice for other couples… The wedding day flies by. Enjoy every minute of it. Don’t stress about the little things. And remember “everything happens for a reason”.
