“The photos tell a story and bring back every feeling from our wedding day.”
The couple: Fortune and Arnold Ruhukwa
Length of engagement: 2 years | Wedding date: 27 July 2017
Wedding Ceremony: Newcastle Parish Church Co. | Wedding venue: Druids Glen Resort Hotel Co. Wicklow
Photographer: Colreavy C Photography
We met… We actually started out as really good friends and then one thing led to another. Our first actual date was in Odeon bar in Dublin.
Our proposal… Arnold proposed unexpectedly a day before my birthday while relaxing in the house. He got down on one knee and proposed.
Our wedding theme… The colours we chose were Gold, Champagne and Blue.
My dress… was from Alexanders Bridal Limited Bridal Shop in Dublin. My hair was done by Anele Moyo and makeup by Carol.
His suit… he wore a French Navy Blue from Love Suits, DunLoaghire-Rathdown.
What our bridal party wore… The groomsmen wore suits from Love Suits, DunLoaghire-Rathdown and the bridesmaids wore dresses from Marian Gale Boutique Donnybrook.
Our ceremony… We exchanged vows in Newcastle Parish Church Co. Wicklow. It was celebrated by Rev William Bennett.
We chose Colreavy C as our photographer because… he was incredible from the beautiful engagement shoot to 180 guests in church and at the hotel. He had a challenge with all the venues and people but he did it with complete ‘chilledness’ and style. The photos tell a story and bring back every feeling from our wedding day. He was professional, efficient and friendly. We felt that Cliff made the effort to get to know us and ensured that the photos of our wedding reflected our personalities which offered a really nice personal touch. Everything was perfect from the communication, quick turn around and near 600 shots that we will cherish forever. We absolutely love our wedding album. We can’t thank Cliff enough and we highly recommend him.
We chose our wedding coordinator Nessa Kearny because… she made us feel at home when we went to view the wedding venue. She was professional and friendly.
We chose our venue because… it’s a lovely hotel which provides the most luxurious and elegant wedding settings. The staff was very friendly and the food was very nice which makes Druids Glen the perfect wedding venue.
Our menu… We had a Caeser Salad starter, and roast plum tomatoes and red pepper soup. Our main course was baked fillet of Clare Island Salmon or Fillet steak. The dessert was assorted cakes, served with tea and coffee.
Our honeymoon was… in Cancun Mexico. We stayed at 5* Rui Cancun Hotel for 14 nights.
My favourite part of the wedding day was… the ceremony while being surrounded by family and friends who were happy for us.
My piece of advice for other couples preparing for the wedding is… The wedding planning is really stressful. Please let wedding coordinator do their job and let people help you also. Don’t forget to enjoy your day. The wedding day goes really fast! Trust your suppliers that they will do a good job.
