Grecian hair styles and accessories were huge on the A/W 2012 catwalks this summer, with designers such as Louis Vuitton, Rodarte and Emilio Pucci preferring delicate braids and bold brassy accessories over slicked backed city styles. And, with so many gorgeous floaty dresses in next year’s bridal collections, we think these ancient regal styles are sure to be a go-to for 2013 on-trend brides.
Love them or hate them, plaits/braids are a real fashion statement for Grecian style bridal hair. Wear yours in a wishbone style intertwined with a gorgeous hair vine, or add some detail to your crown with a soft French side plait under a foliage headband. Another way to add some Grecian style to your hair is to wear hair down and wavy and add in some random small plaits and hairpins throughout.

Updos in Grecian styles should be soft and slightly messy and simple double or triple strand hairbands (below) are a perfect way to set this style in an understated way so as to draw concentration to the face… and dress!

Accessories for a Grecian style vary from sparkly silver hair vines and diamante petal grips (see Stacey Hannan‘s collection for inspiration) to gold leafy bands to full floral hair wreaths. The main thing is to make sure your headpiece complements your dress without taking away from it.
