14 Adorable Ways to Include Hearts in Your Wedding

Décor & Flowers

Weddings are all about romance and what’s more romantic than the adorable love heart. Check out 14 cute ways to include them below…

The Décor

Hearts can be woven in to your wedding décor just about anywhere, starting with your stationery suite. If you’re looking to make your wedding stationery truly personal, use your thumb prints to create a heart shape and set the romantic tone from the get-go. From here, you can work them in to both the ceremony and reception from your pew ends and the back of your reception chairs to creative welcome signs, table name displays and of course throughout your table settings. If your ceremony venue isn’t a fan of confetti, mini flags are a popular and cute alternative – we love this cute heart version below. And if you’re looking for a heartfelt way to honour those that are no longer with you – be sure to check out the ceremony tree display Sharon and Donal created for their wedding, where they hung small hearts with the names of their loved ones – see it here.

The Fashion

We’re a big fan of the combining your something blue with this symbol of love – lots of brides opt to sew a blue heart inside their dress for their take on this tradition. Make it all the more personal by using a shirt from your Dad, fiancé(e) or other close loved one you’d like to include in your day. Other sweet ideas we’ve come cross on our travels include the flower girl twirling a cute heart shaped wand, ‘Here Comes the Bride’ sign or heart adorned petal basket as she makes her début down the aisle (we’ve seen maids brandishing heart wands too if you fancy getting everyone in on the action). For the boys, this heart shaped patch is a gorgeous gift idea for any brides or grooms looking to surprise their OH on the wedding morning. This idea would also work for Dads too as a thank you gift.

The Sweets

Sugar cookies are a mini trend that has been popping up in weddings over the past few years and we for one love them. These iced creations can be made in any shape you like (hearts, engagement rings, shopping bags – the options are endless), are smothered with delicious icing and to top it off can be given that personal touch with you and your partner’s name – iced hearts are a gorgeous way to celebrate the romance of the day and are a perfect favour idea or could be a sweet addition to a dessert table. Cake toppers are another cute way of putting your stamp on your wedding. These adorable glittery hearts are a romantic addition to this frosted delight and they can be easily made with your own fair hands – check out the tutorial over on The Paper Pony.
